"Today 03/29/2023, I ordered Chicken Suya, gizzard and beef with jollof rice from the Mukase Restaurant Bolingbrook cos it’s close to Naperville and it was a disaster. Is it because it’s still new? .. The jollof rice was basically bland, the Suya was so dry and the taste made me throw up. The chicken has some herb thing going on with it. I wish these restaurants actually Google how to prepare these dishes and they don’t add ingredients that might alter the taste, also but ingredients from African stores that have the Nigerian ingredients. I mean Suya originated from Northern Nigeria for goodness sakes, just prepare the food the way it ought to be prepared, is that too much to ask? I was so excited I ordered a lot hoping to store it and show off and I’m so disappointed right now. As a big foodie I feel like crying and I can’t help feeling kinda duped … ? What a waste of almost $60 I don’t even have, to start with. J chicken has better taste than this. Looks way better than it tastes .. where can I find my money o … gotta thrash all these Please be careful ordering and don’t order alot if it’s your first time and you’re a Nigerian. I better hit the Restaurants in town … way better"

Loved it!! Best goat I've had in the several places I've had it. Oxtail was great, jollof, plantains, all great. We absolutely enjoyed all of it. Will come back again for sure!Food: 5/5

Ordered this good delivery from GrubHub. I got the pepper soup, kyenam (fried fish), and goat. The flavors are great. The spices are delicious and provide a beautiful crust on flavorful meats. Not even a goat meat fan, but loved it.Food: 5/5

I ordered some food from here for the first time from Uber eats and it was HORRIBLE Jollof rice is DRY dry with none of the onions and peppers that EVERY other African Restaurant have. Fish was DRY dry like they cooked it for 3hr in a convention oven. Just nasty horrible food. THE ABSOLUTE WORSTIf I could give a lower rating I would View menu

I found hair on my rice and oxtail were not done . I went to the restaurant and the lady was mad and rude that I brought the food back. She lied and said it wasnt hair when we both were looking at it. She called me stupid under her breath. She was walking away from me while I was talking . Unacceptable and I will be calling the health department.

I tried this place with my girlfriend: she is Ghanaian and I went to Ghana last summer so I also had the chance to try original food there, and we both agree this is definitely one of the best we've ever tried! For me jollof with chicken is something else! The chicken sauce is the best I've tried. Shito sauce can be asked as well and is delicious, but be careful because is also extremely spicy.

Okay… so with this SLEW of negative reviews this place has I’m about to set a record straight. Mukase has HANDS DOWN the best goat egusi this city has to offer. I’ve been to so many places at this point. Sure there’s no place to sit down at the restaurant as it’s take out only, it’s also rather expensive but my god… the GOAT EGUSI is king! Have fun beating that once you’ve tried it. Just saying- it’s become a weekly splurge. View menu

DO NOY EAT AT THIS PLACE. Their customer service is laughable. I tried to give them a try even knowing that sometimes Africans do not have the best customer service. They proved me (a black man) right. Their Uber menu is jacked up and the description to their Mukase wings are listed as 'grilled ' and the lady at the counter tried arguing me down about it. Don 't worry about it, my co workers will not be ordering or frequenting this place at all!!

Truly truly truly disappointed with take out. The food was dissatisfying. I am dishearted because I wanted to show my support culture for african cuisine. And this food didn't taste ethnic at All. It tasted craZY. I winded up pouring it down the toilet and packing it in trash bags. This food disrupted my mind and my household and my senses. I know that this couldn't have been no Queen in the kitchen cooking this consort. Diffently a zero. Enough said. Enough is Enough. Only God can forgive you. Cause you know that was some B.S. Not fit for consumption. And the FDA need to expect there kitchen.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
