"I found this place by chance, while hungry and going into Harris Teeter for some fried chicken. They were all sold out, but just outside there was a heavenly smell coming from this place called Forbidden Palace. So I went over to check it out. First, I have to say that what I ate there is sincerely the best NY Style Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. Atmosphere is serene and everything in the restaurant is very clean. Great place for a romantic date, taking your whole family, or even solo dining in comfort and peace. They also have traditional (authentic) Chinese food, if that’s what you’re after. This is the true “No. 1 Chinese Food” restaurant in taste, quality, and style. I’ve been back twice already since my first visit, and it’s easy to say that I will be a regular here from now on."

Always incredible! The fried rice is wonderful, and the sweet and sour shrimp really shines. This restaurant is undoubtedly one of our top choices.

I had a wonderful experience! The food was tasty and made fresh to order. I truly appreciated the atmosphere, and our waitress Tiffany was extremely attentive.

I had high expectations as we are always searching for a great place that offers both Chinese cuisine and sushi. This combination is quite common in our area, and...

Food good, bad service. Party of three and got rice for one. Couldn’t get the waitress to come back; then she says more rice is more money. I don’t care! Check back and see if we need anything! View menu

The food was very good reasonably priced. But the service was phenomenal. They were short wait staff we had one waiter who is serving several tables he was an absolute joy and did a fabulous job making sure none of us felt left out and made sure all tables got what they needed.

We also sampled the hot and sour soup and the egg drop soup, which had a noticeable price difference. Both soups were tasty, but I'm not sure the price makes them worth ordering again. Don't forget to take advantage of their happy hour, which runs from 4 to 7 PM daily, offering discounts on a selection of appetizers.

Good food. Reasonable prices. They have a lunch menu also. Service was pretty good but I was at a table of six people and they brought people's food out at different times. Most restaurants will try to bring everyone's food out at about the same time. I was stuck sitting there twiddling my thumbs while all my table mates were eating. Not cool. View menu

The fried rice… not fried, Szechuan chicken not fried, more like Hunan chicken. Fortune cookies GREAT! Only four dumplings in an order and meat was very dry. The crazy roll (RAW), very small, too much sauce and pricey for what is served. BBQ Chicken bun filled with more sauce than meat. 30-45 minute delivery window actually 1hr 15minutes. Lo Mein, pork, okay. Overall, overpriced not good food. Two thumbs down.

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and as a huge fan of Chinese cuisine, I was excited to see how it would compare to others I've tried. I always make a point of ordering a classic dish, and I was not disappointed here—it deserves an impressive 9.5 out of 10 stars! The service was outstanding, definitely a perfect 10 out of 10. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Our server, Jim, was among the best I've ever encountered, and the restaurant boasts a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere.
