"Amazing place to stumble upon. While it had been recommended to me, I had yet to make it there and decided to check it out quickly while running an errand in Irvington and am so glad I did. Immediately is an obvious top 5 restaurant in Indy in my opinion. The space is retrofitted as a tiki lounge more than a bar because while you have the aesthetics of a tiki bar, the design is very intentionally accented with nice features that allow the feel to be that of a restaurant still as well.Katie, the bartender, was fantastic. Great recommendations, casual conversation and even better execution on the drinks themselves. The Colada is described as 2 per person limit so I couldn’t skip that perfect smoothness and creaminess flavor wise and was steered in the direction of the Firebird for my second and had the perfect level of heat/spice in the back of your throat.Food wise it was apparent immediately you can’t go wrong with anything. Definitely the best quality and value Oyster Happy Hour I have found thus far in the city, and am glad this place isn’t closer because I’d go all of the time. The wings were perfect and the Hiyashi Chuka was a perfect chilled noodle dish for summer.Truly can’t say enough about how dope this place is and while I want nothing but smashing success for them, don’t want it to blow up too much because it’s such a gem, but regardless, I’ll be back a lot. Parking was available and easy as a bonus and definitely am looking forward to checking out their bakery they share a space with as well.Vegetarian options: Have a great amount of options and alternative substitutes to accommodate and restrictions dietary wise.Dietary restrictions: Have a great amount of options and alternative substitutes to accommodate and restrictions dietary wise."

Not happy being presented without warning anywhere with a bill with 23% of gratuity added automatically (20% 3% kitchen). I don't appreciate being taken advantage of.

Another great meal from Strange Bird. I absolutely love the fun tiki vibe in this restaurant, the amazing food, and the stellar drinks. The service is always great. Come early for half price oysters!

Strange Bird offers a great atmosphere. It is intimate with diverse patrons and great food drinks! Vegetarian options are delicious. I cannot get enough of their Glazed Tofu Rice Bowl!Staff is super welcoming!

Recently it appears that they have tried to cut back on portion size. I have pictures of ramen as recent as the new year where the bowl contains more ingredients. Just a really disappointing and overpriced experience. View menu

Grab a seat at the bar, chat with the friendly staff, and start with a stiff and delightful tropical cocktail. You can't go wrong with the ramen but last time I went I had these curry tossed wings that blew my mind. I'm a big wing guy and these were the most uniquely wonderful wings I've had in a long time.

We had a heck of a good time here. The cocktails were amazing, not overly sweet like so many cocktail bars. We also got a flight of rum, which wasn't on the menu, but they put together a fun and unusual selection for us. We had oysters and teriyaki wings, which were both top notch. The wings exceeded my expectations with a house made teriyaki sauce and dill ranch dressing. So yummy!Parking: Parking lot in front, plenty of spots when we were there.

A delightfully idiosyncratic restaurant on Indy's east side. Everything about it feels like a vacation. Our cocktails a Saturn and a daiquiri) were delicious and quite strong. The oysters $1.50/each on Sundays) were delicious. We enjoyed our gyōza, which had a perfect sear and great flavor. I loved my Tokyo Shoyu ramen I'm no connoisseur, but the flavors were unique and unexpected in the best way. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the music is fantastic. View menu

This restaurant will forever be my favorite spot. It’s hard to even decide what I loved best about my experience last weekend. The service was all around outstanding. The host, the waitress, the cooks that walked by and checked on us were all so kind. Now, when I say this food was the best food I’ve ever had, you’re just going to have to see for yourself but I’ll rant for a minute. The ramen was absolutely amazing! The dumplings, perfect. The sweet WINGS were seriously the best wings I’ve ever had in my life. Lastly, the drinks were top notch, unique, and fun!To top it all off the music was awesome and was at a volume level that allowed my table to comfortably talk while also randomly jamming...

Strange Bird landed in historic Irvington in 2019 with a winning combination of tiki style cocktails, oysters, and made from scratch ramen. There 's definitely more in store than the name suggests. While it sounds like a stop off for those cravin ' the avian, Strange Bird is a little piece of paradise for foodies. Patrons flock in from all over to enjoy the laid back ambience and full flavor food like the curry rice or the spicier Tantanmen ramen. Vegan options are excellent as well (recommend the Tokyo ramen . Happy hour (half price oysters goes from 5 pm 6 pm (ET . Tuesday through Saturday and all evening Sunday. Fans of the raw bar can also order up Peruvian, sashimi grade poke. Another f...

"My son was in from California so we wanted to take him to Tony’s. We have been before and think highly of the restaurant. Positives: Calamari, wedge, steaks and pasta were very good.Positives: My mother who is very picky loved her steak although she did send it back because it was not hot when it came to the table. She still raved about it even after that. That is really something.Negatives: Lobster tail was so over cooked it came out all curled up. It took me a minute to even figure it out. I sent it back. They asked if I wanted another one. I said “no”. I was getting full anyway so no reason to add another to the bill since they obviously do not know how to cook it. Suggestion if you don’t know how to cook it then take it off of the menuNegative: Preoccupied waiter. I would have gotten a glass of wine with dinner. Waiter never asked. I have been to Tony’s before and have had very attentive waiters. Not this time.Negative: Not Tony’s fault but a large table by us were drunk and very loud. Negative: I have no desire to come back. Their steaks are very good but if you can’t cook a lobster tail it puts Tony’s as a great steakhouse in Indy at the bottom of the list. Their credibility is gone to me. Suggestion: Bringing a nice piece of desert to the table on the house would have been a nice gesture and then I may have wanted to come back. They had a full house so a party of was probably not a priority"

"Inside, you’ll find seating at tables and the bar, along with a pleasant patio area that overlooks the sidewalk. They also have a self-serve water station in the front. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. I chose to sit at the bar, and it appeared to have not been wiped down all day. The floor was quite dirty as well. The staff did what was necessary, but seemed to lack enthusiasm. You can customize your own bowl or select one of their signature options. Feeling adventurous, I decided to create my own bowl. Regardless of your choice, you start with a base. I opted for traditional sushi rice over brown rice and spring mix salad. Next, I had to select a protein. The size of your bowl determines how many scoops you receive. The regular size allows for two scoops, so I chose one scoop of spicy tuna and one of marinated salmon, although options like octopus, tofu, and shrimp are also available. After that, you can add various toppings and sauces. I have to admit, my bowl was quite tasty and packed with protein. The atmosphere was relaxed, with music playing softly in the background. Unlike the other location I've visited, this one doesn't offer shaved ice, just poke. Overall, I found this place to be just average compared to other locations I've tried, which is why I’m giving it a 3-star rating. The poke was decent, but everything else felt pretty standard at best."
