"They always have great food, especially their Nugget kitchen prepared foods, but the prices are what you'd expect from a gourmet market. It's probably still better than Whole Foods for prices, and they always have certain staples that you can find for everyday low prices (especially their in-house brand called Fresh to Market). I always look forward to my visit especially to the Mace Blvd store because I like how this store always seems calm no matter how crowded. I go to the bigger one when I feel like going on more of a grocery adventure, or if I want a bigger pastry selection. The only thing is, I wish that they'd reduce the price of their fresh bread loaves at the end of the day, like how a normal bakery would do."

"During a recent visit to a friend in Davis, he took me to Huku, one of his favorite spots. I really enjoyed the bistro and was particularly impressed by the robot server. We arrived right at opening, so there was no wait, but it quickly filled up on that Saturday afternoon. The menu is quite extensive, and while I can't speak to the quality of the sushi since I don't eat seafood, my friend absolutely loved what he ordered. I opted for a delicious bento box with chicken and beef. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly. Overall, Huku is a fantastic place to visit in Davis."

"I always see this restaurant is always busy. I decided to stop in with my nephew at 1:30. Unfortunately, my nephew ended up wasting his 30 minute lunch break waiting for a burger and fries. The waitress informed us that the cook couldn't find any more burger meat because the delivery truck had not arrived yet. Just before that, the waitress made a remark about locking the door or they would never get out by 2. With that kind of attitude, I am surprised they are able to stay busy. The waitress also had an unpleasant attitude, which makes you wonder if she lost her broomstick. I will pass on trying this place again, as you can receive better service elsewhere."

"I just want to highlight how incredible the service was from our waitress, Era. She truly deserves a raise! Last night, she was all over the restaurant, handling everything like a pro. Despite the restaurant being completely packed, she maintained the best attitude. Every time a table cleared, she cleaned it immediately, ensuring that another family could be seated right away. The place was bustling the entire time we were there, with every single table filled! Boomerang, you need to recognize this waitress. I have never experienced service this exceptional in my life. "The Co op is family favorite stop in Davis for almost 20 years. About 8 minute drive off the Richard’s freeway exit. And it’s worth it. We always stop over for lunch or dinner when driving between Bay Area and Sierras. Lots of groceries to chose from and a great spot for prepared food when you’re trying not ti eat at a restaurant or cafe. Hot cold drinks selection to go with prepared foods makes it a refreshing visit. There is plenty of outdoor seating shaded without."

"It's hard to describe the magic that is Sam's. Sure, it's the best shawarma falafel I have had anywhere in the world (including the middle east . Or the fact they seem to find ripe tomatoes in the winter. Sure, their personalized service means that they always remember to include 3 x the hot sauce (homemade, scrumptious with my order.... But the true beauty really comes down to Sam himself, and his children. When my husband, my two kids and I walk in to the restaurant, we honestly feel like cherished friends family- Let me tell you, as someone who is far from home, this is invaluable. I know I'm not alone... Just scroll through his facebook page of UCD students and profs who feel the same. Even my octogenarian parents insist on visiting Sam every time they are in from Canada. Sam never fails to spoil us, and always greets my kids with a wink and a joke. Sam says he is lucky to have all of these friends and customers ... The truth is... It is we who are lucky to have him, his children, and his establishment. But seriously... Try the falafel and hot sauce. And the lamb. And the pita. And the hummus.... "Orderly chaos is my best description of the environment here. It's definitely not a restaurant I'd pick if left to my own devices, but I was on a group trip. I do have to give them credit though because our group was 20+ people. It started out just shy of utter chaos, but they quickly got it down to ordered chaos. I probably would've clocked out if I were one of the employees because they already had a full house. Service was pretty good considering the situation. So why the 3 stars? What happened to the other 2? Well, I sent them out to buy seasoning for my meal. I ordered pulled chicken (I eat plant based but chicken is my go to when it's not a feasible option and it wasn't in this case). The chicken was on the salvageable side of kinda dry, but it had ZERO flavor. I need to know where the seasoning went. Not anything fancy mind you, just a little bit of salt and pepper. There was NO seasoning on that chicken, and I may have prayed for the chicken because it didn't give up it's life for me to have to drown it in BBQ sauce. I'm sorry to that bird. The BBQ sauce wasn't bad, and they had great fries. The fries are pretty much why I tolerated the chaos. I will say this, they have baked potatoes, but it's not obvious at all. If you prefer that to fries, be sure to ask. Also those potatoes are huge so keep that in mind. Would I go back? No, I wouldn't. Do I think it's worth a shot if you're an actual carnivore/omnivore? I do as other members of the group seemed happy with their meals."

"This place is always hopping busy. My father was craving a chile relleno. I called in an order for pick up. I ended up ordering him the Chile relleno plate with rice and refried beans. I ordered chicken nachos for myself. When I got the food home the nachos were not chicken but maybe lengua? Small square pieces and dark in color. It wasn't what I ordered but I wasn't going to drive back for a replacement. My father thoroughly enjoyed the chile relleno. Chips and salsa is always a plus."

