"There's not much else to do in Mount Gilead besides visit The Dairy Spot. While it may seem like just another typical ice cream joint, this spot stands out for one main reason - they serve Dole Whip. This rare find in the area sets The Dairy Spot apart from other small-town ice cream shops. The menu also offers standard greasy American food, similar to what you'd find at a Dairy Queen, but with a more local feel. Although they close for the winter, their Dole Whip is worth the visit. Priced at around $2 for a medium, the pineapple-flavored treat is a refreshing option in this small town. While the food may not be the healthiest, the cold ice cream is a welcome treat. Be sure to visit before winter sets in, as The Dairy Spot shuts down for the season."

"What a delightful experience! This place randomly popped up in my Facebook feed. The pictures I saw made it look so quaint and charming I wanted to give it a try. I drove over an hour to get here and must say it was well worth it! The cafe is located in what I understand was formerly a hardware store. I love historic buildings, and always appreciate when they are well preserved. The exposed brick walls, aged hardwood floors, and tin tile ceiling transports you back to a time gone by. The food and coffee were delicious! I had an iced mocha, which was not on the menu but they created wonderfully, and a club sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the staff is super kind and courteous. This may be my new favorite out-of-town coffee shop!"

"Amazing food, great service and it was such a pleasure to have lunch at a restaurant with great staff. We got the family meal for six and at $40. It was such a bargain ! A bread sticks and cheese sticks were out of this world, the original pan pizza was perfect and the stuffed crust pizza was a nice change for the kiddos! This is definitely a destination that we will be returning to again and again."
