"Chow in Lafayette is the suburb cousin of Park Chow in the city. The food is definitely a cut above the standard ’burbs fare, but is step under great food. The menu is diverse – regardless of your mood and/or Finicky-ness – you will find something in the menu to interest you. A nice positive is that many of the dishes in different portion sizes (indicated by 2 or 3 different prices beside selected dishes), so you can order the right amount of food. The spaghetti and meatballs is a good portion, has rich sauce and juicy meatballs. The Thai-style noodles are spicy and a great dish when you have to warm up. I would rate the food 4 stars. What takes it down a star are 3 things: 1. Waiting can be laboriously long for comfort food. Do you really want to wait an hour to have these spaghetti and meatballs or a pepper soup? 2. For Asian dishes and meat dishes are the portions on the small side. You really notice the small size when you get out and you're spending a gut on your normal plates at home. 3. The place is invalid. Yeah, you have to call to have a conversation with the person sitting next to you. With the noise it is a perfect place for dinner with small children. In most places, you'd be worried about them making too much noise. Not with Chow. Lots of parking in front of the restaurant. Turned off at the back of a shopping center on the main street in Lafayette. Look after the Starbucks/A.G. Ferrari."

"Every experience I 've had with THIS Amy 's location in particular has been nothing short of stellar. I live not too far from here and much like many other overworked/underpaid adults my age eat way too much ice cream. Therefore, I can assure you my critique is well founded. The ice cream is nothing short of 5 stars. As far as the customer service and the personnel goes also 5 stars. I scrolled through some other (negative) reviews and even though we 're all entitled to our opinions, I 'm entitled to say that they don 't know what they 're talking about! Without being too revealing, I once stopped in LITERALLY 1 minute before closing time to get ice cream for my girlfriend who was having a particularly rough time of the month . I was fully expecting to be met with (justifiable) disdain by the employees who 'd already almost finished closing shop, but it was a calculated decision... Anyways, the girls working couldn 't have been nicer. We shared pleasant convo while they scooped my ice cream and I went on my way. These were teenage girls, by the way. I 'm much older and have spent years working in the service industry and even I wouldve been disgruntled with a visit THAT late. Today, I went in with a different request. I asked if I could hang a flyer for a fundraiser I 'm running for a friend. I didn 't have to tell them what it was for (my brother who has terminal brain cancer). Not only did they say yes, but I was given a prime location to hang the flyer. As cliche as it sounds, I now go to Amy 's for more than just the ice cream. I go because I know I can expect to be met with cool people with big smiles."

"So, I went this afternoon to this restaurant to have lunch with my family (Hispanic/Dominican) very low-key as some people say and the moment we walked in it was just an awful feeling that we almost walked right out. The moment we walked in is like a thousand eyes was looking at us the entire time, mind you we were not loud or out of place as some Hispanics are which I would understand if we were. When we got approached about how many sitting they gave us 2 options and there was another table that had better sitting and we asked for that but it was dirty and we gladly waited but they didn 't clean the table well and left crumbs on the bench and straws wrappers and napkins on the floor (it 's inevitable to not see it because it was 9 pieces of papers that I had to push away with my foot. Besides that the rest of the crowd was white Americans and just 1 table from somewhere I couldn 't tell but the overall food service was okay although I feel something wierd from the server too and he didn 't pay us much attention even though the place is not that big but it is what it is. Next to us we have these old American folks that didn 't stop looking at my caramel skin colored son and my wife and it was just a heavy feeling in the air because it was so constant and when my wife made contact with her she acted shocked and said "I 'm just looking at the little heart (my son had a tiny heart in his hair) but she kept looking for minutes on end, when she was also staring at me and I made eye contact to her she looked somewhere else immediately. I 'm not trying to say the place is bad but there 's def some discrimination of some type in this place in 2023!! It 's disgusting and just for that we would most likely not return here. The food was okay but the whole time it was awkward and weird until we got up and everyone started looking at us even while outside walking away. It 's RIDICULOUS!!! THEY CAN DO BETTER!!"

"I've been here twice once last year, once just about a month ago. I know businesses have been struggling during the covid 19 situation so we really wanted to support them when indoor dining was available again and I'm so glad we did! The food was not only outstanding even better than I remember from our first visit but the staff was doing a really commendable job of making us feel safe and very welcome for our visit. Reservations are now mandatory, and they seemed to have diners spaced to no more than 1 2 tables per room. That really made the experience feel intimate and special. We called from outside once we arrived, they reminded us on the phone to have our masks on until inside and seated, and paper menus are currently in use. Last time we had ordered the Centerton sampler appetizer and I remembered it being a lot, so this time we stuck to the crab cakes to start. They were very rich and buttery, and loaded with crab meat. Husband got the Centerton salad while I stuck with a garden salad, as I have to be careful with garlic (and thankfully they warned us that the Centerton salad is very garlic forward. I'd seen someone online rave about their weekend special of a Salmon Wellington so I had to try that. Turned out I had the last one still available! Husband got the steak with blue cheese sauce. The salmon was outstanding and simply huge easily enough to have a nice lunch the next day with the leftovers. Well cooked, not overdone, and served with a delicious pepercorn sauce. Husband's steak was perfectly cooked and both entrees went down well with the Italian red wine we ordered. Dessert was an ooey gooey bread pudding that we somehow found room to share and some coffee to stay awake for the drive home. This is really a lovely place to go, perfect for a romantic evening out in a very historic setting. I definitely look forward to going back more in the future."
