"They made my Burgundy breakfast burrito wrong or their menu is inaccurate. I asked for no pico but still came with red/green peppers which is not listed in the menu description for the item. I know, I'm a picky eater, but I would've asked for no peppers if it was listed. And, I wouldn't get the burrito again anyways. The sausage gravy on top was bland and not much sausage in it. The filling was stuffed with a bit too much potatoes and not enough ham/bacon/eggs. Overall, it was just bland and dry … – show"

Well um… I was kinda underwhelmed. It's been around since 2013 and it seems to be that the muffins and cinnamon rolls are the best on the menus. View menu

Started going here because they figured out how to serve food during Covid. Kept coming back because they keep getting better. Recently tried the slinger and it was.

Tried their weekday breakfast recently. Very good. Have done regular menu a few times. Also good. Greek breakfast skillet would do again. My meeting companion had the blueberry pancakes. Also very good.

Warm bar pub like atmosphere with lots of posters/memorabilia mostly from the 80s and 90s. Love the food! The brussel sprouts and falafel fries were standouts along with the HUGE Greek shawarma. Definitely a great hangout with friends spot… View menu

The food here is fantastic. For the area, it's very affordable. Whatever you order, make sure you upgrade to the sweet potato fries. It will be the best dollar you have ever spent. There's only two reasons Layla doesn't reach the 5 star mark for me. First, the new time schedule throws me for a loop. They are closed Monday and don't do a dinner service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. It's a bit of a weird schedule to keep track of. I don't know about you, but when eat out it's fairly sponta … – show

We used to like this restaurant a lot, but they changed their prices and it’s way too high for what you get. A burger and fries runs you $20— you’re better off at Five Star Burger or another joint with equally good food. And if you’ve got kids, bring your own food. Kraft Mac and Cheese and a lunchbox style tub of applesauce costs $8.50, drinks are extra. I get that costs have gone up across the board, but Layla went too far with its price increases. The dining room was nearly empty so I’m guessi … – show

"I've visited here in the past, but it's been a few years. I fondly remember enjoying the family style dining. Most recently I ate here with a friend and it left a bit to be desired... They were busy when we arrived but my friend had made a reservation so we didn't have to wait long. We were seated in a corner booth type table. Friend is gluten free and we chose this restaurant as they offered gf pasta dishes. That did not disappoint. It was exciting to learn that all of their sauces are gluten free and they have a pasta offering as well. They had a special 2 for dinner special and we ordered that. We both selected salads, chicken fettucine alfredo and we had the caramel apple torte with ice cream on the side (ice cream is gf). I also asked if they offered a bread service and the waitress advised that they did. I was very excited for dinner! The food and service however were disappointing.... bread service arrived after the salads... There was confusion with the salads one was supposed to be gf, the other dressing on the side. Neither had croutons and both had dressing on them. The person delivering them was also confused with them and they gave us a bit of doubt about whether the gf portion of the meal would be accurate (this is very important when you have celiac). The pastas arrived and sadly they only tasted okay. I thought maybe it was a preference on my behalf but friend was also disappointed with the flavor. The sauce lacked flavor and texture.... I still had hope for the dessert but didn't care much for it either. The outer crust had a flavor I didn't care for and I didn't finish. The ice cream however was delicious! Service throughout the meal was sporadic but they were busy so we didn't think much of it. However when it was time for dessert and the check our waitress was ready and literally advised she would wait while i reviewed the dessert menu and made a selection. Overall, it was nice that they had multiple sauce offerings that were gluten free as this was a main driver of us choosing this restaurant, however based on food taste, I most likely would not return. There are too many other great Italian restaurants in st louis."
