"When visiting Des Moines, this by far was arguably the best restaurant we ate at! I would highly recommend! Service was good and the food was great! Good flavor and portions. We ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, one normal and one with “light” (less) cheese. I think the one with light cheese was a much better choice. Especially if you’re not a huge connoisseur of cheese. We also ordered the Chicken Tortilla soup and the Jalapeño Chicken sandwich. All of it was extremely flavorful and well prepared. The Malo Fries were good as well! Cost is slightly on the higher side for a lunch meal. But definitely worth a try!"

"Amazing salsa !! Great service and a fun environment !!! But they need better chefs with more than one cooking style who know how NOT to overcook all the meat they offer. ALL dishes taste very similar! All with burnt burn marks on "whatever" meat, mixed with similar spices and all well done to finish cooking. The burned cremation, like a fajitas, but for every dish? This is the second time that I had to come here with the same results ... I refuse the next time I am invited ... Maybe have a drink because the mood is good and fun ... she just need better cooks ..."

To start neither one of the bathrooms had soap in them which was a big deal not only because of the pandemic but because it raises the question of how where the employees able to clean their hands appropriately. "Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables like me. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"Hubby and I came on a Wednesday or Thursday night when they had .50 wings. We got 20 assorted flavors and then ordered a calzone to split. Idk if it was a bad night for them, but nothing was really good. There 's a CAROLINA REAPER flavor for the wings.. I was expecting it to burn my face off considering it was in all upper case letters on the menu, but it was a huge let down. Not in the least bit spicy, their regular spicy buffalo is hotter. The Jamaican Jerk... lol tastes like they just fried the wings and tossed it in some kind of McCormick seasoning and called it jerk, it was also too salty. Our favorite part of the whole meal that night was the blue cheese and carrot sticks.. what does that tell you? Anyways, we were invited out last Friday night, and our friends picked Main Street Grille, honestly after the experience we had on .50 wing day, we weren 't too interested, but met up with them anyways. Idk if it was b/c of the company or the atmosphere or the great live band that was playing, but everything that night was killer! I ordered the Chicken Alfredo, it 's lighter than I usually expect for Alfredo sauce, but still had good flavor and the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. My meal also came with a choice of soup or salad, I picked the French onion soup and it 's probably one of my favorite places to get it now lol. Hubby ordered spicy buffalo wings w/ blue cheese and a side of Baked Mac N Cheese. He also enjoyed everything. Their side of baked Mac n cheese is huge! I 'm honestly baffled at the two different experiences, and they were only a week apart.. I 'm sure we will be back, hopefully it 's another great experience! I love the live music on Friday nights and the karaoke night on Saturday."

"I recently had lunch with a friend from out of town at this restaurant and let me tell you – it was an exceptional dining experience! Our waiter, Erik, was outstanding and deserves all the praise he receives. He made us feel valued as customers, ensured our drinks were always fresh, and kept our table clean. "My wife and I visited for a date night on the advice of a friend. We both decided on trying the buffet in the evening. We enjoyed great tacos, Enchiladas, and the best caldo de res I've ever had! The horchata was on point, not to sweet and not to bland. For all the good that the food was, the service was the opposite. The young man serving us had no interest in answering questions about the menu, left the drinks empty the entire evening until I came over to find him, and I had to chase him down for the bill at the end of the night. The food was good enough that we are going to try this restaurant again, hopefully with better service."

"Betrix is located at the outskirts of Oakbrook Mall. Best way to get here is by using Google maps as some car navigation just take you to the mall and you have to search. We have been to Beatrix a few times and like always our experience was great. Some tips to know before you go here: This place gets very busy so recommend you make reservations online before going. Their online reservation system is easy to use. They have a coffee area and a dining area. If you are waiting for a ta le then you can enjoy some nice coffee in the waiting area. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have enough servers but still can be overwhelmed due to the number of guests. All Covid protocols were followed. Staff were wearing masks and sanitizing tables between guests. Menu are online only and you can scan the QR code to get it. Bathrooms are very clean. We went here for brunch so below is our experience specific to that food only. The best brunch item was their Baked French Toast. It comes with 2 big toast that is hard from the crust and soft from inside. The toast is topped with Raspberries but you can substitute it with strawberries. It also had powered sugar on top so you almost don't even need syrup to eat. We ordered 3 plate. You have to try this when visiting the restaurant. Cauliflower grit was good. It comes with fried egg on top and is a good option for non sweet or something other than traditional omelet. Mushroom Burger was very flavorful and fresh. Very good option for vegetarians. Chicken Tinga was average. The chicken came in light curry and side of tortilla. Their fresh juices were good but it comes with lot of ice. That diluted the taste. Tips; This place is part of Lettuce Entertain so make sure you check in and give your code to get points. If getting fresh juice then make sure to ask with very little ice. If getting hot tea then you can always ask for extra hot water when it runs out. Overall, a good experience."

