"I visited Thai Orchid for the first time after a friend's recommendation, and I was very impressed. The waiter was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions with a smile. I often dine at Thai restaurants, but this time I was looking for a more unique experience, as my friend mentioned that the menu featured some dishes inspired by his home country of Burma. After looking over the menu, I chose the Kao Soi, and it was absolutely delicious! I would describe it as a flavorful curry soup filled with noodles and vegetables—so good! We also ordered some appetizers, including Samosas, which were surprisingly reminiscent of those you’d find in Indian cuisine. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting, and we were fortunate to have the entire place to ourselves. The waiter was attentive to our needs but also gave us the privacy to chat and catch up."

Yum! Really enjoyed their food. Five of us all have another dish that all remained happy! Tastefully beautiful decor.

I've been to this restaurant a few times for a quick lunch, and it never disappoints. The panang curry is fantastic, and the appetizers are served in generous portions!

This is the best Thai food in Albany and perhaps all of New York! The dishes are packed with flavor, the servings are generous, and the prices are extremely reasonable. If you’ve ever tried a whole fried fish at a Thai restaurant, prepare to be amazed. Just order the whole fried fish and let them know how spicy you want it, and they’ll take care of the rest. It’s absolutely incredible and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. And don’t forget to leave room for dessert because their fried ice cream is absolutely delicious. Hurry over and come hungry! This is the best Thai restaurant in Albany, and quite possibly all of New York! The flavors in each dish are outstanding, the portion sizes are generous, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. If you have the opportunity to try a whole roasted fish at a Thai restaurant, get ready to be blown away! Just order the whole fried fish and let them know how spicy you’d like it – they'll take care of the rest. It was truly exceptional and unlike anything I've ever tasted. And don’t skip dessert; their fried ice cream is simply delicious. Make sure to visit with an empty stomach!

I recently visited Thai Orchid for the first time based on a friend's recommendation, and I was really impressed. The waiter was extremely helpful and took the time to answer all my questions. Having eaten at several Thai places before, I was curious to try something unique, especially since my friend mentioned that this restaurant serves dishes inspired by his home country, Burma. I was tempted by many options but decided on the Kao Soi, which turned out to be absolutely delicious! It's a flavorful curry soup with noodles and vegetables. We also sampled some appetizers, including Samosas that surprisingly reminded me of those typically found at Indian restaurants. The ambiance of the restau...

"We had requested the rounded corner booth in the main dining room and arrived 20 minutes early, planning to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. But instead, we were seated at a booth right next to our preferred one. A couple finished their meal shortly after we sat down, well before our 6:30 reservation. We ordered a Beefeater gin and tonic and a very dry Beefeater martini. Both drinks had an unusual, perfume-like scent that was quite off-putting. My wife sent her drink back, and I decided to switch to a Bombay martini, but the same strange floral fragrance persisted. I regularly enjoy Beefeater and Bombay dry martinis and have never experienced this odd aftertaste before. For my main course, the Duck and Porcini confit ragu had hardly any duck in it. There were only a few shreds of duck meat hidden in the tagliatelle, but no substantial pieces. My wife’s Pesto and Shrimp dish arrived swimming in a broth. While this might be a traditional way to serve it, there was no mention of broth on the menu. She had expected the pesto to be coated on the pasta and oily, rather than soupy. As much as we have loved Capriccio over the past three decades, this experience was disappointing. We didn't even stay for dessert. We'll certainly return, but I hope to avoid writing another negative review. I usually don’t share my thoughts unless absolutely necessary, but I felt compelled to do so this time."
