"The Nugget Saloon is a must visit to make your visit to Deadwood complete. Very low key friendly atmosphere with classic Pop/Rock filling the room, perhaps a bit on the loud side. I asked for an Old Fashioned cocktail and was told that the Smoked Old Fashioned was a signature drink of the the bar and was far superior to the common version. Sure enough, the bartender pulled out a piece of cherry wood then ignited it with a propane torch right on the bar and let the inverted glass soak up the smoke for a minute or two before completing the drink. Yes indeed it was quite tasty and that 's the only way I would want it at The Nugget Saloon on my next visit."

June 8, 2022. I will start by saying they have the best country fried steak I have ever had!! Everything else was very good also. Cheap mixed drinks which are larger than normal. Staff was super friendly. Our service was great.

The pancakes were so fluffy and filling. I ordered 3 of them but was filled up on only 2 of them. Great food. We come here once a year and this is our breakfast spot unless we do the buffet at silverados. Definitely would recommend.

Be sure to ask the locals for recommendations on where to find good food! We always have pizza on Friday nights no matter where we are, and this place did not disappoint. The signature smoked old fashioned cocktail was delicious, and it was entertaining to watch the bartenders craft it.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. I've been in Deadwood for several days now and I make sure to stop by here every day. They have great drinks at reasonable prices, and the staff is super friendly. It's worth noting that their opening hours tend to be earlier than what's published, so be sure to check the door before you head out.

eating was good as the service. I have to take points for the atmosphere. when they come to deadwood with a head full of old West voices, they do not expect a place to look like the gem and feel like a dining room in a 1970s era american legion hall. I had hoped it would even be somewhat in character, but unfortunately it was extremely banal. View menu

the steaks were terrible, the pommes were cold, and the asparagus was not even edible. we sent our steak back to make it new and another table near had to send his back. when we got our back steak, it wasn't very good. I wouldn't recommend this place. the service was great, but the food didn't even pass a chain steak house in quality. $80 before a tipp was was wasted.

The first issue we encountered was when the waitress provided incorrect information about the dish my partner ordered (they were out of it). I ordered my steak cooked medium well, but it arrived rare. The replacement was just as rare as the first one, cooked well on the outside but still bleeding. Despite being dissatisfied, I decided to eat it as I was hungry. The taste was good, but overall I was not pleased with the restaurant.
