Ate here in the late 70's. Worst BBQ ever Do not waste your money! Memphis has many many much finer places!

I love all kinds of BBQ. This was probably the worst BBQ I have ever had. The meet was dry, tough, stringy. Meal was lukewarm. Service was marginal.

This was the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. Not only the worst food and service, our food was served on paper plates and plastic fork and knife. Needless to say, we would not recommend this place, nor will we return to Rendezvous. View menu

we had the best server ever! I wish that eating matched his extraordinary service and attention to our family. we all liked the atmosphere of the restaurant very much. it has many corners and cracks. that's good. fun bar area brick and old world decor.

The first time we went, the place was closed. The second trip we wanted to try the dry ribs. They seemed small and not that tender. The waiter missed the fact that we were there before another table, and it annoyed us that they were served before us. I liked the sandwich I got, but the ribs were not all that meaty and dried out.

We were in Memphis for the Liberty Bowl rooting for the winning TU team. We ate at Rendezvous on Friday night after the Liberty Bowl Parade. They told us that the wait was about 40 minutes considering the number of people there, but we did not wait that long. The ribs were awesome as well as the side dish of beans. As far as the food goes, it was as I had expected. I wasn't all that hungry and so I only had the BBQ nachos. The downfall came when the bill arrived. I was with a group of about fifteen and we were told that we would have to separate the bill ourselves. This took one member of our party over thirty minutes to do. Mainly, because he had to separate everyone's orders and then figure out the gratuity that had already been added in. I have never had an experience such as this while dining out. And, more than likely, I will not be going back.

The ribs are outstanding, some of the best I have ever had anywhere in the country (and I travel everywhere). Smoked with great seasonings rubbed in. They are tender and good both dry or with their medium or hot sauce. Served with small portions of beans and slaw, but you won't go hungry as there is plenty of meat on the bones. Only three dollars difference between full and half rack, it is worth getting the full rack even if you take some home. They only serve one type of beer on tap and no desert. I felt the service was awful, due to the rudeness of the waiter. I was with a group of about twenty, ten of which were children. He spoke loudly to the children as well as to the adults. I know without a doubt that neither I nor any of the group will return to this establishment. I don 't recall his name; however he kept mentioning how long he had work there. It was thirty-five to forty years of service. One example of his rude behavior was that the manager asked that some of our group sit at the bar and he stated loudly ;I don 't care what the manager said you need to sit where I told you to sit ;.
