"Yi Mei is my boyfriend and I 's favorite breakfast/brunch spot! Ever since I showed him this place, it 's become a part of our routine every time we see each other. Our favorite dishes are the fan tuan with pickled veg, the turnip cake with egg, the beef noodle soup, and the fish roll. The complimentary garlic and chili sauces are a definitely must as well!Fan Tuan with Pickle Veg for those unfamiliar with Taiwanese breakfast, fan tuan translates to rice roll. Fan tuan at Yi Mei consists of Chinese doughnut (you tiao), shredded pork floss, and spiced pickled veggies all wrapped up in sticky rice. Make sure you ask for the added on pickled veg! So, so delicious! I think it 's flavorful enough on its own, while my boyfriend dunks his in the garlic and chili sauce mixed together. I 've also had the purple rice version with added egg, and while the purple rice is striking, I definitely prefer the original with pickle!Turnip Cake with Egg crispy on the outside, soft, savory, and packed with flavor on the inside, and it 's topped with tender, velvety eggs on top! Perfect on its own, and somehow even better topped with the garlic and chili sauce.Beef Noodle Soup the knife cut noodles in this dish soak up all of the rich, delicious, beefy broth. While the dish is jam packed with flavor, the dish is somehow also super light; the noodles are wheat based, but have the lightness of rice noodles! The dish is topped with crisp, fresh bok choi. The only negative point for me is that the beef itself is sometimes a bit tough, but all the other components are so tasty that I can overlook that! If you get this as a takeout dish, and have white pepper at home, it 's the perfect addition to the soup! You can also order a Chinese donut to dunk in the soup and absorb all that delicious broth!Fish roll we 've gotten both the rice plate and the fish roll a la carte, and I 'd definitely recommend the a la carte, as I feel like the ratio of fish roll to rice isn 't the most balanced (too much rice). This is definitely an underrated menu item, and it 's one of the best items here. Fish cake studded with veggies (my boyfriend always remarks that they 've gotten the ratio down perfectly), and (it seems to be dipped in an egg wash) fried to golden brown crispy perfection. Savory and tasty on its own, but even better dipped in garlic and chili sauce!Yi Mei is one of the best breakfast spots in the area, and it 's a must try! Don 't forget to ask for extra garlic and chili sauce!"

We just visited this restaurant and had an excellent experience! The pork soup dumplings were definitely a highlight. My child really enjoyed their scallion pancake as well. We're looking forward to trying breakfast here in the future.

Egg crepe radish cake hot soy milk the best Taiwanese breakfast! Verdict: A grab and go spot but they also have a couple of tables to eat there. Everything was made to order. Don't forget to grab a small container of the garlic soy sauce. It elevates the egg crepe and radish cake. View menu

We love stopping here on our way back home to the Bay Area! I love that this place is quick and a nice order to go place! So glad this place is a fun spacious place. They even have a bathroom so good pit stop. The food is always a hit. We love all the yummy easy to eat food while on the road! My boys love the noddles, sandwiches, and onion pancakes!

I was craving for purple rice roll for a while so came to Yi Mei for it. I ordered a purple rice roll and a red bean bun from the refrigerated case. They offered to heat up the bun, which was nice. However, I was disappointed the purple rice tasted crunchy because it's not cooked through. The red bean bun was just ok. It's rather dry maybe they microwaved it. Overall a bit disappointed on the food. The cashier was not that friendly either. I may try other Taiwanese breakfast spots next time.

"tl;dr You 'll get way better service at Olive Garden, better steak at Outback, and get more respect from people working at the DMV (and I 'm sorry if that offends DMV workers). Forgoing not getting seated until almost 30 minutes AFTER our reservation time, The Derby is disappointing in the only two areas an institution like this should matter food and service. Food: I 'll keep this quick ish, the food is not good. The ribeye I ordered was cooked nicely for medium rare, good sear and perfect doneness, but the quality of the meat itself was subpar. The particular piece of meat was mostly dorsi/eye and had no spinalis/cap. To add, the dorsi/eye was tough and dry like a cheap strip steak or chuck steak. Does this matter for a $20 steak? No! Does this matter when the price tag is pushing $60 $70+? 100% it does when I can buy Prime ribeyes locally for $35/lb and cook it just as well and actually eat it hot. When polled, the rest of the table thought the food was okay at best. $20for shrimp cocktail with 3 average sized shrimp? French onion soup with burnt and hard cheese? Soggy steak fries? These are steakhouse staples that should be slam dunks for any restaurant. Service: While we were never told the name of our waitress, I can use older Yelp reviews to deduct her name was probably Barbara, an older woman with short white hair. She didn 't greet our table until almost 20 minutes after we sat down. By that point we didn 't even know she was our waiter and she made some rather rude and off putting jokes while taking our drink order. To add insult to injury, she took orders from other tables that were seated way way after ours. We saw them getting their food before we even ordered!! Throughout the exhausting night our waitress rarely, if ever, checked in on us. Our table had to flag other waiters down for water refills, to ask when our food was coming out, etc, all while Barbara was off socializing with other customers, exchanging photos on their phones, and taking shots at the bar yep... The food was delivered to our tables some 40+ minutes after getting our appetizers, not after ordering, 40 minutes AFTER getting our appetizers, with luke warm steaks, soggy fries, and the plates basically thrown at us with disregard. Coincidentally, the food came right out we pressed our waitress for an ETA read between the lines here, she forgot and/or didn 't advocate for us to the back of house. The final straw was when our waitress disappeared again and we flagged another waiter down to get our check and desserts to go (it had been over two hours at this point). When our waitress did come by, completely oblivious to us wanting to leave, she sternly said, no, you can only tell me what you need. Truth be told, which we echoed to her as well, we wouldn 't have had to tell someone else if she actually came by our table instead of drinking with other patrons on an empty night. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk don 't come here."

"From my experiences in the Midwest and the South, I know that BBQ restaurants that truly understand what their customers want typically offer a variety of combination plates to showcase their cooking skills and entice customers to return for their favorites. This place seems unaware of that, or perhaps lacks proper BBQ expertise, as they don't even offer brisket, pulled pork, or pulled chicken. What they do have is woefully lacking in variety, especially for the prices they charge. Want two meats without opting for the cheapest cuts? Here, that will cost you $40 or more... that's disappointing. As a non-restaurant owner, it's hard to say why BBQ is so pricey in California, but this establishment is no exception. The cheapest combo available is $25, which includes chicken and a sausage link—what a shame. As a first-time customer, I approached cautiously, skeptical of places that look good but lack the smoky aroma of BBQ. I ordered the Big D’s combo, which consisted of half a smoked chicken and a smoked sausage link in spicy sauce, accompanied by mac and cheese and steamed vegetables. What a total disappointment! The chicken was dry in some areas and undercooked in others. Although the sauce was tasty, it was the only element that had any hint of smokiness. The chicken itself showed no signs of being grilled or cooked over flames, leading me to suspect it might have been microwaved. Everything else on the plate was so unremarkable that it's hardly worth detailing. The chicken was so bad that I only managed to eat a quarter of it and regrettably threw the rest away—something I find hard to do, considering the life that was lost for it to end up as waste. In summary, this was a major letdown, and I'm disappointed to say that I've once again found a subpar, overpriced BBQ joint that has no qualms about charging high prices for poor quality food."
