"Three stars for cozy and inviting atmosphere, and welcoming and friendly staff. Stars off for less than stellar service and mediocre menu. Saturday afternoon, early fall. When we ordered the staff mention they were short staffed but it was very late lunch (1:30 pm) and not too busy so we ordered and sat. There were multiple tables available but none had been bussed after the previous customers. So we bussed one ourselves. The other tables didn't get bussed until we wereleaving. We were two couples and the meal for one couple was brought out 20 minutes before the other couple's, creating that awkward situation where you have to choose between eating in front of your hungry friends or letting your meal getcold. The fries that came with two meals were barely warm and barely salted. One of the meals was an ethnic dish that wasn't even close to the actual ethnic dish."

Nummy Hot Mess will come back for them! Not sure about the Chicken Mushroom bowl it was texturally perfect but missing the basil flavor. But it came out hot and the bread was delicious!!Lovely atmosphere!!

The Hot Mess fries are fantastic, and the seared tuna sandwich was quite tasty, though it felt a bit underwhelming compared to the fries (it was still good, so that’s not a complaint). We will definitely come back!

The food is AMAZING!!! To me this place gets a 10 star! I got the Burshetta, the Flatbread Pizza, and the Mac and Cheese. It is soooo good. Im from Hibbing, Minnesota and I wish we had one there!! Totally coming back View menu

Nummy Hot Mess is definitely a place I'll return to! While I wasn’t completely sold on the Chicken Mushroom bowl—it had the perfect texture but lacked the basil flavor—I must say it was served hot, and the bread was fantastic! The atmosphere was lovely as well!

Amazing building and fantastic atmosphere! This is probably the best café experience I've ever had. The portions are generous, and while it might feel a bit chaotic, the food is absolutely delicious. Just a heads up: it's popular for a reason, so be prepared to wait for a table. The espresso is served quickly, giving you time to enjoy the artwork while you wait.

I stopped by for a morning coffee, and I was captivated by the stunning building and its vibrant atmosphere. The coffee took a little while to arrive, but its delicious flavor more than made up for the wait, especially paired with the Mexican skillet meal I ordered. Loved this place so much we went here 2 days in a row during our short stay in New Ulm. The first day we were a little late for breakfast so I ended up getting a pot pie, and it was well worth the wait! The second day we came in early enough for breakfast.I got the drunken french toast and my husband got a mixed berry muffin and a breakfast sandwich. It was all amazing! Not tomention the coffee is great! I would recommend the Lola Latte!
