"This restaurant is an excellent choice for straightforward grilled American cuisine. There's an ice cream shop next door, making it perfect for pairing a milkshake with fries. It's also an ideal place to please a picky eater. The chicken sandwich I had was tasty, and although I haven't sampled their burgers yet, I have no doubt they would be enjoyable as well. The dining experience doesn't involve table service, and it doesn't need to—simply place your order, pick up your basket, find a seat, and relax while you enjoy your meal."

"Absolutely by far the 3 egg omelet with potatoes I have ever had. Hubby said the tuna melt was delicious. Uncle said patty melt was really good, aunt ordered her burger medium but it came out well done and dry. The history was really neat to read all about it and the staff was very friendly."

"Normally, I don't focus on prices in my reviews, but the shift to small plates and the changes in their menu were not clearly communicated on their website. While the trout small plate was decent, it wasn't anything remarkable. We didn't order drinks and still ended up spending $150 for what felt more like a snack than a meal. If you're hoping to try four different dishes, expect to pay around $150 per person, plus drinks. We left feeling nostalgic for the old Shelburne Farms."

"My partner and I visited for brunch this morning. While the food was overall excellent, there were a few things that are keeping it from a 5 star rating from us. Items ordered: Brioche French toast, Breakfast in Jersey, popover Pros: The quality of the food was phenomenal. Fresh and hot. The French toast was flavorful and sweet, almost perfect. The breakfast sandwich was flavorful and the portion size was good. I can confidently say the homefries were the best I've ever had, and I've had a ton of homefries over the years across New England Waitstaff is very friendly, hard working, and accomodating Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food; much less than I've paid at far worse places! Cons: Wait times were VERY high. When we arrived around 11:15, we were quoted at 30 minutes but got in sooner. The couple after us was quoted at 50 70 minutes. If you're going to come, her here early if you can The breakfast sandwich didn't say it came with homefries, so my partner ordered a side of them instead, but it ended up coming with them anyway. So we got incurred a charge that could have been avoided The popover was unfortunately overcooked and was supposed to come with marmalade but did not Only a few Waitstaff which can make service a bit slow. This place would run much more efficiently if they hired on another waiter. Overall: We would absolutely come back I would recommend Rustic Roots to anyone in the area looking for a nice breakfast, even if you have to go a bit out of the way. If they can fix up the few issues mentioned, it would be an easy 5 stars!"

"However, my recent dining experience was quite disappointing. I arrived at 6:00 PM on a Monday and placed my order around 6:20. By 7:15, I went to check on my food, and they scrambled to find my order, as well as my friend's who had ordered after me. My friend's pizza came out at 7:25, and when I inquired about mine at 7:37, it took another five minutes for it to be delivered. I understand that it can get busy, but I've had full meals prepared in less time at other restaurants. My friend had nearly finished her meal by the time mine arrived. I usually dine at Folinos about eight times a year, and I’ve never experienced service this poor."

"I celebrated my nephew's birthday during my first visit to La Villa and had a wonderful time. We went on a Monday night and didn't need a reservation, as my brother mentioned he had never needed one before. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, describing the menu items, especially the desserts, in a tempting and accurate way. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and was happy that she suggested pasta as a base instead of the usual Swiss chard. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked, with a delicious cheesy topping. The portion was generous, allowing me to share a sample with my nephew and take some home for lunch the next day. We also shared a Caesar house salad, though I wished the plates were larger than the bread plates on the table. My brother's family, who live nearby and have visited La Villa many times, enjoyed their favorites like Tuscan chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, and burger and fries. The desserts we shared were all fantastic - Tiramisu, Triple Chocolate Mousse, and Peanut Butter Explosion. My favorite was the Tiramisu, with its delightful coffee-soaked sponge cake. My only critique would be that the lighting was a bit dim, and the entrees could have been more attractively plated. Overall, I will definitely be returning to La Villa."

"excellent service and eat here. it had collapsed to eat before you went to the airport. the service was on the point! large selection of local beer on tap and a large selection of dips that you can choose on the menu. I tried the shrimp grits that was delicious! probably the best I had after having it in several different states. many garnel in it and the vermont chorizo was also an excellent supplement. stop them when they are in the opposite for one of their local brewing and/or a meal."

"While we waited, another waitress approached us to ask if we wanted dessert, which we ordered. When our dessert arrived, we decided we wanted to enjoy our wine with it, so we unsealed the bottle and poured the remaining wine into our glasses. Later, when the check came, we overheard our original waitress loudly discussing how rude we were for opening the wine after she had taped the bottle. She then stood at the bar, speaking loudly about personal matters and using foul language, which was rather uncomfortable. To top it all off, she turned off the bar lights completely, leaving us in near darkness as we signed our bill. As my friend and I left, still in shock from the entire experience, we saw the other waitress drive by while we were standing by our car, clearly eager to leave at 8:30 PM. I rarely write reviews like this, but I felt it was important for others to know about the service we received. I also sent an email to management weeks ago regarding our experience but never received a response. Given that we were out for a 90-minute meal costing $130 and were treated this way, it was truly unbelievable, and we won't be returning."

