"The positives: the food, the raclette, the atmosphere, and the service. We chose a perfect bottle of red wine from the shop nearby, which complemented the cheese beautifully. We opted for the basic raclette, featuring melted cheese served over boiled potatoes, bread, and gherkins for $20. In hindsight, I should have spent an additional $4 for the version with charcuterie, but I thought it might be too much food. The standard raclette portion was a modest size, but I could definitely have used some meat, so I’ll be ordering that next time. We also picked up a tin of delicious sardines recommended by our cheesemonger, so be sure to ask them about their packaged fish if you're a fan! The small starter salad and the chocolate pot de crème made for a perfect opener and dessert, respectively. Just a heads-up: the portion sizes are not typical American restaurant portions, and the cheese is of extremely high quality, so be prepared to pay a bit more for it! Some might find it a bit pretentious, but I believe the value matches the quality. As for the drawbacks: like all vendors in 7th St Market, they close at 7 PM when the market shuts down. If you're looking for a romantic date night spot, make sure to arrive early! I didn’t realize the market closed that early, and we ended up staying until closing time. Thankfully, the staff at Orrman’s didn’t rush us, which we truly appreciated. I’m not a fan of feeling like I'm overextending my welcome as I know the staff have their own lives to return to, so I accidentally rushed myself when I would have preferred to relax a bit longer. I hope the market extends its hours now that things are better post-COVID! As for the negatives: there were none. It’s a 5-star experience! I see they’ve moved to a larger location within the market, so I will definitely return for another raclette night—this time with charcuterie (along with more sardines, haha). The restaurant is easy to access via the light rail, and there’s plenty of parking in the garage, which you can get validated in the market."
