"It's no New Shanghai in Lake Forest! That remains our #1 always. This was ok. Doing some things fairly well, but not amazing. Ok flavors, but I wasn't thrilled with the quality of the meat. Cream cheese wontons had little flavor. Paper wrapped chicken had no flavor and was questionable as it if it was completely cooked inside. Teo main dishes tasted very similar though claimed to be different sauces. Busy and understaffed, so seemed to be in a hurry. We aren't planning to return since it's at least a $50 dinner just for the three of us. Photos of House crispy beef, orange chicken, paper wrapped chicken, and cream cheese wontons"

Very friendly nice staff delicious food! Still open during the lockdown for pickup/delivery. It was ready very quickly too. I've gotten delivery from them in the past and it's always very quick.

Rude people are working there. Dirty place. Food on the floor, napkins not picked up. Dingy, dusty, pay counter full of old stuff that looks like it's been there for years, overall uncomfortable.

We stopped by for lunch and ordered the Broccoli Beef and Orange Chicken from the lunch menu. The meals came with soup, rice, and an egg roll. In addition, we also ordered chicken chow mein. The food and service were both good. View menu

The food at this restaurant is excellent, you can't make a wrong choice from their menu. The orange chicken is delicious, as well as their vegan version of the dish. The Chicken Chow Mein and fried rice are also very tasty. The Kung Pau tofu is full of flavor.

My experience at this restaurant on 05/16/2022 was terrible. I ordered the beef broccoli and ended up getting food poisoning that same night. The beef had a strange texture, indicating it was probably already bad. I strongly advise against ordering from this place.

Be rude ONE MORE TIME and I will make sure the world knows no matter how good your food is, if you treat people badly like I was treated, you will lose business. If you are SO busy you cant be polite to people in person (like me) or on the phone (like I watched in horror as I waited), you better hire more people. View menu

Pretty good take out. I thought the portions were generous and food was pretty legit. Their take out is very efficient. You call in and they are ready within 15 minutes or so. Everything was pretty tasty and not too oily. During covid times, they seem to have a pretty organized system where you can stand outside and wait. There isn't too much overcrowding because they blockade where customers can stand. I would come here again.

We ordered Kung pao chicken and lemon chicken. The Kung pao tasted very fishy, maybe it was deep fried in the same oil as fish. But that alone doesn't seem like it would account for how terrible it was. The lemon chicken barely had any chicken in it. It was cut very thin and then battered, but there was more batter than chicken and many pieces had no chicken at all. Both dishes were just awful. None of us could finish them and we just threw them both away.

"I recently visited Izakaya Takasei and had a mixed experience. My boyfriend and I ordered the takoyaki, chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl, several yakitori, takowasabi (raw octopus with wasabi), and the Kobe beef roll. While the takoyaki and yakitori were delicious, the chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl was really bland. The Kobe beef roll was a bit odd with the combination of garlic butter and tataki sauce. Unfortunately, there were also a few items on the menu that were no longer available, which was a bit disappointing. It would be good for the restaurant to update their menu to avoid any confusion or disappointments. While the food at Izakaya Takasei comes out quickly, this can also be a double-edged sword. During my visit, my boyfriend and I received several dishes at once, which meant that a lot of our food was sitting out and getting cold while we were eating the others. It would be great if the kitchen could pace the dishes better to ensure that everything is served at the optimal temperature. The service was a bit lackluster as well. The only time we were able to ask for condiments, utensils, and more water was when the employees brought our food out. No one checked on us throughout our meal, and it would have been nice to have a more attentive staff. On the plus side, the restaurant has nice Japanese decor and is quite spacious. However, there was no background music, which made the ambiance a bit dull.Overall, while there were some drawbacks, Izakaya Takasei may be worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Japanese cuisine. Just be sure to join the wait-list on Yelp beforehand and check in with the host when you arrive."

"A Delightful Breakfast Experience at the Black Bear DinerI recently had the pleasure of dining at the Black Bear Diner, and I must say, it was a remarkable experience that left me feeling satisfied and impressed. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The aroma of hickory smoke bacon filled the air, immediately whetting my appetite and setting the stage for a memorable breakfast.I opted for the classic combination of hickory smoke bacon, over medium eggs, country potatoes, and a medley of red and green peppers and red onions. The skillful preparation of these ingredients resulted in a dish that was nothing short of perfection. The bacon was delightfully crisp, and the eggs were cooked just the way I like them. The country potatoes were seasoned to perfection, and the colorful blend of peppers and onions added a delightful touch of flavor and texture. Every bite was a symphony of taste that left me craving more. What truly made this dining experience stand out was the exceptional service provided by Jennifer, our server. She effortlessly managed the bustling restaurant, seamlessly attending to both dine-in customers and those placing orders to go. Despite the demands of her role, Jennifer always had a smile on her face and treated each customer with the utmost care and attention. Her warmth and efficiency made us feel right at home, and it was clear that she genuinely enjoyed her work. The coffee at the Black Bear Diner deserves special mention. It was outstanding—rich, smooth, and the perfect complement to my meal. It was clear that the diner takes pride in the quality of their beverages as much as their food. The overall ambiance of the Black Bear Diner was cozy and inviting. The rustic decor and friendly staff created an atmosphere that was welcoming and comforting. It was the kind of place that made you want to stay and linger, savoring each moment and enjoying the company of loved ones.In conclusion, my visit to the Black Bear Diner was a truly delightful experience.
