"Let me join the 5-stars eating group for this place. I love the food here because they are similar to most South East Asian cuisine yet they differentiate themselves in a very unique way. I really hope I got the dishes name right and try to break it down for you.. A definite must get is their Naem Khao (lettuce wrap). This crispy-rice and nutty lettuce wrap was the star of the night. A heavier curry noodles called Mee Khati was also good. It is quite a creamy and heavy dish so good for sharing. The Kua Khao Jaew Bong (chili fried rice) was also pretty delicious. While it is quite similar to any regular fried rice, it is uniquely delicious with the salty fish sauce and chili paste. Finally, we got the Chuenh Peek Gai which is fried chicken wings with sticky soy sauce and fried puff rice. Quite similar to Korean fried chicken. The service was quick and great and I love it that they also checked for vaccination status. Overall, a good place to visit and a great place to go to if you have not had Laotian food before."

Incredible food and service. The staff are quite kind and the ambience is lovely. The food is priced reasonably given their large portions. Highly recommend checking out their desserts! Would come again.

The best of the best in DC, you will not be disappointed! This place is bustling with eager diners, who've likely heard how heavenly the food is here. Start your meal with the Naem Khao salad, but from there you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. A divine DC meal for the books.

The food was amazing! The atmosphere was great besides of course things they can’t control like dirt bikes and 4 wheelers zipping up and down the street. The sour pork belly one was amazing the dessert was really good. Thai tea was not my favorite Ijust didn’t taste it. The food is very affordable we all just bought a dish and shared it to try everything.

Food was good, service was good. In comparison to similar food styles (thai vietnamese) its very good. But for me personally it was missing that wow factor.. but the food is good. They were busy and we were still served promptly. I would reccomend anyone to go for the experience. The chicken hearts were a surprise delicacy. It didn't taste like you would think. View menu

Really enjoyed my meal here! Since it was just me, I was easily able to get a table at the bar as soon as I came as a walk in. It is pretty busy it seems on Friday nights. However, the bartender was chill and attentive to serving me even though I didn’t buy liquor. The prices I believe were average. It was my first time having Loation (if that is how you would say it/sorry) and I would love to come back again some time. :D

Definitely one of my favourite places in DC! A must go spot for vegetarians as everything was so so flavourful. We went there on a Thursday and it got busier towards the end of the night so I would suggest reserving before you go. We had the popular Naem Khao (highly deserving of all the hype it gets), the two tofu dishes on the menu (both which were amazing! I loved the dill tofu wrapped inside banana leaves) and the pumpkin for dessert! Just writing this review is making my mouth water

Thrilled to find this lovely spot. The Naem Khao stole the show excellent textured iconic flavors. Was disappointed in the Khao Soi, I’m sorry to say lacked depth and flavor, though a twist of lime helped a bit. Would try a different main nexttime. Definitely nice to have vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The dessert (one option) was heavenly a sweet ricebase with a mango coconut porridge, not too sugary but an excellent way to round out the meal. I’d definite go back, but try adifferent main course next time. Reservations are a good idea, though 2 people might be able to squeeze in depending on thenight. View menu

Thip Khao is a great little intimate date night restaurant. They offer outdoor and indoor dining. Our table was ready when we arrived for dinner and the service was very pleasant. All of the food was delicious with the exception of the pork and rice which I felt lacked a bit of flavor and the rice was dry and hard. But other than that 1 dish missing the mark, everything else was fantastic. The Jerry was very tasty and perfect texture. The papaya salad with the Laotian level of spice really pushed it. I handle a lot of spice, so it wasn't too bad for my but my date really had a bit of a shock when she tried it as I also noticed the table next to me sweating from the heat. But that is to be ex...

"I typically always forget to write google reviews but this place deserves every word I have to say. I found this spot because the luggage storage app, bounce, sent me here to hold my bags while I toured apartments for the day. Before I left my bags, I decided to try a quiche which was so much better than expected. Growing up in my father's deli, I tend to have high standards for most food because I can usually recognize good ingredients so safe to say I was definitely pleasantly surprised with my quiche. Around mid-day I fell walking around in NoMa and severely hurt my knee. Rather than continuing my tours for the day I decided to come back to pick up my bags and potentially go to the airport to arrive early for my flight. When I got to Old City Market and Oven, they actually gave me ice for my knee and let me sit downstairs uninterrupted. While I was downstairs the cashier told me to call the number in case I needed anything so they can come down and help because they didn't want me walking up the stairs for anything stupid. To say they were sweet was understatement, the level of care I received felt like I was in one of my dad's restuarants growing up which in my opinion is not something you see these days. I decided to have a pizza while I waited because another customer said it was amazing. Even though I was skeptical due to the paper menu, they really did their big one with that pear pizza. This spot really made my day and it makes me happy establishments at this tier still exist."

"For a special occasion, make a reservation at Michelin star Reverie, a small restaurant inside a Georgetown alley. If you 're lucky, you 'll meet Poppy the Alley Cat that is taken care of by the community, including by the staff at Reverie. My wife dined at Reverie on a Thursday evening. Here 's our experience. 1) Experience: It 's a Michelin star restaurant so expect superb service. It 's clear that the chef is passionate about his craft and his passion is contagious. Every staff member from our server to the chefs who brought out our food, everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. Throughout the stay, we were given wet towels to wash our hands in between snacks. Our water glasses were kept full. If we really loved a dish, our server would point out elements or teach us tips on how to use similar flavors at home. The journey begins with savory snacks and ends with sweet ones. Since the menu changes often, a copy of your dinner 's meu is given to you to take home at the end. It 's a perfect memento, especially if you 're celebrating something special. 2) Food: Reverie 's menu changes, but whatever you 're served will be innovative, fresh, and full of flavor. It 's also a tasting menu. When we went in May 2025, the menu included 17 different bites/dishes. The meal starts and ends with three small bites. The next nine dishes mainly included seafood and one was elk. Every dish is presented on a design-forward plate and came in full color and plated perfectly. A sign of a good restaurant is perfection in every dish and there wasn 't a bad one. We thoroughly enjoyed every single one, but our favorites were the Scallop, which comes in a fun sunchoke cracker sandwich, Hiramasa with juniper and caviar, and the Carolina Gold Rice. 3) Drink: Reverie 's drink menu comes with cocktails named after neighborhoods from around the world, wine, and other options. The Golden Gai is now my wife 's favorite Old Fashioned. She ordered two. For a sweeter refreshing cocktail, get the Old San Juan. For a refreshing, but sherry-forward cocktail, I recommend the Roma Notre. The dinner begins with chilled tea for all and it is very tasty. Savor it. At the end, you 'll have an opportunity to order more tea. Each blend is unique. I recommend any of it. 4) Price: It 's $245 a person for the tasting menu and additional prices for drinks, but for a quality dinner experience, it could be more expensive. We found it to be a fair price, especially for a special occasion. 5) Space: It 's beautiful! The design is not ornate, but rather simple, making it classy. There are two unisex restrooms in the back. When you sit down, you 're offered small stools to place your phones, belongings, etc. 6) Neighborhood: Inside an alley, there 's much to explore nearby from other top restaurants, cafes, and historic homes. We usually find street parking nearby by the Georgetown Waterfront Park. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
