"Don’t come here if you want bad service and to be scammed. This is my second 1 star review that I have left for this place. First one was because the waiter was horrible. This time it’s because they decided to take it upon themselves to add an 18% tip onto each receipt. We ate with friends and split the check 2 ways. One for 3 people and one for 2 people. We noticed they added an 18% tip of EACH receipt. We went up to ask about it and they said that they require an 18% tip if it’s a total of 5 people or more. I explained that I had never seen them mention that and asked them to show me where they had that written. They took a moment to look at their menu and couldn’t show me it written. I explained regardless we are not a total of 5 people since checks were split. They then reworded it and said “since it’s 5 people at the table we require the 18% tip”. He went back and fourth with us for a while before fixing our checks. Not to mention we had the same HORRIBLE and RUDE waiter. Don’t come here if you want bad service and to be scammed."

Don’t dine here unless you want to pay for plastic wrap and only Lord knows what else hurt your jaw that they put in your rolls and no respect as a customer.

The food is fresh and delicious! The portions are quite generous. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Even my son, who is notoriously picky about his food, enjoyed it!

The AYCE sushi costs $37.99, and there’s also an a la carte option available. The sushi is skillfully prepared, with just the right amount of rice. It’s flavorful and there’s a wide variety of choices. While it may be pricey, you definitely get your money's worth. View menu

Felt like we were a bit of a nuisance to one of the staff. Needed us to separate our party with one end of the table all you can eat and the other not. Made seating for our party awkward. Kid-friendliness: No kids menu but we're willing to adjust the udon soup to their requests.

I dine here frequently but after today’s experience I will not be returning. Not only did I chew on pieces of a sushi mat, but I was also shooed away by a male server when I brought up the issue. I was disappointed in the lack of urgency and care a simple apology and remake of the roll would have made me a happy camper.

The service was great. Everyone was kind and personable. I would say it’s a little slow compared to other AYCE sushi places I’ve been to.The real downer was the food. The size of the rolls are pretty big (quite a bit of rice) but they were rolled pretty poorly and the rice would fall right off after dipping it in soy sauce.Overall, I don’t think I’ll be coming back but wish the owners the best of luck as they seem like nice people. Simply Everything is an average restaurant, but in a positive way. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. My host was friendly, and the kitchen staff was quick. On one visit, the host seemed a bit serious, but I understand that these jobs can be draining, so it might have just been a tough day for him. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick sushi fix; just don't expect to be blown away—it's satisfying enough! As for parking, there's plenty available in the area.

Went for sushi lunch buffet, no wait on a Monday.Server was attentive and food was brought out relatively quick. Can order 3 rounds, but they don’t limit how much you can order per round, so that’s good. Loved the rice-less rolls and baked mussels. Liked everything I ordered except the squid, which was quite chewy and didn’t enjoy the texture. Jen Jen rolls were surprisingly spicier than expected but yummy regardless, so watch out for that if you have a lower spice tolerance like me. Was stuffed after 2 rounds.

"I recently visited Izakaya Takasei and had a mixed experience. My boyfriend and I ordered the takoyaki, chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl, several yakitori, takowasabi (raw octopus with wasabi), and the Kobe beef roll. While the takoyaki and yakitori were delicious, the chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl was really bland. The Kobe beef roll was a bit odd with the combination of garlic butter and tataki sauce. Unfortunately, there were also a few items on the menu that were no longer available, which was a bit disappointing. It would be good for the restaurant to update their menu to avoid any confusion or disappointments. While the food at Izakaya Takasei comes out quickly, this can also be a double-edged sword. During my visit, my boyfriend and I received several dishes at once, which meant that a lot of our food was sitting out and getting cold while we were eating the others. It would be great if the kitchen could pace the dishes better to ensure that everything is served at the optimal temperature. The service was a bit lackluster as well. The only time we were able to ask for condiments, utensils, and more water was when the employees brought our food out. No one checked on us throughout our meal, and it would have been nice to have a more attentive staff. On the plus side, the restaurant has nice Japanese decor and is quite spacious. However, there was no background music, which made the ambiance a bit dull.Overall, while there were some drawbacks, Izakaya Takasei may be worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Japanese cuisine. Just be sure to join the wait-list on Yelp beforehand and check in with the host when you arrive."
