"This was my second visit to Sunshine Cafe, and the food was just as delicious as I remembered. The owner, Maria, is truly a warm and welcoming presence! The atmosphere felt cozy and homey, like enjoying a homemade meal at a relative’s house. We tried the lox bagel and the Mediterranean tuna sandwich — both were flavorful, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Maria also treated us to complimentary lentil soup and some extra homemade hot sauce to take home. She even welcomed our dog, giving him plenty of ham, which he absolutely loved. Our furry friend enjoyed the place just as much as we did. Highly recommend visiting Sunshine Cafe — we’ll definitely be returning! Sunshine Cafe is fantastic. I discovered it online, and the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I ordered the avocado toast, though there were plenty of options to choose from. Be sure to try the coconut cake—you won’t regret it. The coffee is excellent, and they serve homemade chimichurri with their sandwiches. I rarely leave reviews, but this place truly deserves it. I also enjoyed the empanadas and grabbed some items to go. They use organic ingredients and offer fresh natural juices. Highly recommended! Sunshine Cafe is truly one of my top favorites in Astoria, a unique and special find! The woman crafting the incredible, flavorful dishes is the kindest and most caring mom you could imagine. Did I mention how delicious the food is? Every dish is homemade, perfectly seasoned, and authentically prepared with so much love and attention. I absolutely adore this place! We enjoyed the lentil soup, vegetable tagine, lamb with rice, and several desserts—all outstanding. And I almost forgot to mention the hot sauce—it was so good I was practically eating it with a spoon. Service was excellent, perfect for a lunch visit. Price per person falls between $10 and $20. "I was quite surprised by some of the reviews because I had an incredible sandwich there this past Thanksgiving weekend. We were in the area and stumbled upon the place while searching for lunch, and it was our first time visiting. I ordered the Le French Baguette, and I can confidently say it was the best sandwich I've had in over a year—perhaps even longer. I'm still thinking about it and might be becoming a bit obsessed! Everything tasted incredibly fresh: the bread, the ham, the generous slices of brie, the lettuce, and the tomato. Each ingredient complemented the others perfectly, and the Dijon mustard added just the right kick. Since it was made to order, it took about 10 minutes, but it was absolutely worth the wait. I enjoyed it about 15 minutes after picking it up, and there was no sogginess at all. The portion was generous, and the price was very reasonable. Although we live in Manhattan, I will definitely be making a trip back there. I'm looking forward to it and hope they can maintain their high standards!"

"Visited around 10am on a Saturday for brunch. Restaurant was busy but had indoor and outdoor seating available. Reservation accepted for parties of 6 or more only. Brunch menu has not only the expected dishes, like omelettes, French toast, and pancakes, but also interesting choices like huevos rancheros, eggs with bulgogi, and prosciutto toast with eggs.
