"Here’s a tip for travelers: it’s absolutely worth the detour from I-10 if you're in the area. You should definitely check out downtown historic Monticello. If you're driving a larger vehicle like an RV, there’s a public parking lot just north on Mulberry Street. I know we’ll return! Update: I recently had them cater lunch for a large event, and the service was impeccable with fantastic flavors! This place continues to impress me. As for parking: don't stress about finding a spot on the street in front. Just go around back to park in the lot or use the public lot diagonally across from the restaurant. Campera usually finds a spot in the public lot most days."

That was the best quiche of my life, and it’s not particularly close. I got the ham and cheddar but I suspect the others are also amazing, thanks to the pastry crust. I hope to be back soon.

Excellent food. We got the tomato spinach feta quiche, classic BLT, the hippie chick sandwich, and a kids grilled cheese. The food was amazing! Highly recommended.Photo below is of the Hippie Chick Sandwich.

We love to eat at Tupelo's when we visit Monticello. Many healthy organic choices and friendly service. Their homemade desserts are marvelous!! The bees and honey shop offers lots of wonderful and yummy options too. View menu

They had many gluten free options, more than other bakery’s I’ve been to, and the zucchini bread I tried was so good, not grainy or dry it was so sweet and fluffy, which is hard to find for gf items, I definitely will be back! 5 stars!

I am incredibly thankful for this wonderful organic bakery owned by women! The staff is friendly, and there’s parking available. They offer amazingly delicious baked goods at reasonable prices. You can order and pick up at the counter. I highly recommend it for takeout or for enjoying breakfast on-site.

"We were passing through on our way home from Minneapolis held off to get breakfast umtil we were outside of the busier areas. Our mistake. We stopped to fill the tank turned to the Yelposphere for direction on food. This time, y'all steered me wrong. On approach, the name made perfect sense the location was nice, with ample outdoor seating. Inside was a different vibe than outside, I'm going to go with a bit shabby. There are games available I like the idea of what I think this place could be. We took a seat, with one other table occupied. I believe our server was new as she had to check things like soup of the day whether or not they sell tomato juice (they do a big ole cup of it too). We were handed menus my husband pointed out that we needed to calculate an extra 20% above the menu pricing. I'd assumed gratuity was being included but he corrected me said that they have increased prices 20% and haven't updated the menus yet, gratuity still needed to be added. (I didn't see the notice personally). We ran right at $37/2 2 meals a tomato juice. We ordered and the food was up quickly too quick... they should have microwaved it another minute or so. The hashbrowns, chicken fried steak gravy were all luke warm. The eggs came out as ordered. No seasoning was added to the eggs or hashbrowns, which I'm ok with, as I like to control my salt intake. Simply put, it was edible but it wasn't good. One note, no flavor not to temp. I'd have been ok comparatively with a drive thru I'm not a fast food eater. Maybe we should have tried the desserts. I suppose that could be the real star here. Overall, the price wasn't crazy high, the food was edible the service was attentive. I didn't see a lot of options in the area next time we'll keep that in mind with our routing and stop planning. I can't in good conscience recommend eating here based on this experience I wouldn't come back."

"The service here is beyond bad and the food is mediocre at best. We weren't greeted and the staff seemed borderline upset to see us which was odd because they weren't anywhere near closing and the place was completely empty. We eventually sat ourselves after standing awkwardly at the front door for a few moments and grabbed out own menus. After about 10-15 minutes a server came and said that he would be with us in a moment. 45-50 minutes after that he came back to take our drink orders and explained that he had completely forgot about us. At this point we had been in the restaurant for an hour and didn't have drinks or even our food order placed in the system. The chips they gave us were super cold, cheap, and stale. The salsa seemed like it was watered down target brand salsa. The margarita he served us was clearly a cheap mix and tasted like Jose Cuervo Margarita mix that had zero added tequila. We ordered a chili relleno and it had zero flavor and seemed to be a from frozen microwave chili relleno from Trader Joes. The fajitas I ordered were 90% grilled onion and bell peppers with almost no meat. The food took another 15-20 minutes to get to us, so we had been at the restaurant for almost an hour and a half eating possibly the worst chips and salsa I have had at a restaurant. They never came back to check on us, see if the food was ok, refill drinks, or even give us a check. We had to go hunt down a server and ask for the check. We ended up wasting so much food because of the poor quality and inedibility of a lot of the food. I see a lot of positive reviews for this place which confuses me since the food and service here was REALLY bad. Maybe it is just that people in this town are used to Taco Bell or really bad Mexican Food because there is none available."
