"I've been here a couple of times but this time it was a little disappointing. The braesola starter which I love really saved up on the mushrooms. And they were plain old mushrooms, not the fabulous wild mushrooms they had in the past. I was amazed. The pasta specifically was salty and dry. The fried calamari and prawns were very salty too. The quality of the food that goes into the meals is really top notch. In their defense, we went there right after the holiday weekend and maybe it was a little different. It won't stop us from coming back in the hope that it was an anomaly rather than the norm."

"The food is well prepared which reflects on good management. I would venture to guess the owner or chef is Italian or trained in Italy. Overall, It was a good eating experience. But it can use improvement. I had the Caesar salad side, crab cake appetizer and a glass of Cava wine; and finished with Creme brulee.The wine was clean tasting and of respectable quality; and the price was reasonable. The dressing on the Caesar was not true Caesar and was way too creamy, and the parmesan was not shaved as advertised. The crab cakes were delicious, but suspiciously I had a horrible feeling in my stomach the following morning. I suspect the crab. The creme brulee was large in portion and prepared with finesse. ...You won't be disappointed. The service was so, so. The host obviously has little to no hospitality experience...picture a bull in a china shop. The Busser-server practically shoved the crab cake order on my hand. How ignorant! I will return for more. It's clean. Food is well prepared. And the pleasant smell of well prepared food permeated the air. I think I'll try the wagyu options next. Mmmm Yummy... Not kid friendly. Please leave Fido at home for all of our sake. However there is a sidewalk table option for those of you who must push the kid and pet envelope. Buon Apettito! "the food was good. but was not able to enjoy the dessert we ordered because we had to leave the rest of our party before dessert came. we have ordered 20 minutes before the farewell dessert. the 20 minutes went by and the waiter never came by to tell us what took so long. two of us had to go, and the last person in the table had to enjoy the dessert and said it was at least 5 minutes after our departure before it came out. no dessert should take 25 minutes. per our third person our server has apologised and said that the kitchen has been washed with free. I understand, but he should have come and told us to divorce. we would have canceled the order. but he never did. the service was attentive to some things, maybe too much (water glasses would be after just one swallow or also filled). but lax about the communication about the dessert was a small mistake. we're coming back to another attempt."

"I absolutely love Venkman’s! It’s such a charming spot, and they host a fantastic jazz jam every Wednesday night from 7 to 10, led by Joe Gransden. The atmosphere is delightful. As a singer, I can’t say enough good things about the sound system—it's top-notch, 10 out of 10! The volume and tone are just perfect, making it incredibly enjoyable and therapeutic to sing there. If you're looking for a relaxed evening with great people, I highly recommend visiting Venkman’s. Just a note: during the Wednesday night jam, they only serve drinks at the bar, but you’re welcome to bring your own food if you’d like!"

"First time at the new location and totally loved it. Sat at the bar and ordered a couple of appetizers with our cocktails. The bartenders Ozzy and Carlos were excellent and super attentive. The pour for the wine and bourbon we ordered was plentiful. We ordered the goat cheese toast and slab bacon salad which were both delicious. "Very good experience! After a hike in the Blue Hills, we were searching for a lunch spot and discovered Small Batch Cafe thanks to YELP. While the atmosphere isn't the main attraction, the reasonably priced, excellent food and friendly service make it worth a visit. I highly recommend it. I ordered the club sandwich, which was enjoyable, although next time I might skip the middle slice of bread. Definitely a thumbs up! My wife had the beet salad with walnuts and homemade ricotta, which featured beautifully presented golden beets. She devoured it in no time. Another thumbs up!"
