"I appreciate the effort and always tip, but there are quite a few issues. Ordering Pad Thai at a mild heat level doesn’t mean it should lack flavor. The Pad Thai was bland and I could taste fish sauce, which shouldn’t overpower the dish. Even with mild spice, there should be plenty of garlic, but that was missing. I’ve made Pad Thai myself, and it definitely shouldn’t taste like that. You need lots of garlic without excessive heat if that’s what the customer wants. It feels like the quality has declined, probably due to frequent changes in the cooking staff. As for other dishes, the peanut sauce scored a 3 out of 10, and that’s generous—mostly for the effort. The chicken satay was disappointing, maybe a 1 out of 10, with barely any chicken, which was dry and burnt. It would be better to serve fewer, larger pieces at $7 rather than messing up the dish. The fresh spring rolls were good, but when one end is missing something, there should be another to compensate. Still, the lack of a decent peanut sauce and insufficient sweet sauce make it less enjoyable. It’s unfortunate that the peanut sauce and Pad Thai aren’t as good as they used to be."

The food is quite good, but the curries could benefit from a bit more meat. For example, I ordered the yellow curry and found only a small amount of meat, which didn't seem justified given the price. However, the overall flavor was pleasant.

The pad rad na and drunken noodles were both exceedingly fiery, rated a 5 out of 10 for spiciness (previously, the dish was rated a low 3 out of 19 with zero spice). Even if we had appreciated the flavors, the portions were disappointingly small. We won't be ordering from this restaurant again.

Quite disappointed with my experience. I ordered the chicken red curry, but the chicken was tough and boiled, and the curry tasted like the pre-packaged A Taste Of Thai brand from a grocery store—very weak and watery. The rice didn’t seem to be jasmine; it honestly reminded me of boxed instant white rice. The drunken noodles were just average, with tough beef and lacking sauce. They also forgot to include the side of fish sauce and fresh Thai chilies I requested. The Thai sampler plate was mediocre, and the frying on the appetizer plate was subpar. Honestly, it’s disappointing to pay $40 and receive something that doesn’t feel authentic at all—more like a poor imitation.

If Salween Thai Rest offered a few more fresh vegetables for just a little extra cost, I’d be more inclined to order from them frequently. The soup was exceptional, featuring twice the amount of meat and vegetables compared to a nearby spot. It also had a generous serving of kaffir lime leaves and plenty of coconut milk. Having worked in Laos, Cambodia, and China, and lived in Thailand, the fresh herbs really bring back memories of Asia. While the flavors might be slightly milder to suit Nebraskan tastes, I don’t see that as a negative. A splash of fish sauce, a sprinkle of roasted rice, and some sun-dried chilies—this truly captures the essence of Laos! The only thing missing are the occas... View menu

"First, the restaurant is super cool. You enter and immediately see the open kitchen and bar below. We were seated with a great view of the working kitchen. It was our anniversary and they presented us with complimentary bubbly and a menu that read Happy Anniversary at the top. Our server was prompt and kind. We ordered apps and our meal at the same time. Apps were a little slow but we don 't mind taking our time. The andouille sausage over grits was good but a bit oversalted. The croquettes were good but somewhat mushy. Overall flavor profile was good. Some time passed after completing our appys and began to notice the kitchen plating dishes and entrees being served to every table except ours. Again, not in a hurry so we weren 't upset. But it became excessive. Large groups seated while we had appetizers were served their entrees. Small tables seated after we finished our appetizers were served. The kitchen can put out food fast, just not ours. So now our apps are expanding in our belly and our excitement about our meals are diminishing. Finally our entrees arrived. My snapper raw. So sad. The gnocchi was ok but again, way over salted. But the flavor profile was so good. This had the ability to be amazing. My husband ordered the wagyu flank steak. It was just not good. He barely ate one piece and left his sides as again they were way way over salted. Our server noticed that we barely ate our meals and spent time asking for feedback. She was very kind and the manager discounted my meal (which I did not want, but appreciate). Anyway, we probably won 't be back. Good presentations. Very good flavor profiles. Failure to deliver overall though due to extremely salty, improper cooking and extraordinary wait times. Hopefully they can improve as some other recent reviews reflect similar feedback."
