"I am writing this review because we had an amazing experience here with a staff member (possibly the manager or owner not sure)My daughter spilt the milkshake all over herself like seconds after getting it, like we were still at the drive in window and when I told the lady what happened she not only got her a new shake she came out to my car after I parked and brought me paper towels, some wet and some dry! It was so thoughtful and really helped in a stressful situation!As far as the food it’s pretty much the same as any other steak and shake but the customer service is top notch!"

"This place is really great! Very clean, nice, decent, and bright. The whole place is very welcoming, relaxing, and so interesting. They are well-maintained, organized, and the ambiance inside is really great. It was a pleasure for me to experience how great this place is. Their food here is incredibly delicious. Their menu is so big and they have so huge variety of food. You can really enjoy everything they have to offer you. All of their food is fresh, made to perfection, and very decent. The prices of those food is really fair and reasonable. You can really save a lot here while eating awesome and quality food. They are way better than other stores around the area. "5 way chili was extremely greasy and beans were undercooked to the point of being crunchy. Was more like eating chili soup than 5 Way Chili. Fries were completely incredible. Should be referred to as soggy potato sticks rather than Fries. Double Original Double Steakburger with Cheese was pretty good but about half the size that I remembered it being. The entire order was cold like room temperature by the time it got here but thats the fault of the Door Dash Driver. Appeared she made two to three other stops on her way here and went quite a bit out of her way to get here. First female "Joseph" Ive ever seen haha."

"I had no burger in a past, so I decided to get steak’nshake, as I wanted a chocolate milkshake. I was a little disappointed at the burger. I ordered the double-burger with the caramelized wobble. I asked for crispy speck and additional pickles and swirling. I have a burger without the extra crunchy speck, without extra pickel. I wondered why my bill was $15.37. when I came home and opened the bag, I had my fries and tweebel rings, a double-burger and a single burger and my milkshake . Both burgers looked like they had been sitting in a box for a few time. they just threw up some wobbles. of course I was not satisfied. I gave this rating 3 stars because the shake was perfect and so were the pommes."

"This was my first and most probably my last visit to a steak and shake. LONG LONG WAIT TIME to get my order taken in drive theu, then long time at window. Saw the girl put my fries in the bag, then wait for the burger then wait and wait and wait more for the shake to get made. My fries were barely warm and most of the mayonnaise ketchup and mustard ended up on the burger paper wrapping. Would not recommend this chain if this is a normal occurrence."

"Seriously, the Double Steakburger with Cheese and Fries for just $5.29? Best deal around, Service is exceptional and has improved immensely vs over a year ago Fast Food speed of service for made to order burgers! And the shakes... Nutella is amazing, and their seasonal specialty shakes are to die for... Oreo Pumpkin? Amazing. Red Velvet during Valentines is one I'm looking forward to when it comes back! "I had never been to this place before, and I wanted to try the milkshakes with my wife. We ordered two milkshakes inside the store. We saw them being prepared, but then they sat untouched in a corner while we waited for 20 minutes. When I inquired about them, the staff member seemed unaware of the situation and looked at my receipt as if she didn't understand what I was talking about, despite me being the only customer there. There wasn't even a simple apology for the wait or any acknowledgment, such as a goodbye or thank you! When we finally got our milkshakes, they were so thick that they were barely drinkable."

"Honestly not my favorite place. Good place if you really want a burger. Not a fan of the immediately cold shoestring fries, but the chili makes up for it nicely. The $4 menu is one of my largest attractions, and the fact they put out some darn good coupons. The original shakes are good, but I am always disappointed in the specialty ones with the candy in them...I'd rather have a concrete/blizzard if I am getting that. Staff is always awesome at Washington, and I make sure to tip them well for their excellent service."

"I always enjoy a good meal at Steak and Shake! Their burgers are delightfully greasy, the chili is fantastic, and the shakes are consistently great. Plus, the Coke is really fizzy! The staff is very friendly, but now you have to use a kiosk to place your order instead of interacting with a person, which is a change. I'm giving one less star because the bathroom was quite unpleasant—one toilet was out of order, and they ran out of soap. I'll definitely return, but I might choose a different bathroom next time."

