"Every time we go the employees are a joy. The sandwiches are huge! I'd split one if my hubby would eat the same sandwich or vice-versa. The meat or whatever you choose, is thick. You know you got an sandwich from them. There are specials on certain days. They might be more expensive but SERIOUSLY you get your money worth and then some. Its better than spending at other fast food restaurants because of the serving size sandwich you get. (I normally bring home half of my sandwich). We go as often as possible. So I encourage you to try them. I promise you'll love them as much as we do. If you leave hungry, then its your fault"

I always enjoy it. Live the sandwiches, tried the fish tonight and it's great, too. Fries are awesome.

Friendly service and great food. Fed a family of 4 well on $50. The fried fish is good and the sandwiches are awesome.

The food was good. Apparently all of their sandwiches are roughly 1 foot long. They are somewhat on the expensive side.

Flew in to Alexandria and heard about Po Boy Express. The sea food was fresh and the bread came from New York. Jimmy was very friendly and treated us with so much care. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend! View menu

The tea was stale, and the BBQ sandwich was overpriced for its quality. They should consider offering combo deals. Paying $60 for two shrimp po'boys, one BBQ sub, one order of fries, one serving of fried green tomatoes, and three drinks is outrageous.

Good service at the drive through. I really liked the fried shrimp poboy and I had a huge side of fried okra, which I loved. I don't get to Alexandria very often, but when I do, I always try to find time for a stop here. It may not be the cheapest place to eat, but I really enjoy it. View menu

We got off the highway while just passing through because the reviews were high. What I learned is that they aren?t high enough. Everything was excellent with special shoutouts to the meatball, shrimp, and boom boom shrimp poboys and the fries. Super nice people as well. Well with the stop.

When I first walked in I didn't know what to expect it was my first time going there. And I loved it! I love the service best of all the man behind the counter was excellent manners were in place and he helped with my order in a very professional manner! I am saying all this because you wouldn't expect this coming from a po-boy shop! And I've been to many of them throughout Louisiana and now that I've had a chance to eat how this Po Boy and the cheesy fries... I'm always going to go back and recommend my friend to go as well!!!

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."

"My friends and I went to Cheesetique for restaurant week. We sat outside. The space was great, the weather was great. Upon arrival, it took a server about 15 minutes to come to our table, and that was only after a friend went inside to ask for someone to service us. The server who had served our friends, who had arrived 10 minutes prior, was bartending. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. The drinks came out relatively soon after. The food took a normal amount of time to come out of the kitchen. We got the watermelon, quinoa salad and truffle balls as apps. There was no dressing with the salad, just spinach leaves, watermelon, and quinoa. It was very basic. The truffle balls, although good, were balls of cheese. They gave huge cheese balls but only 3 tiny pieces of bread. We ordered a Mac and cheese for the table which was not salted very well at all. For the main course, we ordered gnocchi, pot pie, and braised beef. The beef and mashed potatoes were the best. The pot poe and gnocchi were not nearly salted enough. All the food came out 'warm ' at best. Dessert was fine. Overall, not at all worth the amount we paid for restaurant week. We were left disappointed. The service was slow. I do understand they might have been short staffed, but even waitresses who were not our servers looked as us, after being there for 15 min and walked past. We asked someone to get us water, which was never brought to us, so overall, disappointed in our dining experience, considering how much we paid."
