"I love coming to Suruki because hello, the location is great. I can finish my shopping sushi! In the SAME PLAZA. You always have specials on hand and the Bento Box is usually a steal. Besides, if you are lucky, you will go if your chicken teriyaki is the special and order some shrimp empura on the side. I always get her hand rolls, Edamame or her spicy chicken wings (which are not even sharp). They also have daily specialties. Monday is $1.99 handrolls, Tuesday is 0.99 spam masubis (I think), Wednesday (I think) is Chicken Teriyaki scarves, and Thursday is their spicy chicken wings. Although many people give this place a bad representative, because the customer service many employees here are high school sophomores-seniors, as their first work. This is not an excuse, but the place is busy and the frustration seems to all go to the FOH staff. I once asked why a few orders came faster than others, and it is because they work a cook on hot food other on the sushi. If there is a person who does every thing, it naturally makes sense why other foods come faster than others. If so, the hot dishes are ready, I have seen the other cook help the sushi manufacturer. I wish this place was a little big, I know that the place would eventually fill out as it does. Call before time expect your food to be ready in about 20-30 minutes during the busy hours, or 15 minutes during the non-business hours. Plus, I like this place allows you to customize your Bengo, not like other sushi places in the area. You can't beat her teriyaki sauce honestly. I tried other sushi shops in Vallejo, but this one HANDS down has the best sauce. So believe me, it's worth waiting."

Update: I've been visiting this restaurant occasionally, and I wanted to share an update from two years ago. The quality is still excellent, and I've yet to have a bad experience. I’m bumping my rating from 4 to 5 stars!

If you are looking for very basic inexpensive options this is a great place to go. Clean. Pretty friendly staff. Requested brown rice and was told it would be a additional $2. Ended up not getting anything. My guest ordered the Cherry Blossom.

Second time visiting california and wanted to get sushi with my brother and friends, so we decided to go to this place. It was our first time, and it was AWESOME. It was pretty expensive but there was 5 of us, and it was WORTH it. Definately reccomend this place

A great informal spot to have a tasty Japanese lunch. They have bento boxes, donburri, ramen, and a host of other choices. We have tried several dishes and found them all quite good. The spacing is a bit tight, but we found spots to sit down and tuck in to tasty, filling food. The staff is helpful and cheerful, we will be going back.
