Fantastic service and even better food! The meals come out incredibly fast. If you’re a fan of Cracker Barrel, you’re definitely going to enjoy this place even more!

I was quite disappointed today! The food was served cold, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. It was also on the pricey side. While the atmosphere was nice, that's really the only positive part of the experience.

The service and food were exceptional! They offer an impressive selection of bottled and draft beers, along with a diverse range of drinks, steaks, and other dishes. I had the chili cheese fries, and they were fantastic; the black bean chili would have also been excellent served in a bowl or cup. The homemade blueberry pecan bread pudding was truly delightful. I also ordered takeout for another meal: the sausage dish accompanied by sautéed fresh vegetables, both of which were wonderful as well. Lorren and the entire staff were incredible, and I will definitely make it a point to visit again in West Branch.

Conveniently located just off exit 212 on I-75 in West Branch, this restaurant has a cozy log cabin and hunting lodge atmosphere with its decor. It's also attached to the Quality Inn and features a gift shop. The waitstaff, including our waitress, were friendly and accommodating. We found the food to be good, though it had room for improvement. To start, my wife and I shared the poutine fries, which were quite tasty. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries, but it was just average—not nearly as good as others I've had. My wife opted for the Mushroom Swiss burger with fries. This restaurant is exceptional, offering AMAZING food. Our server, Terri, was fantastic—knowledgeable about the menu, quick with service, and attentive to details that made our experience memorable. The miner's soup was extraordinary, packed with fresh herbs and homemade goodness. The bread and rolls are also freshly baked on-site. This establishment is top-notch—clean, welcoming, and boasting excellent customer service. The bread pudding was superb, though it could have been elevated with a scoop of ice cream on top. This is the first in a series of posts for Michigan 2013. A few months back, the GF and I returned to Michigan to visit her family and simply enjoy the end of spring by the lake. A big part of our trip involved going to Mackinac Island, which is one of the premier spots to vacation in Michigan. So on the way to Mackinac Island, we stopped for breakfast at Lumber Jack , which is attached to a Quality Inn chain. So while the latter means that if you actually stay at the motel, you'll smell the 80's cigarette smoke in the dry wall, Lumber Jack itself gets it done in terms of the food. When my second order arrived 25 minutes later, it was somewhat improved, but the fries were old and cold, the coleslaw was warm, and the fish was inconsistently cooked and tasted burnt. This often indicates that the frying oil is stale and overheated, causing the batter to char while the inside remains undercooked. I should have sent it back once more, but I was too hungry, so I ate it and pretended it was fine. The takeaway from this experience is that the restaurant is closed two days a week. I recommend changing the fryer oil on Fridays and designating one fryer specifically for fish and seafood.
