"I don't eat here because I am not someone who likes subs or sandwiches at all. But my family eats here a lot and loves it. I got some food from a nearby restaurant and then took it to go so that the rest of my family could eat here and everyone could have food they liked. My family LOVES the food here. I'm sure it's good if you like subs. But I'm reviewing this place because the staff was SO friendly, attentive, and professional that it really made me take notice. It felt like a fine dining experience at a fairly fast-food-type restaurant. It wasn't like any other lunch place I've been to. The restaurant itself was SPOTLESS. They do an AMAZING job of cleaning it and it is such a refreshing place to be with some incredible interior design too. I really appreciate their support of our brave first responders and of America. So here's 5 stars from someone who didn't even eat your food but was so impressed by the service and atmosphere that they had to let you know how well you did. :"

"I went to firehouse about 2 weeks ago, called in my order around 8:15. Showed up at 8:30-8:40 ish and as I?m trying to check out the girl at the register cuts me off my saying ?sorry we are just trying to wrap things up?. Sandwiches were poorly thrown together. Whatever I ignored it. BUT tonight I show up to a staff that is completely unprofessional when I?m trying to order and cutting me off to talk to each other, I get home to again the messiest sandwiches and the cherry on top of all this is finding a wrapper mid bite... I LOVE firehouse subs but unfortunately feel as though I cannot return to this location."

"Service is very good, staff is friendly. Sandwiches are really good as well, but nearly every one is steamed. They don't offer any cold, deli subs (except the tuna salad). *Update* 5 Stars! Just had the meatball sub (classic). This sub alone gets 5 stars! One of the best I've ever had, and definitely the best in the area! Also, you can request that your sub NOT be steamed, which I didn't know before."

"There's subs are really really good. This was a New York steamer AKA pastrami sandwich. Felt it could have had a little bit more meat on it but otherwise it was really good tasting. I had it delivered through doordash which was really good, except that they ran out of the macaroni and cheese so I wasn't able to try it for the first time and I found out it is out of stock I guess with their supplier in right now definitely suggest if you want a good sub go here then steam the meat before goes on to the bun which makes it really good and the meat is shaved thin"
"It?s always a stellar visit when I come to this firehouse subs locations. Get the large it may be a little bit more expensive, but boy is it worth it! Food is fantastic, steamed meat and cheese, with sauces galore, and tons of drink choices. Can?t ask for a better food experience. They are consistent and I?ve never had a better sub than a firehouse sub. I get the large Italian wheat, extra spicy ? , and the wife and kids usually get the Turkey Bacon Ranch. You can tell the staff love to work here too. Pro tip, ask for some extra sauce and or for their secret sauce. You won?t be disappointed."

"I love the subs at Firehouse and the staff at this location are always friendly and hardworking. Even when they are short-staffed, they always try their best to provide fast and friendly service. I appreciate their efforts and always enjoy my visits. It can get busy during lunchtime on weekdays, so be prepared for a wait. This location is one of my favorites in ABQ, second only to the one in Cottonwood. If you haven't tried their subs yet, ask the staff for recommendations based on your preferences. Firehouse also no longer offers large sodas, which may not be the healthiest option, but shows their commitment to creating value. Thank you to everyone at the Academy location, keep up the good work!"

"Honestly starting to think that the night crew just does what they can to limit themselves from making food. I've been there twice and been denied food twice. Both times were at least an hour away from closing time. First time, they said they couldn't toast any subs because they were cleaning the oven. Second time, they said the credit card machine was down. Both these things limit the amount of orders that they'll get. Both times the open sign was not illuminated. Could all be a coincidence but not likely."

"Honestly, I am very disappointed. I have not been to this location in over a year, and something certainly changed....be it management, employees or ownership. The employees did not greet me and I waited around for someone to take my order. A younger man came out and took my order but acted like I was a nuisance, as I was redeeming my birthday sub. As a customer who worked in the service industry before, I find it disturbing that no one has mentioned this before and corrected the action. I understand that employees are hard to find right now but employees that don't care are worse than having no staff, at least then you would have a valid excuse for lack of service. I agree with previous comments in regard to sanitation. Dirty tables, dirty soda fountain and a general lack of caring how the store is presented. I will not be returning and that is sad to say because I used to look forward to coming to this location after work years ago."

