"I rarely give out 5-star reviews, but I've been here about six times now, and it deserves it. The homemade ingredients make me want to start a meal plan with this restaurant. The decor is a bit dimly lit but still nice and comfortable. Although the restaurant isn't very large, if you enjoy a family-style atmosphere, this is definitely the place to be. As for the food, I highly recommend trying the chicken wrapped in banana leaves; it’s quite authentic with its spices. The prices are very reasonable, and the host is a polite gentleman who always recommends the best dishes based on your preferences. There's also a grocery store attached, so you can pick up some ethnic foods if you want to try your hand at Sri Lankan cooking. Overall, I can confidently give this establishment a strong 5-star rating."

"I visited this restaurant for dinner with a friend on a Saturday around 5:30 PM, and there was plenty of seating available. The staff was friendly and patient, and the restaurant itself was spacious with soft music playing in the background. They were able to customize my Pad See Ew by omitting the egg and fish sauce and adding tofu instead. The tofu was pan-fried to perfection and absorbed all the flavors wonderfully, plus the portion size was generous. I also ordered a Thai iced tea made with coconut milk instead of regular milk, and it was creamy and delicious without being overly sweet, as some places tend to serve. My friend ordered the same noodles but with chicken, asking for it to be spicy, and she found it to be just the right level of heat for her. I will definitely return! Just a heads up: they charge a 3% fee for card payments, so you might want to bring cash."

"UPDATE I have changed my 2 stars to 5 after speaking with the manager on the phone (and he also responded to my previous review). He apologized for the way the situation was handled and assured me that this was not the way they aspire to handle their business. I appreciate the time he took to speak to me and to respond to my previous review and as a result, I will be ordering from them again. This is absolutely the kind of customer service I highly value. I've been a frequent customer, ordering at least 2 3 days a week for months now. The food is actually pretty tasty and I was especially fond of their lemonade (couldn't get enough of it). But today, while the order I placed was written correctly, one of the sandwiches that was delivered was incorrect and the lemonade was weak and pretty terrible. This wouldn't usually prompt me to write a 2 star review, but the person who answered the phone when I called to address the issues was just plain rude. When I told him about the incorrect sandwich, he sounded annoyed that I was bothering him with such a trivial matter and basically blew it off and blamed it on his boss who took the order (he was not going to replace it with the item I actually ordered). When I asked him what he was going to do about the lemonade, he said that if he delivered a new one it would be the same, so he wasn't going to replace that either (he said that a new one would taste the same). When I then asked for a refund, he told me that if I wanted a refund but he was going to have to come and pick up the old one (no skin off my nose, the lemonade sucked but he was pretty obnoxious about it). I will not be purchasing from this store again (unfortunate because the food is usually good) all because of the way I was treated. Customer service matters.,, at least it matters to me."

"I took my husband for an early morning breakfast and was pleasantly surprised how great my meal was. Typically culled eggs are never made right, as chefs pour simply beaten eggs over a flat top grill, then chop them with edge of metal spatula, which was hard eggs BUT at Pancake House my agitator came hot and fluffy. Yes! My blueberry cake was tender and delicious. And my bacon was perfection. I love having a coffee at the table. Great idea. Our server was a PRO. We're definitely coming back."

"Perhaps this review is a bit biased because we were so happy to find a place that served breakfast past 11am, but this place is really good. We were in desperate need for some good 'ol eggs and ham and unfortunately we could not find a place that served breakfast after 11am. This place was a gift from above because their delicious crepes are cookin way past 11am. We had the breakfast plus crepe with some avocado added to it. It was tasty and just the breakfast fix we needed. I would definitely come back."

"My boyfriend friend and I were visiting Chicago, and we decided to stop in here today because of the menu variety. We'll I'll just say I WILL be coming back, the food was really good. I got the fried chicken (mild) really good and my bf got the beef over rice. Satisfied with portions because we are walking everywhere. PLUS the server lady was the best service I've had in Chicago period. extremely nice, attentive and very helpful. she needs a raise!!! but overall 5/5 for me and My boyfriend!"

