"Location, interior, food service and staff everything is perfect. Beautiful view to the ocean, life music, excellent cocktails, the atmosphere was awesome. A few words about food, unfortunately it does not reach the level of the restaurant, I understand that salmon is most likely transported from the mainland, but tuna should be as fresh and tasty as it possible. I ordered O toro and Chu toro, the most tender parts of the tuna, but they weren't as tender as should be. I expected that tuna in this level of Hawaiian restaurant is much higher quality than on the mainland, but this is not so."

The restaurant is situated in the Grand Hyatt, and it's fantastic! I kept my expectations in check because resort dining can be hit or miss, but Stevenson truly exceeded them.

If you're from Los Angeles, I wouldn't recommend this place. My husband and daughter enjoy sushi, so we go at least once a month in Orange County. Personally, I don't eat seafood...

Wow, delicious! Great job with this place—it’s so much better than Tidepools. The service was quick and fantastic, and the food was delightful. The cocktails were outstanding, and I’m thrilled to finally find a restaurant that offers fair prices. All in all, excellent! View menu

We really enjoyed this place- so much so we went back 2 nights in a row. The sushi was incredible- the best we have ever had. Fairly good spirits menu, at least compared to other places we went. Great atmosphere. Delicious cocktails. We were staying atthe Hyatt, but I would say this place is worth a trip even if you arent staying there!

Loved the college library style ambience . Good cocktail selection . Hardly any vegetarian option , the sesame spinach and veggie rolls saved the dinner . The rolls were fresh and delicious, excellent plating too. Family enjoyed their ShipWreck andhamachi . Tiramisu in sushi style was brilliance . And delicious too. Would have given 5 stars if the service wasn?t slow. Thestaff was helpful and friendly but the restaurant was more than crowded.

Some of the best sushi we have ever had, anywhere. Everything was prepared to perfection. Tuna, salmon, local fish, all incredibly fresh. We also enjoy some of the fish cheek, as well as the lobster/crab dish. Special thanks to our sushi Chef, Angel, for some amazing service and unmatched plate preparation. Add in the views, and it's a perfect sushi experience. Book ahead of you can, but the bar is a great way to enjoy if you don't have a table! View menu

Oh my sushi. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. Hamachi Carpaccio is a great way to start along with a signature cocktail. I tried the war peach cocktail which is quite fruity, but very good. We had the Stevenson, Black Rock and the Shipwreck sushirolls. All were amazing and we really wanted to try the Ke Kai. The lobster dynamite comes in a lobster shell and was ok.DESERT IS A MUST HAVE: Tiramisushi!!! Robert Louis Stevenson with the island rose poem and the view! Eat your heart out!????????????????????????????

This is hands down the best sushi on the island! Lele Kavai is an outstanding server—she's incredibly friendly and has a warm Aloha spirit. The atmosphere is fantastic with a stunning ocean view. The setting is cozy and features dim lighting, creating a delightful ambiance. It's like a library of fresh seafood and sushi rolls. My husband and I began our meal with miso soup and sushi pizza. The Lobster Dynamite is an absolute must-try—cooked to perfection! I highly recommend their specialty rolls; the sushi is truly a work of art, and every bite is a delight.

"We were so excited for this very big dinner splurge we booked after our helicopter tour of Kaua’i. Unfortunately very disappointed. Absolutely the lowest rating I’ve ever given any restaurant, not to mention one with the high price point. The two stars is for our waiter. The positives: nice location with open air atmosphere so hope you can catch a breeze. Also, the cute little salt container on the tables was delicious salt for your food. You’ll need it. The wine was good. Our favorites from this restaurant were the Cesar salad and Parmesan French fries. We got there at opening and before we could order the restaurant was out of a white fish option so replaced with ahi tuna instead. Those are not the same type of fish, nor should they be cooked the same way. Also, the island restaurants brag endlessly that their fish is fresh daily so how do you run out at opening? Hubby had a basic filet and I had the duo (filet and fish) as I can generally tolerate a more cooked ahi tuna. I didn’t even finish the tuna, because it was cooked like the white fish (seared in a Parmesan crust and then baked). The kitchen should have changed the cooking method for the seafood option when they ran out of white fish. The menu options were limited which should have been our first clue to leave. The filets were bland and small. The portions were small. The crab cakes appetizer at a whopping $24 was TWO very small crab cakes (two bites tops). Our tab with tip was $250 and the worst meal we’ve had on vacation, maybe ever. We left still hungry and picked up snacks at the Living Foods store in the area and quite frankly regretted we just didn’t eat at that restaurant in the first place. We also regretted not just paying the wine and appetizers bill when the waiter said they were out of white fish, which cut the limited menu even further, and left. Lesson learned. There are plenty of other good restaurants in the area, don’t choose this one."
