"This place may not be ideal for those who are uncomfortable in non-vegetarian restaurants. There is a long list of meat sandwiches served. Still, the quality and selection of vegan desserts were amazing. There is a dessert case devoted exclusively to vegan cakes (about 6-8 choices), and I found it hard to choose. I went with the raspberry chocolate mousse cake, and was glad I did. It's shocking that a place that's not exclusively vegan can do such a great job; the cake was fresh, light, smooth, and perfect. It had no overly sugary or fatty taste or texture, as some novice attempts at vegan desserts tend to have. I've never had a better vegan dessert in any bakery or restaurant, after fifteen years of being vegan. For an entree of sorts, the only real option is the hummus and veggie sandwich (called Eat Your Veggies), which good and served on excellent, fresh bread, although for non-vegans there is a veggie cheeseburger."

Southern Sweets is tricky to find, but worth it. Their vegan coconut cake and carrot cake are moist and flavorful. The vegan chocolate items are the smoothest, richest chocolate desserts anywhere.

southern sweets had a delicious selection of cakes, including carrot, cocose, caramel, skyberry mousse and wrench (pee.) the portions are extremely generous. there are many gluten-free options, but none are listed as vegan as well.

They have a black bean burger that can be made vegan which tastes pretty good but isn't necessarily bursting with flavor. There's a plethora of vegan desserts. They also make salads that can be made vegan. If you're a vegan, then come here for the desserts. View menu

My fiance proposed to me over a piece of vegan cake from Southern Sweets. It was a smart move on his part and now we're going to hopefully have our wedding cake from there Their vegan cake isn't over the top but it is actually better than non-vegan cake! So much variety, too!

I purchased this cake for our Christmas dessert and it is, without a doubt, the best cake I have ever tasted in my 56 years! The layers were incredibly moist and not too dense. The chocolate mousse was perfection and the mascarpone on the outside provided the perfect balance. Yum!

All of the vegan desserts are phenomenal. In fact, the girl working behind the counter said that the vegan caramel cake is better than the one made with dairy and eggs! I didn't get the vibe that many of the staff were vegan, but they were very enthusiastic about all of the vegan options. Great food and great service! Highly recommend.

I discovered this restaurant through a Google search for breakfast options near me. My business is located on College Ave, so we are often limited to Waffle House or a drive into downtown Decatur. This place turned out to be a hidden gem! From the mouthwatering cakes on display (they have every dessert you could imagine) to the delectable breakfast and lunch menu, and the charming interior decor, this place definitely deserves 5 stars.
