"Hana is a wonderful Japanese eatery in the northern part of Phoenix, near Camelback. My wife and I were looking for a good sushi and found this magical place. The atmosphere is quite relaxed. We were not dressed for any special occasion as they drove out of town. We started with a cook 's special, roasted eggplant in a Ponzu bread with Bonito flakes above, and seaweed salad. The broth on the eggplant was so good that I had drunk the whole bowl! Both appetizers were incredibly tasteful, but not too hard for a first course. The next course was sashimi tuna, uni and Toro. The Tuna sashimi was very light and tender The Uni Sushi, which we tried for the first time, it was not our favorite, but not because of the preparation my wife and I just did not like university. The main attraction, the Toro, was absolutely fantastic. It was our first time toro, and it was well worth the experience, even more sensitive than regular tuna sashimi with a melt in your mouth butterfly texture. I recommend the Toro if you are ready to splurge (market price ~40 USD for 6 pieces). The main course was the fish collar. This is as long as stocks last. It was exactly what I was hoping for. Delicate texture, grease and light taste with beautiful crispy skin! The diving sauce was the perfect companion. Finally we had Mochi for Dessert. My wife had the mango and I had the green tea. My favorite was a mixture of both flavors. The green tea is a more green flavor that I enjoy, so if you're like green tea so much, I would go for one of the other flavors. The service was also excellent. My wife and I will be back to support this business. Overall, this place had won my wife and I and we will definitely recommend everyone who wants sushi or Japanese cuisine in the Phoenix region! @foodbrawl"

Delightful spot with incredible food! Great way to follow up a visit to the Japanese Friendship Gardens. Menu is full of house specialities and each dish has incredible flavor, bit pricey but nothing outrageous. Would highly recommend!

My experience here was great! The waiters were very nice, and even if it waited a bit, it was worth it for the great food. It's also very clean. Some foods that got my table were the Okonomiyaki and the green tea mochi. The portions are quite large for a good price! I would definitely come back here! View menu

After reading the reviews, we decided to check this place. We enjoyed everything we ordered. We had ikura with quail egg, okonomiyaki, spicy tuna roll and a rainbow roll. We never had okonomiyaki, so we can't compare it with a previous experience, but we loved it! Everything was fresh and properly rolled. Nothing was falling apart. The service was attentive. No wonder this place is BUSY. We're coming back!

In town visiting my Aunt and she highly recommended Hana. We got there right when they opened, so we were seated immediately. They brought waters out as soon as we sat down which was lovely. The staff is so friendly and answered any questions we had about the food. I got some sushi rolls, the Shrimp Tempura roll and the Lil Dyno, both of which were absolutely divine. My aunt had some tempura and Soba which was fantastic as well. Highly recommend!!

"i’ve been coming to lacuna for over two years now and this little gem is definitely one of my favorite places to be. i’m not much of a review-writer, but when i feel passionately about places (good or bad , i get inspired.as someone who leads an alcohol-free lifestyle, it is SO nice having this option to unwind and create some art, relax, or hang out with friends. i’ve truly made so many wonderful connections through lacuna that i will cherish for a lifetime!it’s also a great place to get work done. i work remote, so i spend a good majority of my week here at my second office ; the BOGO happy hour deal comes in clutch.i think it’s really great that there is a mix of events now too, not just strictly DJ’s performing 6-7 nights a week. (although i do absolutely love the nights when there’s a DJ as well ! the variety of events is great; chess tournaments, community coloring, workshops, recovery groups, massages, yoga etc. there’s been a lot of engaging activities that i enjoy attending or participating in.i feel like lacuna has become a lot stronger in both the workspace and community-front in the last year or so too. the kavatenders all have such a warm and positive energy and always make me feel special when i come in. it’s nice seeing management interacting with customers and staff more too. it’s nice overhearing the positive feedback from management to staff (or staff to staff , and hearing the conversations that the staff members have with guests. there just seems to be a lot more connection overall. lacuna is growing and glowing for sure. <3the price increase is a bit of a bummer, but in a time with inflation… what can you really do? i personally TRUST lacuna with their product and that’s what keeps me coming back. i know they put both quality and care into their products and it really reflects. it can be a pretty penny if you’re getting multiple drinks, but fancy craft cocktails at a regular bar can be the same way. plus, my points add up so quickly i get pretty frequent discounts with their reward system. it’s not the end of the world!i appreciate the subtle changes in the bar layout and decor too. even the little things keep it feeling fresh and a little new each time you come in.the *only* “negative” thing i have to say about the space is that it can be difficult to order a drink or close out a tab sometimes. there’s rushes and it gets busy, but sometimes it feels as if one staff member just isn’t enough during these times. sometimes there’s not a lot of communication about this either between staff and people trying to close out, but i’ve been coming here for awhile now so i know what to expect. if you’re in a time crunch, just give yourself a little buffer or cushion of time to get closed out (or order to go right off the bat and close out immediately .all things considered, though, 5 stars all the way around! lacuna is an ever-evolving, ever-growing spot and i’m excited to see what the future looks like for you guys! : bulaaaa!!!!"
