"Edit: on our third visit, we experienced similar issues as other reviewers where the shop delayed their open to 9am, then to 9:30. When they finally opened, we learned they had a water issue and didn’t have any fresh baked goods. They were only selling day-old, partly stale products at full price, which is ridiculous for a bakery. When fresh, their baked goods are amazing, but this place has a ways to go with professionalism and service. Wow, what a gem! I’ve tried several of their pastries (coconut macaroon, apple cinnamon sugar cake, and, almond horn) and each one was delicious. So far my fave is the coconut macaroon, but I’ll be back for more! This is the perfect stop after a day of hiking to pick up a treat or bread for the next day. A little pricey but I don’t expect much cheaper in these touristy areas. Try to get there early as they sell out quickly."

Nobody showed up to work, so they had nothing to offer except yesterday’s leftovers.Too bad, we came for sandwiches to feed 6 of us going hiking. Would have spent quite a bit.

After seeing sign after sign, we thought we should stop. We shouldn’t have- Overrated, rude employee, no prices listed for bakery that was just so/so. Ordered 2 bakery items and was charged $18.00! Not worth the stop.

If you plan to visit both Zion and Bryce, you will pass by for sure. We went there around 8:45 amprobably the first cyst there since it is opened at 8:30 am. You have to try pastry fresh from the oven. Love their quality croissants and apple strudel.

Never pass up a German bakery! This is a good one, had a selection of pastries and a loaf of crusty bread to go with our soup later. They had quite a few different choices of bread and pastries, all looked amazing; the ones we had didn't disappoint. When in Orderville, this is a must stop! View menu

Not great. We have been here four times over the course of a few years because we really want to love it. We bought bread and almost lost a tooth. Had some of the pastries, but it all tastes dry and like it has been shipped in. They state it is baked there, but it did not have that fresh out of the oven taste. We have been there early late morning and late morning. It is the same.

A German Backstuben along highway 89? What's not to like about that? They had high-quality baked goods and sandwiches. I tried several things, but really liked the Marzipan chocolate horns. They did forget my sandwich order, but made up for it by offering me a pastry. Lots of outdoor seating. I stuffed croissants and cakes into every nook and cranny of my motorcycle! A very nice shop in a beautiful location that will become a regular stop for us.

"Orderville, Utah. You can 't go through a place like that and not expect it to be vividly, proudly, possibly annoyingly Mormon. All of this is true. Well, apparently according to an info booklet that was helpfully sitting by my plate at the Soup Town Cafe 'Mormon ' was a name their enemies gave them and they prefer to be called members of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints. Um. Sorry, Mormons. No offense intended, but for the sake of this review.... 'Mormon ' is... a much shorter name. I learned this and many other things as I read this booklet on the history of Orderville. It was kind of nice, in the midst of a busy day full of driving and hiking amongst hoodoos and towering canyon walls, to just sit down, read a nice booklet, and eat some absolutely kick ass chicken noodle soup and a BLT on homemade tasting bread (my dad asked after our meal, and apparently their bread is homemade only half the time; it wasn 't on the day we went, but it sure tasted like it! . I 'm really not much of a soup fan because I live in fear of those awful tasteless watery broths with limp veggies sinisterly floating around like evil mushy monsters. But this soup really was great. It was a meal on its own. The broth was creamy. The veggies were fresh. And every single piece of chicken was hearty there were no end pieces or fat slices or gristly bones hiding in the depths. We finished off with a caramel sundae, which I didn 't know how much I appreciated until lated in the trip when we found ourselves faced with multiple caramel related snafus but I 'm getting ahead of myself. THIS sundae was tasty and was made with REAL caramel. And real whipped cream. Actually, the entire time I felt like I had been transported back in time to the 1950 's. Everything was simple and old fashioned, including the food, and our waitress was stiffly polite. This place had never heard of MSG or additives or mass production it hadn 't heard of TV 's in the corners or WiFi or fancy ass food. Or websites, apparently (it 's nowhere on the internet . Maybe this wouldn 't be my thing very often, but in the middle of a fast paced, go go go road trip, it was much appreciated."
