Great stop in for happy hour and a great meal. Service was fantastic, even with a massive amount of post-work/happy hour people.

Always taking it up a notch — the Merchant Bar has an ever evolving menu with great service. The restaurant was very busy during our visit, but the staff served us promptly allowing us plenty of time to get to the Opera House for a show. View menu

The overall experience was great, but the only downside was the limited service due to there being only one waitress for approximately 10-12 tables. She mentioned that a staff member called out unexpectedly, causing delays in our service.

Magda took the best care of us. We came in for a birthday celebration and she was able to make it special. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Thoughtful pairings with fresh ingredients and well made sauces. Would recommend again and again!

Was very turned off at the fact that I had a reservation and when I was sat the table by the door (remind you it’s below 0 outside) I requested to sit further back and I was told that those tables are reserved for guests who make reservations and request so specifically sit there because they are regulars and knows where to sit. We’ve always had a good experience at Merchant Bar and this time was no different. Our food was well prepared, delicious and came out in a timely manner. Our waiter/bartender, Sam, was friendly and attentive even as the restaurant became more and more crowded. I’d definitely recommend stopping in for a quick bite before a show or a late night drink after.

I met my daughter at this restaurant for happy hour, and it was our first time there. The bar was crowded and lively, but we had made reservations so we were seated at one of the two tables in the back, which was perfect. The server was friendly and attentive, and the bartender who brought us our food was wonderful as well. We ordered the chips and guacamole, the cauliflower, and the crab dip, which were all delicious. The house wine on special during happy hour was also good, and they have wines on tap. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

I had never been to Merchant Bar. Had tickets for a show at the Baby Grand which I got for my sister for her birthday. We decided to grab a quick bite before the show. I made reservations through OpenTable, letting the restaurant know it was a celebration for her birthday, and that we also had to be out by a certain time. Fortunately, the place was not very busy and we got a nice high top up front. The happy hour drinks were tasty, and the food was excellent. But the best part of the experience was Marta. Her service was so friendly and thoughtful. We ended our meal with the super delicious Tres leches shortcake and she brought it out with a candle and helped me sing Happy Birthday to my sis...
