"This place is literally a hole in the wall, and difficult to find, but it is spotlessly clean, and the service is great. Located on the interior of an office building behind a pizza place, a Washington Sports Club, and an art store, they stay in business because their food is good enough for people to seek them out. Strictly a cash and carry joint , but they have everything from sushi to bento boxes to tempura to teriyaki, well prepared and reasonably priced (for downtown DC). there are several tables outside the restaurant, but they are general use, not specific to the restaurant. I like the teriyaki and the sushi, but I'm not adventurous enough to try the more exotic dishes even though they are probably excellent. Only complaint the lunch rush can seem a bit disorganized, although they're pretty good about first in, first out."

I've been dining here for nearly 15 years, and the sushi is always fantastic!

Stellar preparation, flavors, and service. A hidden gem (seriously, it’s hard to find)

This place is truly a hidden gem. 11/10 recommend. Great prices and very quick and delicious. My coworkers and I order sometimes and it always makes our days.

The food here is fantastic! It's the most affordable and delicious sushi in DC! It's absolutely worth a visit. If you're having trouble locating it, it's on the top floor of the office building. View menu

I eat here when I am working at a close location. The line here for lunch gets really long so you know it's great. I usually get the bento with miso soup. Sometimes I get snacks like pocky or mochi.

This place is similar to Sushi Stop on the East Coast, but there's no need to tip since it's counter service. The prices for individual rolls are quite affordable, but you can find even better value with their combo options. There is seating available, but it's not the kind of place for a leisurely sit-down meal.

This is a fantastic little place for sushi at lunch. While it has a simple atmosphere, the quality of the fish and sushi rice is excellent. The portion sizes are somewhat smaller, so it's a good idea to order a few items if you're feeling hungry. However, the prices are more affordable compared to other sushi spots in the area, and the service is friendly and quick! View menu

The restaurant is impressively clean and efficient, although it can be a bit tricky to locate (head to the second floor using the escalator or walk up the stairs on the library side). The yakisoba looks delectable, and the miso soup is just right for a cold day. However, the prices listed on the website need to be revised, as the $7.50 special has increased to $10.00.

The restaurant has no exterior signage or street indicators to help you find it. Inside, it feels like a throwback to the early 2000s, with updates hastily taped over the original decor. With only two people running the establishment, service can be a bit slow as they manage orders and maintain the space. However, the food is a classic sushi experience, featuring fresh fish topped with just a hint of wasabi on perfectly cooked sushi rice. I enjoyed my dish, which came with a choice of salad or miso soup. Dining in the quiet corporate lobby outside the restaurant felt a bit unsettling, and I wish I could magically relocate this gem to a street-facing spot.