"The teas and blended ice drinks here are absolutely delicious! My personal favorite is the blended ice coffee with Oreo; it’s the perfect mix of coffee and Oreo flavors. The interior is cozy and inviting, and they even have board games you can enjoy while you’re there. Instead of a traditional cashier, there are three ordering stations available. The touch screen menu is user-friendly, making it easy to select your drink, adjust the sweetness, and add or substitute ingredients. I highly recommend the mango ice blended drink with ice cream—it’s fantastic! The ice blended Oreo drink with ice cream is equally delightful."

"Zumapoke was recommended to me by an assistant in the office of my therapist. I've never tried Poke before, but since I like Sashimi, he thought I'd like to. I love it! Had recently tried a place in San Diego, and all her poke was in a sauce with many onions. So after this experience, I wasn't full on board as I don't like raw onion. At Zumapoke I could get a bowl as I wanted. I went for half rice/half salad, 3 pots of pure raw salmon, Ponzu Sriracha Mayo sauces, my sides were sea altar, crab salad, edaname, pineapple, crispy onions, cucumbers and ginger. The fish was fresh enough. I'm not sure what the foot with the rice was earlier, but it was fluffy and well done, and not mad or vinegary. I loved the freshness of the green and was very satisfied. I'm on board Poke Van now."

"Cindy’s is my all time favorite spot in all of yolo and sacramento county. Breakfast is to die for, lunch and dinner are delicious. The staff is the best in town. Liz, Earth, and of course Jerry are all funny, kind, and very wholesome hosts. Service is always fast and friendly.The coolest part about Cindy’s is that they serve both thai and american diner food, both of which are fantastic! Nothing beats getting a thai tea with your breakfast, but if you really want a specialty treat, ask for the yellow curry omlet, with chicken ! Its amazing ?!Some other great breakfast favorites of mine are: the Breakfast burger, chicken fried steak, Eggs benedict, and the french toast! Pad thai and yellow curry are on point for lunch/ dinner?!"

"The Tri-Tip Dip has too little meat, and since the meat is the highlight, that's disappointing. The bread is excessively salty, and they serve it with a salty beef au jus, making the entire meal overly salty for my taste buds. "Food was delicious. My rating on this place is solely on the food. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite part about the food was the breading was very thin so we had nice sized portions of meat in every bite. It tasted fresh and was very nice serving sizes. My only complaints are the decor being old fashioned and lack thereof and also the staff seemly not caring about anything you have to say or your existence. Our waiter did nothing to show disrespect, but he seemed like he didn't really care. Not that this changed my opinion because the food was so good. Thanks tasty kitchen. We will be returning."

"This restaurant serves the best grilled cheese I've had in a long time. Made with garlic bread and perfectly melty cheese, adding an extra slice made it even better. Their almond butter/banana toast is also delicious- a thick slice of bread with the perfect balance of almond butter, banana, and chocolate drizzle. It's always a great breakfast option. The only reason I didn't give a perfect rating was because the iced lavender latte I ordered was lukewarm and had a mild coffee flavor with not much sweetness. It wasn't my favorite, but everything else at the restaurant was top-notch, especially the amazing grilled cheese. Just thinking about it makes me hungry."

"Just got back from the worst dining experience of my life. We ordered wine, an appetizer, entrees and dessert up front. The drinks and apps come in about 25 minutes...but we never got our entrees. After 1:15 of patiently waiting they come over and give us the bill. I had to tell them that we hadn't had all of our food yet, only the appetizers. After asking repeatedly what we ordered even though it was on the check) we were left in suspense if our food would ever arrive. 20 minutes later I had to flag down the owner to ask for our food to-go because I didn't want to be there anymore and I was assured it would be out quickly. Another 20 minutes elapsed and we got the food and went home. Unfortunately on top of that the curries and daal were fairly tasteless and as others have said the tomato flavor tasted canned. I used to love this place. I'd bring my mom when she visited and friends from out of town. Even ordering catering for the holi celebrations. It really hurts me to write this review, but I don't know if I can go back :"

"I recently dined at that restaurant last night and tried their vegetable dumplings and noodles. The broth was absolutely delicious! As someone who enjoys cooking various Asian dishes, I found the broth to be truly inspiring. It was clear yet packed with flavor. We also ordered potstickers and scallion pancakes (I can't recall the exact names on the menu), and they were excellent as well. We placed our order over the phone, and the woman at the front seemed to be having some difficulty, resulting in a bit of a wait once we arrived. However, it appeared to be more of an issue with her setup rather than any incompetence on her part. She was incredibly sweet, and I wanted to buy her a lamp and notepad to help her out. The food was amazing, and the staff were very friendly."
