"Took friends, new to the area, to introduce them to what used to be one our favorite stops in San Juan Capistrano. The place is so adorable and such a nice setting, but our food this evening was way below the standard normally experienced at Sun Dried Tomato. We ordered the Special which one would assume all chefs had been fully vetted and trained on the procedure. We had the Grilled Halibut I put that in quotes because it was anything BUT!! First of all it was griddled not grilled as the menu declared, we saw a totally seared and tough exterior only to be outdone by the way over cooked fish. It was tough, flavorless and and a huge embarrassment for us as we introduced a new California resident to your restaurant. While our very nice and accommodating server did try to have them cook up a new piece of fish for us, it came out seared again to toughness but completely raw on the inside rendering it uneatable. If I were the GM at this restaurant, I would dismiss that cook immediately. Our server did the right thing and removed it from the bill, we had 2 servings, and we tipped him as if the bill was full, it remains one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Just to note, every time we have been to this restaurant, we have had the best meals, might be a while before we give another go."

"My wife and I were in town celebrating our anniversay and stumbled upon this spot in search of a place for a glass of wine prior to moving on the another spot for dinner. This is a very cozy place. You step down onto a wine room dining area and you are immediately relaxed and in the mood for wine and cheese... We ordered a couple of glasses of wine and s smaller cheese/bread plate which were over to top! Needless to say we decided to stay there for dinner and we were so happy we did. Seriously a dinner we will never forget and a must visit spot any time we are in the area. 5 stars all the way."

"Our dinner atmosphere was casual. We sat by the fireplace in the bar area. Food was excellent. We started with the Ahi and wonton appetizer. The sauce had a slight bite to it. It was delicious. There was enough variety to choose from...We had the Napa salad with salmon, tri-tip salad, Oneil's burger with yummy onion rings, and the grilled filet. All tasted great. The cocktails were tasty especially the French Kiss. We finished off the night with the chocolate flourless cake with a scoop of ice-cream and seasonal berries."

"We were a party of 10, to start the garlic bread and the baguette. We all had different dishes, Arena Eggplant Parmesan, Pasta Bolognese, Mushroom Artichoke Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Tortellini in a vodka sauce well, everything was good and almost everyone was able to finish the large portions. We celebrated 2 birthdays and they were very accommodating with bringing our own cakes. This is my second time and aI hope we get Claudio to be our waiter again. He was excellent! We had a bottle of wine and each had a drink. Parking: Is located in a strip mall. Parking is good and plenty."
