"When my second order arrived 25 minutes later, it was somewhat improved, but the fries were old and cold, the coleslaw was warm, and the fish was inconsistently cooked and tasted burnt. This often indicates that the frying oil is stale and overheated, causing the batter to char while the inside remains undercooked. I should have sent it back once more, but I was too hungry, so I ate it and pretended it was fine. The takeaway from this experience is that the restaurant is closed two days a week. I recommend changing the fryer oil on Fridays and designating one fryer specifically for fish and seafood. Additionally, when the fish is cooked, it should be placed on cardboard (like the top of a produce case) for a moment to ensure proper oil drainage. If management notices that the oil appears dark and is smoking, it definitely needs to be replaced! Furthermore, they should never serve a re-fried plate without refreshing it. Honestly, for a $30 dinner, I could have saved $20 and gone to Culver’s across the street, which would have been a better choice!"
