"I was quite disappointed in my overall experience at Kotobuki. Went here for a date night. The ambience is really dim here so it makes for a nice romantic environment yet at the same time it's very relaxed and casual. It's really affordable for sushi standards of what you can get however the quality just wasn't up to par in comparison to the many sushi places I've visited. Some of the rolls the fish was warm which was a bad sign. I thought everything was just ok. The best dish was the crispy rice with the spicy tuna. However all my other dishes were very mid and unimpressive. However the service was niceFor me it's a one and done place don't think I will be back.3/5 stars"

This place is sooooo good! Every roll we got was super fresh. Especially loved the yellowtail jalapeño appetizer and all the speciality rolls were amazing.

We got sashimi deluxe and udon with dashi broth. Sashimi was fresh and the slices were very thick. The udon was delicious! The price here is very reasonable. And I love their salad dressing!

Great place. The atmosphere is great, food is very good and the service is good. Also the prices are very reasonable. Only thing is they add a 20% tip to the bill, calculated after tax, which is way too much. But they were kind enough to remove it and let me add whatever tip I wanted.

Great find using Google Maps. We are visiting NYC and looking for Sushi this evening. We were not disappointed by our pick. Very local with a good vibe. Arriving a little bit before 9pm they took us right in with many of the tables still crowded. We will be returning on our next trip. View menu

Lots of positive things about them, but a few pointers. This place is better if you eat there. Also, the sushi sashimi deluxe is kind of without any thought. Nice pieces of fish, but nothing to make it feel special. I think better off to go with the more interesting rolls. Shogun roll was just blah. Wouldn't get it again. Overall it's good.

This felt like very high end sushi and I was very impressed. There are so so many sushi restaurants in the city and they all just seem to blend together, but this one stood out among the rest. Everything was so good and I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone trying to figure out where to go. Also get the plum wine, it was delicious. It was pretty dark in there, which is fine but a little hard to see the menu.

I love this place. It is the only place no matter where I am in the city that will go to for my sushi. I hate sushi with cucumber and their sushi is the only sushi I LOVE to eat with cucumber because it’s shredded. The prices aren’t horrible and they always seem friendly when I come from I take out. The few times I’ve actually dined. It always seems very packed, and I personally prefer to sit at the bar. The food is amazing here And I am here often. Definitely would suggest. View menu

I absolutely loved this place. It was delicious and the service was fast and on point. The decor is tradition which is lovely. As soon as I sat down they gave me a complimentary little cold noodle sample. It was delish. I ordered the spicy tuna sandwich which was delicious. The hole in one roll which was fantastic with the scallop on the top and the yellow tail of sashimi is fantastic. The portions were all pretty big and the pricing is even better! Will definitely be coming back to try more of their fun rolls!!

Kotobuki is one of the, if not the, best moderately priced sushi restaurants in Manhattan. Always high quality food no matter if you eat inside or get carry out.If you eat inside, the food is very prompt and the restaurant itself is relatively loud. Would not recommend as a date spot unless you already know the person well. Better for a group of friends. Always a decent amount of college kids given the price point.Highly recommend the spicy tuna pizza and getting one of the sushi combos (ie Sushi for one, two, three, four that is truly the best value)I love a dragon roll, but their dragon roll is not ideal. Way too big of bites

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