"The food preparation time at this restaurant can be quite inconsistent. I was told my order would be ready for pickup by 12:10, but it actually took an extra 13 minutes, which made me late for work since I had ordered my lunch. I've ordered from here frequently, and this isn't the first time my food wasn't ready on time. So, if you have some flexibility with your schedule, it might work for you, but if you're pressed for time, it’s probably best to look elsewhere. While the staff are friendly and the food is decent, the slow preparation time is a significant drawback for me. I can’t afford to be late anymore, so I’ll need to find another place for lunch."

"I'm disappointed to share that this location has really fallen off lately. This past month was especially frustrating. The staff was rude and appeared to argue over trivial issues, making the overall experience quite unpleasant. The sandwiches I ordered were messy and not prepared correctly. When I raised my concerns with the owner, instead of providing an apology, they just complained, which certainly explains the staff's behavior. While writing a review takes time, it's unacceptable to pay good money for such poor service and incompetence."

"So let me start off by saying that I usually don’t give reviews as a customer even though in my profession I understand the importance of customer feedback. Here we go…I walked into the store after flying back home late from work (firehouse is not usually my top 20 choices) I wanted something that I hadn’t had in a while. I’m greeted by a young man who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. (Wowed)I tell the guy that I am picking up for a call in order. He politely interacts with me and I noticed the new cold sandwich menu so I decide to order on the fly. In just 7 minutes of me being in the store I had such a positive experience that I ordered another sub. Fast forward, I get in the car and leave while explaining to my wife on the ride home, how pleased I was with my experience. Get home, start eating, and I discovered that they left off one of my sandwiches?. I immediately call and get the same gentleman that greeted me when I walked in. He not only apologized, but I could actually hear it in his heart?(wowed again). I proceeded to tell him how I was so pleased from my short experience and that I hated that this one error almost tainted my experience. He responded again, how this error had actually disappointed him as much as it did me! (WOWED AGAIN), cause he meant it! It was so genuine the experience actually got BETTER!!???. Long story short, good customer service CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! Great Job to the GM, you rock DUDE!!!!!!??????"

"I have been to this franchise many times since it opened a few years ago. I was so happy to get a Firehouse on my side of town. My sub of choice is the Italian and that’s what I had this time. My companion had a Firehouse Hero. Both were excellent, but missing something. They were out of tomatoes didn’t tell us. Out of napkins too. Aside from these stocking issues, it was a great experience, as usual. Clean dining room single stall restrooms. Coke 360 fountain drink machine. Decent selection of chips. Free parking. No complaints."

"I had two subs delivered to my workplace, and unfortunately, both had a hair in them – and they looked identical. It seemed whoever prepared these just got a haircut, as the hairs were short, straight, and brown. I often order from Firehouse, but only from the Melrose Park location, which consistently tastes much better, even without considering the hair issue. It's clear that someone from corporate needs to pay this location a visit to see if the staff are giving each other haircuts in the back."

"Just left this place, needless to say I'll never go back. The place was filthy, inside and out, literally FILTHY. There was a guy working behind the counter with long (below his shoulders) dark bushy hair that I felt was dropping into my food, no coverage, ponytail, or anything to semi prevent shedding. To top it off, nobody was in any real hurry, the place wasn't busy, but took 22 minutes to get our food, small and med sandwich, seemed like there was zero sense of urgency, thus an abnormal amount of time to get a simple sandwich. Looked like what may have been a manager sitting behind us on her laptop, got up once and sat right back down, she wasn't concerned or maybe she was on a lunch break on her laptop, not sure, she had a store shirt on. Regardless, unfortunately this was the worst ever, almost afraid to eat the food."

"Today I have placed a group order over the phone because the app said the earliest pickup time was at 8 a.m., although I tried to make an instant order at 2 a.m. Felix picks up the phone and takes my group order of 4 subs and chips error-free. Felix, if you read this, 100/10 man!! Loved the way he took my order via the phone, regardless of my app problems, very nice and attentive. Patient and charming charisma. And when I picked up the order, he made my day complete. Joke compliments and everything! Hoping Fireworks pays you NICEEE man! Keep the big work and I hope I made your day too!"
