"How is it that I have lived in and around SF for decades and didn 't know about Isa?! I went with a friend after a museum event. We were greeted (and warmly welcomed) by Sam who gave us options as to where we could sit. Then he asked if we had dined there before and we both said no he gave us the impressive history and background on the restaurant, single chef, menu highlights and the team who has worked together for 21 years! They have added a full bar so we started with perfectly made cocktails and ordered the goat cheese (with crusty bread) and the arugula salad (with fennel, apple and a light dressing), the potato wrapped sea bass (house favorite) and the halibut. Along with the corn on the side. Everything was perfectly prepared (fish was fresh, moist and delicious), layers of flavor were amazing, portions were healthy, and wine options plentiful. We ended the meal with a crème brulee also delicious. Isa is now a favorite."

This restaurant is fantastic. We visited once and then came back again a week later. The staff and food are both excellent.

We travel to SF twice or more often every year, and Isa is our promary destination restaurant. It continues to be excellent, with gourmet preparations of rack of lamb, sea bass, halibut and sweetbreads (the very best).

Excellent service and food. The braised calamari, butter lettuce salad, hamachi, potato encrusted bass, scallops, halibut and Himalayan spaghetti were heavenly. The crème brûlée and semifreddo were total dessert hits. The waiter, Dean, was a delight and tended to every detail. It was a fantastic experience for our entire party. We couldn’t recommend the restaurant more highly. View menu

Very nice French-California cuisine started by the original owner Luke Sing and his wife. Many of the current staff are still there after 20 years which speaks volumes. Crème brûlée is delicate and delicious. All the signature dishes are good. Lamb chops and sea bass encased with potatoes. Some fresh paint and some lively music will bring more cheerfulness to a charming restaurant. BonAppetite

We have been dining at Isa for years, particularly for special occasions such as Mother's Day or Valentine's Day when they have a 4 or 5 course dinner menu. Each dish is exceptional and made with fresh ingredients, especially focusing on fish and seafood. We particularly love the ahi appetizer, oysters, potato-wrapped seabass, and halibut. The staff, from the Maître d' to the servers to the food runners, are all very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend Isa!

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
