"Great place to stop while you’re out and about. We decided to eat at Denny’s as soon as we arrived in town. After checking into our hotel, we made our way to the diner, which is nicely separated by some shrubs. The food is standard Denny’s fare, but we noticed they now offer a new To-Go feature that we considered for breakfast the next morning (which we might try next time). The Bleu cheese dressing was packed with generous chunks of bleu cheese, which I always appreciate. My husband had the spicy fries with his meal, and they were just as delicious as Arby’s curly fries. While we don’t plan to come here regularly, it’s definitely an option for our next trip to Paso."

"I often make the trip up and down the 5 several times a year to visit my family in South Bay and usually it is a quick stop at In-N-Out in Bakersfield or Kettleman City and it is back on the road. This time we had a friend with us on the trek from LA to Santa Cruz for a friend's wedding, and the time seemed to try something new. I remember seeing these amazing Taco signs from the side of the highway and decided that we would give FINALLY a try, as I said several times when we drove that I would love to try Gabby's one day as they seem to speak such a big game. We did, and we were not disappointed. The place itself is about 2-3 miles from I-5 and it takes just a few minutes to get there, so it is still a pretty convenient stop. Upon arrival, the place is really embedded in the middle of nowhere and while the environment is a little deserted, the place looks refurbished and was kept incredibly clean. Pro tip? The bathrooms are IMMACULATE. How... super clean. This alone is worth the ride from the highway to get some delicious food. When entering we were greeted by a man behind the counter and we checked the menu. My friend wanted a breakfast Burrito and, although they had stopped selling them about 30-40 minutes before, he fortunately committed and made one anyway. My fiancée sat down for a taco salad and I had a carne asada taco plate with an additional side of rice and beans. Chips and salsa were free, and they were AMAZING. Food came out quickly and quickly. When we were there (it was about 11:30), the place was empty except a table. Since we were there, 5 to 10 more guests arrived and it was quite shocking. The food itself is FANTASTIC. How good. The meat I had was delicious, full of a big BBQ/charred taste, juicy, and not fat or hard. The rice and the beans were also delicious. I swallowed the plate in about 5 minutes. The salad of my fiancée was also great. Crisp salad, freshly prepared. The Burrito my other friend had was a perfect size and full of everything you ever wanted. He had trouble with it. The prices were also fair. We spent about $22 for the Taco plate, drink side of rice and beans, and the Taco salad. About ~7 more than we would pay for In-N-Out, but it was worth considering that there were NO lines, the food was DELICIOUS, and the place literally had the cleanest bathrooms of any restaurant that could be stopped on a trip. The truth is said when one was meaningful to stop at this place on the way up and down Central Cali, make it a point. It may have been my first time, but it will certainly not be my last. "June 30th, 2008 Monday We stopped by here on the drive down to Southern Calif. from Northern Calif. My wife stayed in the mini van (w/AC blowing) with our twin 1 yr old boys and 3 little dogs. The plan was to jump in and order food. We'd stay in the umbrella covered patio area to eat. As I run in, I see that there's a huge line. I'm wondering why there was a huge line on a regular Monday afternoon. As it turns out, the staff (mainly mgr) was horrible. It took forever to get the food out. Two cashiers took orders as normal. I see the staff in the back whipping up burgers and orders. The female mgr, however, took her time and took forever getting the meals out. It took at least 20 minutes before I got to the front of the line. It took another 15+ minutes before I received my order. The manager would go to the back and walk all around slowly getting the orders out. At one point, I saw a pile of wrapped burgers/sandwiches pile up in the holding area waiting for the mgr to bag them up and hand them out. When I got my order, she didn't say sorry or anything. It was a horrible stop. I'll never go there again and tell everyone else I know not to go to that Carl's Jr. The people behind were getting really upset too."

"TLDR small McDonald's connected to the Mobile Gas station. Includes a drive thru and dining room. Service was good but food was not hot. First, this location is not next to the freeway but down the road. You may have to make a U turn to get there. Be sure to go to the McDonald's side of the building, although there is a pass thru between the stores. The food was thrown together in the box (quarter pounder with cheese) and lukewarm. It was served quickly. Used the app and curbside pick up."

"Sundaes were great! Didn't know DQ had non dairy dillibars! Thanks from a lactose intolerant person! Bacon cheese burger $6 special is a great deal! Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the 5 hotdogs we ordered. Tasted fine but were barely even warm...let alone hot! Strange as burger was hot!"
