"The place has a nice bar vibe but the food was not notable and there was zero care involved in its making aside from the great hygiene of the pizza maker. The finished product reflects the love and it simply wasn’t there. The music in the back was so loud I couldn’t hear what the guy was saying at the register. If you’re going for beers and food isn’t important, this is the place. Service: Takeaway"

"Mikel and the Tanioka's team were so incredible to work with throughout the year+ we were planning our wedding and it is clear they have a smooth running operation. From the start, Mikel was responsive and helpful with all of our questions via email and was happy to hop on phone calls when needed, and promptly provided us with tasting options and quotes. Our wedding wasn't big (60 guests) so to them it was a small event, but they still provided us with so much care and meticulousness that we felt extremely well supported throughout. Tanioka's is an incredibly well equipped operation they provided timely transportation for the food, a heated buffet line set up that looked amazing, attendants to help serve our guests, buffet line takedown and packing up of leftovers, as well as disposable plates, utensils, and napkins that looked great. Most of all, our guests were so impressed with the food (especially the furikake ahi, mochiko chicken, haupia squares, and vegetarian tofu poke) and it was special having guests from the mainland try local food. We're looking forward to working with them in the future!"

"We dropped by for some manapua and ended up leaving with a lot more, haha! The staff was super friendly. Although we had to wait a bit, they surprised us with samples, which was a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend trying the pork hash – we had some from Seven Eleven earlier, but it was so much better here. The Musubi looked super fresh and delicious, and the prices were really good compared to places like Seven Eleven. The manapuas are just the right size for sampling a few so get a couple when you visit. The only baked one is the Charsui, but the other flavors can be steamed or fried, and they're easy to identify by the symbols on top. And make sure you grab a pack of their yummy almond cookies – they're totally worth it! We're so glad we stopped by and supported this awesome local business and recommend you visit there as well!"

"Ordered Sadie Special 27.00 meats burned like black, Korean style butterfish 28.00- outside no flavor inside fish 0- flavor, so happen red color sauce, way to sweet like corn syrup Korean seafood pancake 18.00 massive batter on both sides, very oily very little seafood inside which left half uneaten! Horicha tea should be served hot, came totally cold. Notified server, gave me puzzled look she blamed on last workers didn't plug outlet. I also told her about bad seafood pancake butterfish, she said she isn't the owner will notify. Next table their mandoo came uncooked they had to send back for crispness! There were only 2 tables with us Included, but 4 different takeout walk-in customer orders seem more important since my order came later than my husbands. Called owner he said he was the son of the owner they make food for local taste(sweet) not for Korean taste! Why then they pass off as Korean restaurant? Local people like good tasty food, not just sweet taste as per owner implied. No satisfaction from staff in the restaurant, Called to complain he said I was ranting when actually was complaining- next step, POST terrible review! Infact the owner stated staffing shortage new servers like we need to hear more excuses! See Joshua Wallin 6 month ago post, that's what Seafood or green onion pancake should look like, not mine! To bad I didn't take photo's as evidence!!!"

"I grew up in Waipahu and like to come to this restaurant with my family. During my last visit, I told my family that I don't know why we don't come here more often! I would classify this place as a hole in the wall because of its changing location near an adult camp. This does not prevent us from coming here. Customer service is excellent and their food comes very fast! You have everything on the menu from which your children could choose and the Sashimi was even good and fresh!"
