"Hidden gem of a place to get your fill of sushi or ramen. Pot stickers are to die for with mouth watering taste and dipping sauce. Volcano roll and dragon roll bout fill you up quick and provide mouth explosion of flavor and texture. No kids menu but highly suggest the chicken and fries to fill their belly?s. And quench you pallet with one of their refreshing beers they call. Apple Pomegranate is a fantastic beer that will become my favorite so far. Highly recommend youstop and grab some spicy ramen as well. Enjoy indoor or outdoor dining. Plus pet friends are welcome."

Good stuff! They simplify the menu options as ramen can get crazy but they offer full customization to fit your needs. A bit pricey but not outrageous. Great place all around.

The service was excellent, and the Ramen and drinks were good. This will definitely be a place I come back to when I'm craving Ramen. I tried the spicy umami Ramen and it had the perfect level of spice. I really enjoyed it and would recommend this restaurant.

I highly recommend this amazing place for lovers of spicy food. I tried the killer spicy ramen with tofu and egg, and it was absolutely delicious. I also tried the love potion drink, a blend of champagne and sake, which was surprisingly sweet and tasty. The location is unbeatable as well.

The ramen at this restaurant is satisfactory and quite filling. The fried chicken appetizer they offer is delicious. We also tried the octopus doughnuts, but I was too full after the ramen to fully enjoy them. I had two of them, and they are definitely unique in flavor - an acquired taste. They may not be the most delicious thing I've ever tried, and the gooey texture of the octopus inside may take some getting used to. Overall, it's worth trying as an experiment. View menu

Jinya is a pretty nice ramen place that has an industrial feel to it. Its pretty casual and the wait staff has been nothing but nice to me every time I've come. Although its not my favorite ramen broth in San Diego, its definitely up there. Its very flavorful and has a very herby feel to it. I've only tried their white broth though so to be fair I could like the other ones. The prices are a little bit more than your other ramen places, but for the beach view and place, I suppose its justified. All in all, I would recommend it.

I really wanted to like this place as it's the only ramen bar in PB but it's just not authentic in anyway. I don't believe for a second they spend 6 hrs cooking the broth. Shoyu tasted like watered down soy sauce, miso was entirely dashi broth and shio isstraight salt water. No creamy, milky tonkatsu will be found here. Chashu bowl tasted burnt. Karaage was the one bomb item butthey charge for a dipping sauce, first ramen bar I've every seen karaage not coming with kewpie mayo or spicy mayo. Will keeptrekking up to convoy for my ramen fix I guess.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
