"The first thing to say is that this restaurant seems to be listed under two different names, the other being La Espiga de Oro . Not sure why... Anyway, everything we ordered was great. The beans in particular were about the best either me or my wife have ever had. You can be sure they use some lard in there somewhere, if my sense of smell serves me right. The cheese chile relleno was delicious, and my wife 's enchiladas were surprisingly tasty for the (apparently) unseasoned chicken inside. The chips were fresh and the sauces interesting. The guacamole was cold and spot on, although it needed salt badly IMO. (note: the guacamole is a menu item, not from the sauce bar). Be warned, some of the sauces at the sauce bar can be very hot! Not for your average Northerner. And the decor and atmosphere are nothing to write home about. Kind of stark. But the food is good, and that 's the main thing; you 're not going to come here on a fancy date anyway... So give this place a try when in Clovis."

The wait for our food was extremely long, and when it finally arrived, everything was cold.

They serve the best carne asada burritos and tacos in the area! Everything is fresh and clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Don't forget to grab a pack of fresh flour or corn tortillas for a delightful family dinner! View menu

The birria tacos, accompanied by chopped onions and cilantro and served with the birria stew on the side, were absolutely delicious. Dipping your crunchy taco into the beef stew creates a mouthwatering experience with every bite.

The best tacos and authentic Mexican soups I've had in a long time. Just a heads up, it gets quite busy during lunchtime. Also, check out the neighboring store for Latin groceries. I've made amazing tacos at home using meat from their butcher and their homemade tortillas.

Authentic cuisine, excellent service, cleanliness, reasonable prices, and plenty of parking make this place a great choice. There's also a market next door if you want to purchase ingredients to prepare meals at home. We called in our order ahead of time, and it was ready when we arrived. The location is conveniently situated just off the main road, making it easy to access if you're passing through and looking for something tasty. I give it a solid 4 stars! View menu

The restaurant isn't what it used to be. I'm not sure if the woman I spoke to today is the owner, but she was quite rude. When I expressed my hope that the pork would be good this time and not resemble chicharrones, she suggested I just go to McDonald's if I didn't like it. I explained that I had come back to see if things had improved. She also claimed it was the second time I had left a message, but that wasn't true; I was confronting her in person today. By the way, I think the USDA should enforce stricter regulations.

After reading reviews decided to give this local hot spot a shot. The location has plenty of parking and ample seating for dinning in. The decor is a bit dated but is well kept and clean. The menu is extensive with a wide variation of Mexican food. The set up is you go to counter to order and pay then they deliver your food to your table. Decided on enchiladas with green sauce and chile relleno. Order was delivered quickly and warm. The chips and salsa were tasty and they have a large salsa bar. I didn't care for the beef enchilada but the chicken and cheese were excellent. The relleno was not much to look at but was surprisingly delicious. The beans and rice were well cooked but nothing to...

"I hadn't been to Prime 13 since it opened several years ago, not for any particular reason. We visited for a Father's Day dinner celebration as it is a local steakhouse. The restaurant is beautiful, dark but relaxed ambiance. Full for a Thursday and it seemed kid friendly which we appreciated as parents-to-be. Patrons were in very relaxed summer attire so it didn't feel so fancy that you had to dress up. They only had two mocktails, tried the one with cucumber and it was very refreshing but at $10 I felt it was a bit overpriced at only $5 less than regular cocktails. They have a pretty good date night option for weeknights so we picked two small salads, one protein dish to split and one side with two (very small) desserts. We added on a starter that we probably could've done without but we wanted to try the Cajun bites. It was steak tips in salsa with chips. Good but not great. For the start of dinner our salads were okay, mine was pretty basic dinner salad I would've preferred the wedge but it's not an option with the special even though it's priced the same. Now for the tomahawk steak, this is where they wowed. It was huge!! we couldn't even finish half and VERY tasty and tender. Definitely the star of our visit; the sides were once again good but not great, for the seasonal veggies they brought out seasoned corned and we added on the hatch Mac and cheese (not spicy at all, which I was happy about) otherwise the special only comes with one side. My husband had two cocktails he said were good but he didn't seem overly impressed compared to other old fashioned's he's had. Overall we did enjoy our dinner and thought the service was good. We had them package our desserts to go. It was a chocolate mousse pie and creme brûlée. I liked my brûlée but it was a tiny portion, (not that I needed more). after all of our add ons and tip we spent several hundred dollars. I'd visit again to try other selections but for the value (minus the steak) it's not breaking into my favorite local places for a nice dinner."