"We recently dined at this new restaurant in the area and had a great experience! We started with the BBQ fries, adding chicken for some extra protein, which was delicious. For the daily special, we ordered the beef rib dinner. When I saw the size of the rib, I couldn’t help but feel excited—it was massive! We jokingly referred to it as "Fred Flintstone-sized." It was cooked to perfection and well-seasoned. We kept our drinks simple with bourbon and Pepsi. The servers were attentive and polite, making our visit even more enjoyable. We're definitely planning to come back! I’ve seen some mediocre reviews, but I’m not sure what those experiences were like, because we only have positive things to say. "I asked to be seated at 11:23 The manager on duty said yes and walked away. I sat myself. He did not give me a menu or even ask if I’d like a glass of water. I had to ask a kitchen worker if I could have a drink or a menu. It was 7 minutes until open. Allowing a customer to sit in your restaurant and walk away is awful and poor service. 12:38 rolled around and still no one on the floor. Knowing you just sat a customer 15 minutes prior . Still nothing. No menu and not one employee on the floor. I walked out of the restaurant, found a kitchen worker on his cell phone in the outside area. He went and got the manager. He was cocky and rude and had zero cares in the works that there was a upset customer. He shrugged it off and said well we weren’t open. Sorry and rolled his eyes. He did not try to make it right at all . Absolutely awful customer service. I am a server and I am at the table within 2 minutes. I will never return."

"Mixed reviews on n this one. My husband was very happy with his dinner. I, on the other hand, was disappointed. My rotisserie chicken was over seasoned and over cooked. But, the fried mozzarella was very good and the bread was very tasty. The biggest disappointment, though, were the facilities . Both men 's and women 's washrooms were as if nobody had cleaned them in a very long time. Minimal or no toilet paper in each stall, minimal or no paper towels available, and little or no hand soap. And staff moved throughout the patrons ' tables without masks.The service provided was well intended, but not without hiccups. I don 't know if The Lodge has gone through a change in management since I was there last, but clearly Covid-19 has taken a toll on their operations."

"I was not believing what I read on the Hyatt app and had to see it for myself and indeed as of 5 June 2023 to the end of the year the pools are closed. The courtyard area was off limits and there were no valets. We only saw the front desk crew during our short visit. I did see a ladder in the pool complex. On the Hyatt app, restaurants like Alto, Noh and H2Oasis are no longer listed, and the Center Stage Bar and the Canyon Market are listed as closed for the 2023 Summer. (The two open remaining restaurants are SWB and Cantina Due . Looking at the bright side, the pool complex is sure to be much improved in 2024 with over a half a year to upgrade. The restaurant line up seems to be a work in progress so there could be some exciting newness there. We hope that the Hyatt Gainey will have some life after the 2023 summer when the Center Stage Bar is back. (Maybe entertainment too. And guest can get their coffees and snacks at the Canyon Market. In the meantime, the Hyatt Gainey will be a quieter simpler place."

"We were here for lunch and to get our pub pass stamped. The patio was pretty full when we were there, but there was plenty of room to dine in. The host and service were prompt. I had the Crushin' On Amber and my wife had the Bulldog Blonde for drinks. Weboth enjoyed the beers. I had the Spicy Chicky Sammy which I enjoyed. I like some heat and spice, but it was almost a bit toomuch for me. The Oh No! was the other sandwich that we had. The fries were good especially with the homemade ranch for dipping.We both came away full and would go back."
