"A fabulous long tradition!. I came here every summer since it was reopened in the 1970s. It was a favorite of my grandfather who brought me and my sisters after a hot summer day of swimming and boating at nearby Beulahsee. It is really a legendary landmark in the picturesque little town of East Troy. The menu has hardly changed in the last 36 years! All parasols are unique and creative, named after some of the landmarks from the area. The stoic, but friendly, John Lauber, owner since the beginning, still used only the best authentic ingredients that are probably not easy to find for him these days! He still runs the salon together with his annual revolving staff from local teenagers. The decor is all original from the good "oil days of the early 20th Century. Antiques and collector's items that have been saved by nearby Milwaukeee-Apotheken-Soda Fountains that have long gone. Prices are so cheap, tourists and visitors from the vicinity of Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison are stunned. All children love the penny candy counters near the front of the store that believe it or not, still has penny candy! The black and white Sundae, the Dusty Road and the extra thick chocolate Malted are my favorites. And don't forget to order a real Green River Softdrink or an authentic Cherry Coke with syrup and Seltzer, just in case you didn't have enough sugar! This is a true jewel and a long tradition of the area. It would be a shame if it ever closed the doors. P.S. Remember that it is closed during the winter months."

This place definitely deserves 5 stars! The ice cream is fantastic, and the interior has a charming, old-school vibe. I always go for the Dusty Road flavor!

Don't anticipate quick service, but do take pleasure in the ambiance and the welcoming staff. Make sure to try the Bieber. The shakes and malts are the highlights!

Great throw-back ice cream parlor! Walk in and get the feeling of a long forgotten era. Definitely worth stopping in for a ice cream treat at the counter and old fashioned candy! View menu

This has been a tradition for years and years. So very good with some of the best ice cream sundaes I've ever had. The Italian soda fountain drinks and old fashioned candy selection keeps us coming back to reminisce of days gone by...

This is the best ice cream I've had in ages! Although the venue is smaller than it appears in the pictures, it makes up for it with its charming atmosphere and the skillful, friendly staff. I definitely plan to visit again with my family! View menu

I 've been coming to Wisconsin (Lake Beulah) every year (33 years) of my life. I remember LOVING this place when I was a child. And now, it is a fun and nostalgic place to reminisce my childhood. Now I am bringing my wife and my toddler daughter. The menu has largely remained the same over the decades- and its perfect. I typically get the Dusty Road : chocolate sundae with malt powder. Ice cream is very tasty, staff is helpful and polite. Candy section is prolific. Highly recommend.

What a little hidden gem, a nice trip back in time the moment you step into this ice cream parlor, from the squeaky wooden floors to the candy selection.Their menu is quite extensive and creative, I trusted the friendly recommendation of the man fully dressed in an attire that gave him an air of experience and knowledge behind the counter. I have to confessed I have never tried an ice cream soda and even though chocolate didn't pop up as my first option I went ahead and took his advice, needles to say I am a convert! a light chocolatey tasty drink refreshing enough to leave space to enjoy the nice surprise of finding a scoop of creamy chocolate ice cream at the bottom. "I enjoyed the atmosphere, as well as the place itself. It was (extremely) busy when myself other people arrived. This place was packed! Word of advice: If you 're going on the weekend, get their early! That being stated. The waiting time, when I arrived, was an hour. The next couple they told them up to 2 hours. I don 't recall if they take reservations? Moving onward. Everyone placed their order. The waitress was very polite, even though, again, this place was packed. Due to my dietary restrictions, I ordered the chicken sandwich, plain with cheese only. It came with french fries. I asked our waitress to make sure mine had no seasoning for both items. Even though this place was busy, they brought the food out within a reasonable amount of time. For the meal itself. The french fries had skin on them of course, seasoning. For the chicken sandwich. The bun for the chicken sandwich was plain. I believe it was a brioche bun. The chicken was a nice size piece. I bit into it. It was seriously chard heavily seasoned. I was really hungry, so I decided to pick at the chicken, as to avoid the chard as much as possible. All I will say is this, from my (personal) experience from this place. I was sick for 3 days afterward (in both ways). It took me almost 1 week to feel better. This is only based on my own (personal) experience. I 'm sure other people may have had a better one."