"I've been ordering lunch from this restaurant every day for the past year, and the staff is incredibly kind and friendly. They always go the extra mile to ensure customers are satisfied. My favorite dishes include the chicken Caesar wrap, breakfast burrito, chicken quesadilla (which comes with a delicious homemade-style salsa), and the Asian chicken salad. The portion sizes are generous, so I often save half for later. Plus, I always order online, which saves me a lot of time!"

"The food was pretty good, and the staff was nice, but a little frustrated when I asked for the fresh squeezed OJ that is priced at 6$ a piece, only I witnessed the server pour a gallon of like Cumberland farm brand OJ, on top of seeing a roach crawling across the counter by the register. Paid almost 50$ for 2 meals and 2 OJs, when they really only should have charged around 35$ had I known I was gonna be served garelick farms orange juice lol"

"Pretty good spot! The balsamic dressing was amazing. I got the cajun etouffee and it was really good!!! And our serve was outstanding. My only comments were that the food was around $3 pricier on the bill than the menu, and the cornbread was kinda plain (still pretty moist though)."

"WOWWW! I found a yakitori place that I’m definitely going to be a consistent customer from now on. What I liked: They take reservations over the phone. 1 Ambiance is great! I liked how each table is separated by glass barriers. They use real candles. You take off your shoes before you entire the table area. Service is a bit slow but very good. I really liked our server. She checked up on us when she could and gave us some great recommendations for skewers and sake! Here’s what I ordered below: AWESOME must order) Cod belly: #1 favorite thing. So tender and flavor is perfectly sweet, salty, and umami Chicken heart Takowasabi $9): soo good! Raw octopus marinated with wasabi. It wasn’t too overwhelming and had the perfect bite. Chicken gizzard If you like drinks, we ordered the 720 mL Tatenowaka Phoenix sake for $85. It was the perfect amount for a group of 4 and was light, fresh, and sweet. GOOD Grilled Onigiri: this is good to eat with the skewers Pork belly PASS: Karaage: it’s like small crispy chicken bits. I’ve had better karaage elsewhere Wagyu $5.50): it doesn’t taste like wagyu to me… wayyy too overcooked and chewy. Not worth the $5.50 per skewer Chicken thigh with wasabi: they put a fat line of wasabi on the chicken. It’s too overpowering! Giving it 4 stars right now because I need to go again to see if service food is consistent. So far, I’m really impressed!"

"I drive an hour to eat here. They make the best southwest burgers and the fries are great too. Cute restaurant and great food. The girl helping us today was very busy so that was the only thing bit perfect. The food came out in a timely manner once we got to place our order and it was worth the drive!"

"Food: 5 The food was all very delicious! The udon noodles were made and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed various udon bowls, including their white wine clam sauce, their duck broth, and their beef with fluffy egg. We also got their signature uni cream udon, which we liked it but not as much as we expected to. The uni is cooked so it has a milder flavor and firmer texture rather than the creamier texture you may have in sushi, and the cream sauce is decadent but quite heavy. We also enjoyed their karaage and assorted tempura which were both masterfully fried and delicious. Service: 5 We arrived at 11:30am on a Tuesday and waited about 15-20 minutes. You can put your name on a waitlist outside the restaurant, but you must have your whole party there and can’t wander away since they call your name manually. We had a very attentive and kind waiter! Atmosphere: 5 Great vibes overall. You can venture to the back of the restaurant to watch them prepare the food if you’re interested!"

"Was definitely a surprise how good the food was... We are from Texas and didn't expect the food here to taste like back home... 1st place I have been in a long time.that had a fried Bologna sandwich on the menu... between that and the fried pork chop the fish basket and rhe chicken bog... the fried Bologna sandwich was definitely my favorite... This ain't no thin slice of Bologna either... if you don't like the food here then... I don't know what to tell you... Taco Bell may"

"If you're in search of delicious pizza and fantastic grilled dishes, you must visit Al-Safa! You won't regret it. I went there with my wife, and we were warmly welcomed by the manager and the staff right away. They presented us with menus to peruse. I already had a bit of a preview since they were handing out menus at the local Omar masjid after prayers. As I write this review, I can’t emphasize enough how delicious the food is. The chicken over rice is truly the authentic NYC halal experience! Our chicken sandwiches were equally impressive—super juicy and incredibly tender. Overall, everything was exceptional! So if you're looking for great food, make sure to check out Al-Safa!"
