"It took over an hour and a half to get our food. Apparently they were more important people in front of us. We had had the reservation for about three weeks and were feeling pretty neglected after the whole affair. On top of that, our server, if she left us sitting for close to a quarter hour after leaving to get our bill. I finally stood up and walked to the cash register and waited for our bill to arrive. The Response was that she forgot about us, sorry! The lamb was mushy and overcooked, the steak was impossibly undercooked, and the salmon was actually pretty good. The flavors were bland. The pita was stale. We were there for over two hours. mentioned it to the Owner/manager (while waiting for the bill to arrive) who suggested that next time we should tell our server (we did tell mention the food wasn’t good, but she just smiled) and have the bill reduced. L O L, there are a lot of great restaurants in Kalamazoo. We will not be returning."

"I went in feeling like a starved glutton, only to leave feeling like a full bellied king. For the past week, I've been living off of gas station food through long hours of work. The roasted bone marrow appetizer followed up with Rustica's signature wagyu steak with potatoes and broccoli florets had given me a taste of culture and civility which our shared world is currently very much lacking. Bill, the first face of Rustica I had the pleasure to meet welcomed me in without a second word toward not having a reservation prior to my arrival. I was treated better than I treat myself most time. And a special thank you to the bartender Jaymie, the sharp spoken blonde with glasses and a warming smile, treated me wonderfully (the wine matched the steak so well, thank you). though I felt like a tramp just off the street as I first entered, I left feeling like a person again. Thank you, Rustica. Thank your staff as well, I hope this restaurant stays around for decades to come."

"Our family enjoyed the outdoor seating and the servers did a fabulous job moving other tables inside quickly when rain hit out of the blue. We were under an umbrella and a large tree and didn't have to move and the rain ended quickly. Our teenage children haven't been to many nice restaurants and they loved the creative appetizers, especially the homemade croutons on the ceasar salad, delicious! We all had very good meals and were too full for dessert which is unfortunate because I have had the chocolate bread pudding with Baileys before and it is divine! There are so many tasty options and we enjoyed the scallops as well as the duck, key lime chicken and the flank. You can't go wrong!"
