"Half our party arrived early and it was so convenient to be able to grab a quick drink at the bar before the remainder of our friends arrived. The service was friendly and courteous, and the food arrived quickly and was delicious! Not ridiculously overpriced or anything either which was surprise for the neighborhood/area. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back!"

If you love seafood, make a reservation. My favorite restaurant in the DMV.

Hank's is a terrfic Old Town restaurant, and it was a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood here some 15 years ago. I'll check out the new location, but nothing beats this one.

The oysters were fresh and delicious. You could put liver on the roll they use for the lobster roll and it would be delicious. Great Lobster Roll. The fried oysters were so good. View menu

The service was very good. All the staff worked together. The small seafood plateau was more than enough for the two us when we added to sides. The collard greens and onion rings were delicious!

We ordered the seafood plateau and were very disappointed. The lobster tail was rubbery, the claws were water logged, sand was in the clams, and the ceviche had an odd flavor like the spice level was off. Very disappointing for a $100 menu item.

Sat down for a quiet lunch and a table of 6 women were sat next to us. They had no regard for anyone in the restaurant and were incredibly loud…. I enjoyed my meal, but could not wait to get out of the restaurant as their voices echoed off of the walls like nails on a chalkboard !!! View menu

This last visit was no different than previous ones, great. Hank's is moving to a new location in two days but we made a reservation to give it one last go. The service was great but I forgot our waiter's name he was timely, helpful, and very nice. The best entrée of the night is the mixed seafood grill you won't be disappointed.

Excellent food and terrific service! The proprietary Sea Wolff oysters are the best…they are so fresh. We wanted to enjoy a night at Hank’s before they closed for a couple weeks due to their move to a new location nearby. We can hardly wait to stop by when they’re open!! We also enjoyed the clam chowder and the trout dinner. Amazing flavors.

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."