"My Frisco Melt was cut in half, and I visited the website because I thought the chocolate milkshake would taste like soft serve instead of the usual hand-dipped ice cream. "I honestly don't know what has changed at this restaurant, but it was absolutely amazing! Our burgers arrived neatly packaged in a box and partially wrapped, which meant they didn't get soggy at all (that's never happened with our deliveries before). Everything tasted incredibly fresh, it was wonderful. The milkshake was rich and thick, not melted at all. I'm not sure if there's been a change in management or something recently, but this was the best Steak 'n Shake I've ever experienced. I felt inspired to leave my very first review because we were so impressed!"

"If I could get this restaurant 0 review I certainly would. Not from this area. Stopped in to order food asked the lady for some extra crackers she threw a fit. I asked if I could speak to a manager I just wanted two things of extra crackers she went back and young man came out screaming and cussing at us because we asked for two things of crackers. Employee dropping the F bomb in front of my very young grandson and then threaten to call the cops on us because we were just waiting for the crackers. The manager was standing there the entire time listening to it trying to get that young man to stop and the young man still kept screaming and cursing at us manager end up walking away from the situation. Very sad. Will NEVER EVER return to this. Then got back to where we were staying only to find cold half filled fries and the thinnest burger I've ever seen. Was extra surprised how the manager didn't take control of the situation and just walked away."

"It’s truly disheartening to see the current state of Steak 'n Shake. Gone are the days of long lines, friendly servers wearing stylish hats, and tables filled with condiments and tempting specialty milkshakes. Now, all we have are impersonal kiosks, self-serve fountain drinks, and a lack of kids’ menus featuring the fun hats and buildable cars. You place your order on a screen and then wait for your name to be called, receiving your food in cheap plastic baskets. The restaurant is mostly empty, with dirty floors and plain, unadorned tables. While the food is still cooked in view, the portions have shrunk significantly and the quality has diminished. There are no longer special steak burgers or melts available—just the basic options. It breaks my heart that it’s no longer a place I can enjoy with my friends and children."

""The photo was taken after I tested the bun for its hardness (not softness). The fries were soggy and cold, but that’s not a huge issue since I can just use an air fryer. The milkshake only had maybe one Butterfinger piece in it and was mostly vanilla, but it was still enjoyable. However, the cup wasn’t filled to the company’s standards, and there were no straws for any of the three drinks. Even though it was the Fourth of July and the store was likely busy and understaffed, I appreciate the classic Steak 'n Shake flavor more than the appearance and small issues that should really be standard. "OMG first my gift card wouldn't work on the order kiosk said see counter staff. They had only 2 of the 4 kiosks working on a Sunday at about 1:00. We stood for over 10 min waiting for someone to help us all the time there was a line for the 2 working kiosks. Finally a man came out to the counter and put a roll of tape into one of the nonworking machines. I asked if he could help me and he did the same thing I did and got the same notice. He took my gift card to the back to the manager and about 10 min later she came out and used the register behind the counter and rang our order. She stated it was the gift card that was old and being recalled? I got the card for Christmas from my grandson who bought it the week before? Now the wait for the food was over 30 minutes We love Stake and Shake but being there for over an hour is unacceptable. I know they were short staffed and they put a note on the door we saw when we left that said drive-in only. We saw a lack of organization that was making it harder and longer to do the job. I do want to commend the young man for cooking the burgers. He never left his station the whole time we were there but you could tell her was stressed I wouldn't blame him if he quit. "When we ordered from the kiosk, I made sure to order my meal with no onions since I'm allergic, but couldn't find another area to make note within system that I am allergic. Of course there were onions on my burger, even though the restaurant wasn't busy.My husband took up my meal to get it replaced, and the person who spoke to him at the counter wanted to simply take the onionsoff. That would've been no good for anyone since my throat closes with just the juice from the sliced onions. Only after myhusband made them pressed the actual allergy did the person take the meal to the back and remake it. They didn't take thereceipt with the rest of the special order to my burger, so it was made like normal, but without onions. This new setup seemedcold and clinical. We read the sign to go to order from the kiosk, and a number is called to pickup the order. The only time wesaw employees on the floor was to check trash."
