"when we reached our 915 clock reservation, there was no one at the Hostess-Desk. I went to talk to someone in the takeout area to see what's going on, they told me to wait for someone to come out. we waited a good 4.5 minutes until the host finally comes. He didn't apologize for waiting. I just set us up. the waiter didn't say hello or imagined himself. it was just ready to take away our order immediately. eating was okay, nothing special. overall it was just ok. the customer service was missing and again it was not special. I wouldn't go back. too many other good restaurants around with good service and eating to deal with it. it's too bad, I was very excited to eat here."

"Four generations!. I had dinner with my parents at the Lotus Garden. I have taken my own kids there all of their lives. Now, I take my grandkids! The Lotus has been there all this time for a reason, the food is great! Egg rolls and barbecued pork are house made and delicious! Best sweet and sour pork and chicken you 've ever had. Not to mention, chow mein, lo mein, fried rice, moo goo gai pan, and Szechwan. Some things they have done the same way forever, the cracker and bun basket anyone? Many items on their American menu are not to be missed either. Best Manhattan 's ever! Best cocktail? I say Rum Cow, but fabulous tropical drinks reign supreme here! Don 't forget to say hey to Jimmy! He was the star of the show there in the 70s (still is ha! , when I was a little high school kid working in the 'coffee shop ', which is now the buffet next door. Hopefully the Lotus Garden will be serving great food for 50 more years! And, to the gentleman who has issues with the decor, the Chinese kitsch is part of it man!!!"

"I called early this week to reserve a large, more private table at Lieu 's for a birthday party for two women at my church. When I reserved the room, I was told that it could accommodate a total of 12 people. We had 10 RSVP, so I though everything was good. When I arrived about 5 minutes early with a few other members of the group, the hostess refused to seat us because our entire party was not present. About 20 minutes later, 8 members of our party of 10 had arrived, and I asked to be seated as two of our party members were not sure when they could arrive and didn 't realize they had to arrive right at 6PM to be seated. As we walked back, the hostess refused to allow our party to sit at the private table in the back I had called and reserved. She was having the wait staff move the drinks/waters/silverware to another table of the same size in the bigger dining room. There were very few patrons in the restaurant at the time and actually for the whole evening, so space wasn 't an issue. The hostess insisted that she could not allow us to have this table with 10 chairs as our party had only 8. This was even though our other two members were on their way, but did not arrive exactly on time. I was humiliated in front of my friends as I had tried to make this a special event for my church group, and I was treated like I was attempting to do something wrong or deceptive by asking for the room I had reserved. I will never eat here again. This was very poor customer service, and there was no reason for it."

"I love going to this restaurant, it is one of our favorites. The atmosphere of the place is very calming but also a little sultry so if you wanted to take someone on a date this place would provide a very good atmosphere for that. They also have really good food, we haven't had a single thing from here that was bad. The wait staff is friendly and quick to take your order. I'd recommend any of their ramen options, any of their sushi options, their fried noodles, chow fun, Peking duck, egg rolls m, fried rice, lomein and their soups. Allergy notice they do serve peanuts as one of the free appetizers. Though I'm sure you can let them know of your allergy issues before hand. Their fried rice and lomein has been some of the best we've had since Number 1 in Pottstown had gone under new management. The original owners were amazing. I just wish Veekoo added bean sprouts to their fried rice and lomein."

"The food at this restaurant is consistently good and beautifully presented. We dined outside on a charming early summer evening. We started with the mussels (less spicy than expected but very tasty) and the spinach salad with fried oysters, both of which were excellent. The pork chop and duck main courses were well cooked. The chard with bacon alongside the duck was a delightful addition. The cherry compote was a bit overpowering. We tried the Bonarda red wine, which is typically aged in stainless steel and lacked a soft, fruity taste, so we switched back to a reliable Malbec. Our server in training did a good job, although their mentor seemed unenthused. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience."

"We were looking forward to this restaurant based on previous reviews, but we were very disappointed. The appetizers were acceptable, but we didn't think the Entres were very good. I especially did not like the taste of the pad Thai, which is such a basic dish that it is hard to understand how they could miss on that one. Also we were seated in an area where the overhead lights kept flickering on and off. It took a while for them to notice and fix it. We also had difficulty finding it. From the address, you would think it would be right on the corner, but it is south of the 7 Eleven. We wouldn't go back."

"Not recommended for large groups. We had a party of 20, which was a reservation option on Open Table. Server did not keep track of orders, asked us to write down everything we ordered on a piece of paper when it was time to pay. It took over 30 minutes just to pay our bill. Food was good, but not worth the trouble."

