"Jimmy's Sushi, located in Eagle River, a suburb of the greater Anchorage Alaska Metropolitan area, continues to be an excellent outstanding restaurant. My wife and I (first telephoned them about their current operating hours what with the covid-19 challenge) visited Jimmy's just the other day and opted to enjoy our meal of Singapore Rice Noodles on a take-away basis in our vehicle out-in-front. However, Jimmy's does offer inside dining should one so wish and there were two (couples) enjoying eating inside the restaurant. So first, Jimmy's is certainly alive-and-well (as well as any restaurant can be at this point in time) both for indoor dining and take-away service. Second, over-the-phone and in-person the staff were extremely outgoing and friendly. All members of the staff were wearing face masks. When I ordered a take-away meal I was asked where my vehicle was located so that they could come out to our car and deliver our meal to us in our car. A very nice touch. Also, I was asked if we would like our meals divided into two indiviidual servings (one for me and one for my wife). This too was outstanding. Finally, we really enjoyed our Singapore Rice Noodle dinner. Cooked to perfection and oh-so-tasty."

As I continue on my journey for a full appreciation of sushi, I get braver each time I try it out.

Coming from Hawaii, I was shocked to find so little sushi shops given Alaska is the salmon capitol.

We go here regularly. Food always deliciously hot and fresh. We are not sushi fans, but the other offerings are delicious. They follow covid restrictions to the letter. View menu

We were new in town and this had great reviews. It was actually really good. We called our order and picked up in 15 or 20 minutes. Fast and eady process. Got home and the portions were quiet big. I will go back again.

The food was fresh and well presented. Small selection of saki but had my favorite one so that was good. The spicy tuna was not over powering and had good balance of flavors. Service was to the point with little chit chat.

Just left Jimmies Sushi, didn't even get a chance to try the food. Sat there for a solid 4 minutes before the table behind us. Guess who got served first, it was not us. Thanks for the service, never plan on coming back. Sorry! View menu

Not the best, but it’s eagle river. Our waiter was great and very attentive, very informative. The busser was a real “show”. She wore rubber gloves, demanded a tip from our table. Rude little twit. She also informed a table next to us that “the soup was fresh” when they told her the lipstick on their plate was not theirs. Take the time to go to Anchorage.

I was going here when it was Shine 's Sushi and then continued once Jimmy 's moved in. I have to say, Jimmy 's has exceeded Shine 's (who moved across town) and have amazing, consistent and delicious sushi. Eating in is always great, although Covid has made that less of a thing. However, they 've made great use of pick-ups and it 's easy as ever to order over the phone and pick up. They have your order ready in about 20 minutes and are very swift in the pick-up process. The staff is friendly and they tend to even know my standard order, which is cool. I appreciate their customer service and friendliness. The food is reliable as well and while I try different rolls sometimes, I have my favori...

"Well! I wish I had taken more pictures at this place but it was the first time I 'd encountered a schooner of beer outside of the Pacific Northwest. It distracted me from taking any further photos at this remarkable establishment. I can 't talk highly enough about this pizza joint. It 's conveniently located right off the Glenn Hwy and easy to get to and then back on the road again. I loved the quirky layout of the building and the obvious expanse that has taken place as the place has grown. As an out of towner or tourist it was a treat to walk in and start looking at historical local Alaskan memorabilia. I got the sense that there was a lot of nostalgia and pride in the support of the local community. It gave off a super family friendly and welcoming air as we were escorted to our table. Marlis was our server and she was so friendly, honest and helpful. She was more than accepting as I worked my way through 96 oz of beer. Let 's talk more about beer. Being from the PNW I 'm used to a Schooner being significantly smaller than the Mystery Schooner Marlis brought me. It was a massively chilled 32oz bowl of Pizza Man Pale Ale to start with. 32oz! For $6! And it isn 't even a Coor 's, Bud Light, Miller Light, Rainier type of beer joint. They must have had close to 30 beers on tap and regular Schooners were only $8.75! For any beer on the menu! None of this PNW different prices for different beers. It blew my mind. And the food was really great! Beyond expectations. Chicken wings, cheese sticks, steak sandwiches, egg plant parmesan and of course PIZZA were all great. Their menu could work a little harder on identifying gluten free and vegetarian options as there aren 't any markings in the menu. The menu itself is exhaustive and unexpected in it 's offerings. I suspect you can go back every other day for a month sharing plates and not quite get through the whole thing. You gotta go. Make the drive, flight or float to get to Eagle River and experience the Pizza Man. Local treasure outside of Anchorage and worth the trip across the board. Say, Hi to Marlis for me and throw back a Schoon (or 3, if you 're not driving)."
