"Takeout joint that I've been going to for many years when I have a hankering for soul food/bbq. Smoked BBQ chicken, dry rub ribs, and brisket on Fridays. Usually order the beans, mac, greens and/or slaw for sides--and sweet potato pie. Both sweet and hot sauces are my favorite sauce anywhere, with a preference for the hot. Service at the counter can be a little disorganized, but just had a beautiful 1/2 chicken dinner delivered very quickly on a Saturday night. Very flavorful smoky chicken, not too salty or dried out as some bbq chicken can be. Out of many meals I had 1 chicken be a little dry, but that was only once. My favorite bbq in Boston. Much prefer it to Blue Ribbon."

Everything looked and tasted like it was cooked the day before and everything was cold even though I ordered for pickup and was there 15 min before I got my notification.

I placed an online order and unfortunately received the wrong items entirely. The phone number provided isn't working, so I can't reach out to request a new delivery person.

The food was ok , it's definitely not like it use to be. But it's ok .Service was great at the counter. Very pleasant.Parking: The parking is for 4 cars if they park correctly.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for wheelchair

The food is the best and only in the neighborhood but the service absolutely SUCK for no reason. It doesn't take that much to be courteous to people. You should also use some of that PPP money on cleaning up the place. Let's just say I rather drive 15 miles to Somerville for something a little more expensive but a better atmosphere and greater service. View menu

I first was introduced to the PIT STOP in the mid nineties. I have eaten a lot of different restaurants which have barbecue on the menu.I find that the PIT STOP is the best. Now with online ordering capability, which makes it easier to place your order. I used this feature twice. Each time my order was ready when promise. They give you a lot for your money. Outstanding Customer Service!

Years ago I would 've recommended this Family owned spot but I was disappointed with everything, my grandkids didn 't want it and they don 't refuse food. Sadly the ribs were overcooked, and the potatoes in the salad were minced, the yams were interesting can 't describe them. Even the cornbread wasn 't good very dry. I will never spend my hard-earned money there. And you shouldn 't either

I placed an online order and chose the option to pay with cash in person. After waiting several hours for confirmation, I was surprised to find that my order had been canceled. Since I live over 45 minutes away, I wanted to confirm the order before making the trip to the restaurant. Unfortunately, this establishment is lacking in professionalism, as they don’t confirm orders to let customers know that management has received them. It's disappointing to try to support a long-standing local business under these circumstances. View menu

Not for nothing I love that place because it used to be the Banger back in the day but... I want a few days ago I got beef ribs and pork ribs collard greens and the yams.. The yams were excellent... The collard greens honestly tasted like fish and smell like fish. It was cold even though I waited 30 minutes outside, the beef ribs made me think that I was going to lose my cheats for Real no offense to the place.. The portraits were good but it just seemed like they were made the day before and all they did was just throw them inside of container for me. I would rate this place 0 but you can't

This restaurant is a local favorite and definitely worth a stop when you're passing by. It's open late, which is a nice touch. You place your order at the counter, but the space inside is quite cramped and it's really more of a takeout spot. The parking lot had a few people hanging around, but it didn't seem like anyone was ordering. It took a while for the food to be ready, and I must say, it didn't meet my expectations. The beef sausage was dry, and the pulled pork was not only drenched in sauce but also tough. The side dishes were nothing special and not worth trying. If you're looking for good BBQ in the area, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
