"We had a Solid meal as expected at the Counter. We stopped by here for a late lunch while exploring Santana Row. We had the following: Kids mini cheeseburgers with carrots and lemonade 1/2 lbs. Beef burger. 3 sauces. 1/3 lbs. Beef burger. 3 sauces. Total with tax came to $37.15. Our waitress Jessy was very attentive. Empty plates were being quickly removed away by the staff. Our request to bring the Kids mini cheeseburgers ahead of our burgers was acknowledged and delivered. There is abundant seating inside as well as outside. The restaurant was staffed adequately to service all the occupied tables efficiently. Burgers itself were very good. We requested them to be well done, and they were just that. The patty is on the drier side compared to other restaurants. However, their sauces make up for it. The selection of sauces is also something unique to the counter. I had the Chipotle, Horseradish and Steak sauces. Flight of 3 sauces was $0.75. Between the toppings, and the sauces you almost have a feeling of eating 3 different burgers all at once. All and all, this is a good spot to grab a meal while you are at Santana Row."

The burgers were good, but there were too much oil with the fried onions.

Great menu. Make your custom burger is excellent option and lots of choices for meat lovers, vegetarian and vegan customers. Got a veggie burger and it was delish. Drinks menu has good variety. Ambience is amazing and in center of Santana row. View menu

I ate at this establishment twice and I have to say I was impressed with the freshness of the burger and toppings. The employees were all very personable and friendly during both visits. However, the actual beef patty needed some seasoning. It didn't taste like any was put on it. Also, it was a very pricey meal. This wouldn't be a place I'd frequent too often.

Every ingredient is fresh, and you can tell is cleanly sourced. You can see the photo, how tasty that burger was. I am drooling while writing this review! Okay, I think we can all agree that Santana Row is a tiny bit pretentious. I absolutely hate paying for an expensive-yet-unenjoyable meal. But unfortunately, I have to admit that I have yet to have a bad meal (overpriced, yes) at SR. The Counter, with their small-town diner decor, offers burgers that are typically Californian – lots of unique add-ons and foo-foo dipping sauces. The regular and sweet potato fries are good. The onion strings are good – if you like grease. Want an over-priced burger with good fries, go to the Counter. Want a good burger? Go to In’n’Out. You’ll get change. View menu

Not the cheapest burger, but hey, they have Garlic Aioli as a condiment choice… The Counter has very tasty burgers in 1/3, 2/3, or full pound sizes, the option to go bun-less, or have a nice toasted wheat bun. They allow you to have four different toppings on your burger on top of your choice of cheese and spread… pretty much endless combinations. I really love their sweet potato fries… they were double-fried, or something, super flaky/crispy and came with this southwestern sauce that had a little kick to it. Come here with a few hungry friends and split these fries (the size is huge, meant for sharing). Definitely worth a few more visits.

The Counter is a delicious and filling burger joint to go get a bite to eat. They are in fact dog friendly and are accommodating for dogs. Dogos can get their own cardboard water bowls and even puppy patties. Burgers are very filling and delicious to boot served on a brioche bun. You cannot really go wrong with getting whatever burger speaks to you they are all very good. If you do not want a burger from the menu, you can even create your own burger to suit your cravings as well. Sides are ordered separately or added to burgers. I recommend the half and half style of sides so you can mix and match. The shoe string fries and fried onion rings are where it's really at though. They also serve b...