"I grew up eating dimsum at least once a week. When I moved to Phoenix and found out from my employee that this was the way to Dimsum Square in Arizona, I had to make a trip there! We went around the main time, the lunch time was (12 PM) during the weekend and the wait was only about 25 minutes (for three), which definitely was not bad! There were also ample parking spaces in the area. Usually for the traditional dimsum I had in the USA, there are servers that bring the shopping cart of items to your area/table. So I read the reviews before coming and it seemed like people had a problem with the customer service, but my experience was different. The workers were exactly as the workers are usually at Dimsum. I would even say that they were nicer than many other servers that I have seen in CA/NV area Dimsum places. When we sat, someone came by to give us the records and take our drinks orders. Our teacups were dirty, so we had to ask for a replacement they somehow replaced. This is common when in many dimsum sites, only politely let the servers know to replace. When the shopping cart server came, they asked us what we wanted in English and did not need to have overcome them. We definitely had every single car in the area coming at our end without much effort. And if objects we wanted weren't available on the car, they took our orders and helped us get the items from behind. All the articles we have ordered have tasted satisfactory and this is usually how I judge my Dimsum posts. If the service is not terrible and tastes everything they should be, then it is an ingenious Dimsum Square! Nothing tasted super amazingly delicious, but my favorites were the Custard Bo luo bao, BBQ pork prunes fun, Tofu shrimps and the Turnip cakes from this place. But for people who are new to dimsum, I would recommend to go with some friends to share the articles and try some of the following classics: Turnip cake, Cheong fun (three different varieties to choose), shu mai shrimp, shrimp dumplings (har gow), spare ribs with black beans, chicken feet, lotus leaf rice packs, egg slices, and buns. Will definitely come back if I like Dimsum and in the area!"

"They have decent Chinese food. I placed an order with them for New Years Eve, $200. I figured since this place only does Chinese takeout they would be able to handle the high demand on New Years Eve. I called my order in at 1pm… for a 7pm pickup. At 7 pm I was told to come back at 9pm and my order (might) be ready then… meanwhile they were taking more phone orders as I am standing there being told my 1pm-phone-order would not be available for pickup, 2-hrs after it was meant for pickup! Totally unacceptable! They should know how many orders they can accommodate without over extending themselves. I canceled my order at 8pm…their failure to pace their orders messed-up my families New Years Eve dinner. We scrambled to find an alternative for takeout food, we settled for Pizza… never again will I order from #1 Taste Chinese"

"One of our favorite restaurants in town. However, it has much fewer choices for vegetarians now. At a time when most restaurants are increasing their offerings for vegans and vegetarians, they are going in the wrong direction. It has also become incredibly expensive. $14 apps and $20 entrees.. "I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. We parked in the back, thinking the entrance was there, but we happily walked around to the front to check out the menu. When we called to order from our car, the lady who answered said she would open the back entrance for us so we wouldn't have to walk around again—what a nice gesture! The chicken and green beans were delicious, and the Peking ravioli and crab rangoons were fantastic as well. The portion sizes were great too. Although I'm 20 minutes away from Bellingham, I might make the trip over for dinner every now and then!"

"Stuck in Mickey-land for a convention, a group of us were looking for a Sunday brunch spot. Oscar's at the Waldorf sounded like what we wanted and off we went. Although I'm not a lover of buffets, this one looked amazing, with more variety than usual, including a smoked salmon bar, prosciutto bar and honey dripping from a honeycomb! There were a lot of family's with kids, so it was a bit noisy, but that didn't really detract...everything the group of 4 tried, we loved. Only 2 things that were a little strange were that the cost of the buffet only included Mimosas, not **** Marys and there were no Eggs Benedict on the buffet??What impressed me most though was the commitment to making the customer happy. When I got to the salmon bar, it was empty, although two staff members I asked told me it would be restocked. When I mentioned it to our waiter, he came back and said they'd run out, which was disappointing. The manager came over an apologized, said they'd even sent over to the next door Hikton but they were out til Monday...not what I wanted to hear. 15 minutes later the manager appeared with a plate heaped with the best smoked salmon I've had in a long time....THAT is service."

"We were 12 for dinner at the restaurant before a show at the Saban. Everything was perfect from the big round table we were seated at to the wonderful service to the delicious food. Pretty hard to please 12 people and for the first time, everyone had only good things to say. Service was friendly and efficient with plenty of time to walk to the theater in time for the show."

"We had dinner here tonight, and everything was exceptional. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough for two big appetites. Each dish was delicious, and the service excelled. There's something truly special about a restaurant run by its owners, and I wish I lived closer to Mee Mah so I could dine here more often. Chicago has a fantastic food scene overall, and from my experience, the Chinese cuisine here rivals that of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle—almost the best you can find outside of China. Mee Mah is indeed a hidden gem. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Chicago so I can plan another meal at this wonderful family-owned Chinese restaurant."