"Everything was really good and not greasy. We ordered two appetizers and two main dishes, expecting to have plenty left over to take home, as we usually do. However, despite the large portions, we almost finished everything at the restaurant. While some of the dish names were similar to those at other Thai restaurants I've visited, each item had its own unique twist and delightful aromas, especially the dumplings. The steamed Thai chicken dumplings, the pineapple fried rice, and the special dish with shrimp were all outstanding."

"My friend was in town, so we decided to get ice cream here as it was so highly rated, we decided to head over after dinner. We ordered a small bowl and a small homemade waffle cone. What we got was ginormous desserts! So many amazing flavors to choose from. I tried a scoop of the Avalanche Mint with white chocolate chips, brownie bites, and dark chocolate mint truffles with a scoop of Blueberrry Cheesecake Blueberry ice cream with graham cracker and creamy cheesecake swirls. Both were luscious and decadent. My friend got the Cherry Chocolate Chunk Vanilla with sweet dark cherries and chocolate chips and Kahlua Fudge Brownie Kahlua mocha ice cream with brownie bits and fudge swirl. They were equally tasty. We didn't want to waste any, so we stuffed ourselves. Had I not been 30 min from home, I'd have refrozen half for breakfast! These ice creams are rich and creamy. It's clear they're homemade and ridiculously affordable. I'll definitely be back to try them all."

"I went here to bring my refundable cans an bottles here I saw a sign out front It said wanted cans will pay 6 cents .so I went Friday morning to the back .guy in back was busy with a truck driver I gave him 4 bags of cans bottles I counted them all with a friend we both got the same amount 19 dollars 35 cents guy done gives me the paper to go up front He says I have 15 dollars an 10 cents I tell them we had 19.35 still not going to give me back anymore .tells me they don't take some cans . "We are local and have in the past had take out pizza from Cucina Antica (so good), but tonight we decided to eat here on a cold, rainy evening. Our waitress was the best, and the spaghetti and meat balls and the braised beef dinner were amazing. Came with a nice fresh, crisp side salad with homemade dressing and warm bread. "Mocha Maya's is a pretty small business which seemed to be staffed entirely by the owners. It's a really quaint little cafe right in the Berkshires. I was not super optimistic but Chris seemed like a nice small local business owner I wanted to support. After waiting quite some time for a coffee, I tried it and was very impressed. They are pulling really great shots. While not the complex origin notes you would get at a third wave shop run by some hipster Tandem fanboys, the espresso was really great and I would recommend them to anyone stopping by."

"We absolutely love Peg Ter's and are never let down by our experience. The food is consistently beautifully prepared and thoughtfully presented. Although they do update their menu frequently, which means we have to say goodbye to some fantastic dishes, we've had some memorable favorites. "Great atmosphere, brand new everything. The food was delicious and half the portions we are generous for the price. A little pricier than an Italian family restaurant, but the food was worth it. "I live 3 1/2 hours away and would gladly make the drive again to eat here. The atmosphere reminds me of Paris. Warm red walls. Fresh roses. Real candles. I really like the attention to detail.The meal began with hot bread and a generous portion of butter and dipping oil. I REALLY wanted to get a second order but had to save room for the rest of the meal. I would come here for just the bread.Then the mussels, crab cakes and seafood chowder came out. The fish bites were soft and melted in my mouth. An excellent start. The crab cakes were pretty good but I wish they were a little bigger. Then I had a taste of the mussels. Wow. I have never devoured mussels that fast in my life! The butter sauce was amazing.Time for the main course. The filet mignon was the best I had in my life. The best cuts are ones that the knife just touches the meat and it falls apart. Medium rare. I also had the porterhouse but out of the two, order the filet.The spinach and mashed potatoes complimented the main course very well. The creme brulee had a nice coating on top and is always the perfect way to end the meal.A mom and her son provided good company to talk to as she offered us some of her gnocchi! Who does that! Plus you get a hand written bill written on a black paper! A personalized touch!I will be coming back again later this year!"

"Don't waste your money. With a large group of people (including small children) it was immediately evident we weren't exactly welcome in the completely empty restaurant. We first ordered 2 platters of spreads and bread. We received about 1/4 of a Red Hen seeded baguette for each platter of four spreads--clearly not enough bread to even make a dent in the spreads. The family liked the yogurt dip but didn't care for the rest. I ordered the soup which had a good flavor with the orzo, lemon, and olive oil; however, it was nearly impossible to finish because the amount of lemon juice. The waiter should have mentioned to the small children and other diners that the soup is a particularly acidic Greek soup before ordering. For my entree, I ordered the octopus. The meal was minuscule when it was listed along with other full sized plates. Again, a warning that this is a smaller portion would have been appreciated. In conclusion, I agree with a previous reviewer that even if the staff does care, it is not conveyed to the patrons. It's disheartening to see the response from the restaurant above which essentially blames the customers for their disappointing dining experience. The experience IS why people go out to eat. Interestingly enough, we were never asked how our meals were and our other requests were met with disdain (i.e. more bread and separate checks). All in all, a very expensive meal that left the whole group unsatisfied with both the service and food. The menu descriptions were not especially helpful and the menu had no fish or chicken entree options for this month."
