"WOWWW! I found a yakitori place that I’m definitely going to be a consistent customer from now on. What I liked: They take reservations over the phone. 1 Ambiance is great! I liked how each table is separated by glass barriers. They use real candles. You take off your shoes before you entire the table area. Service is a bit slow but very good. I really liked our server. She checked up on us when she could and gave us some great recommendations for skewers and sake! Here’s what I ordered below: AWESOME must order) Cod belly: #1 favorite thing. So tender and flavor is perfectly sweet, salty, and umami Chicken heart Takowasabi $9): soo good! Raw octopus marinated with wasabi. It wasn’t too overwhelming and had the perfect bite. Chicken gizzard If you like drinks, we ordered the 720 mL Tatenowaka Phoenix sake for $85. It was the perfect amount for a group of 4 and was light, fresh, and sweet. GOOD Grilled Onigiri: this is good to eat with the skewers Pork belly PASS: Karaage: it’s like small crispy chicken bits. I’ve had better karaage elsewhere Wagyu $5.50): it doesn’t taste like wagyu to me… wayyy too overcooked and chewy. Not worth the $5.50 per skewer Chicken thigh with wasabi: they put a fat line of wasabi on the chicken. It’s too overpowering! Giving it 4 stars right now because I need to go again to see if service food is consistent. So far, I’m really impressed!"

Semi private seating, dim lighting, friendly service, excellent food and drinks!

This is a very unique yakatori restaurant with good food and very attentive staff. However, they need to expand their wine list. It consists of only 8 wines with two costing $800 and one $140. The other 5 are either $45 or $50. We will return.

This is honestly hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Almost everything we ordered was amazing and the service was great. I can’t stress enough that you can’t go wrong with anything you order. If you’re in the bay you NEED to go out of your way to try this!!! View menu

Was initially a bit concerned about the seating (must have missed that when booking) but luckily it's sunken, not sitting on the floor. Do recommend going earlier to take advantage of things like the black cod belly as they run out quickly. Very unique place to go, and a great way to order a number of things and share with everyone.

You have your own area of dining separated by glass wall. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Manager Mei May particularly attentive we like her very much. Even it is a Japanese type BBQ restaurant the kitchen is separated on one side you won’t get smelly after eating there. We went there twice just to make sure they are consistent. The only thing I may complain is just the parking sometime it’s hard to find parking.

The spicy beef ramen is delicious. It never disappoints. My other go to is the spicy pork belly skewers I can never get enough of them. The atmosphere is so comfortable you can have a beautiful date night or a night with the family. Another plus to going here is the manager May is the sweetest person she always checks on you and makes sure everything is going great. She's always very nice to talk to. Me and my fiancee are always having good conversation with her. This is a must visit. View menu

Arrived 10 min earlier than our reservation and had to wait to get seated. That seems to be the common practice as there were plenty of seats. Eventually was seated at a cozy table sunk into the floor. Each table separated by clear partitions giving you some privacy to talk yet you can see everyone else. Lots of small items on the menu. We ordered several kinds of meat including a wagyu. Also lobster. Fish. One vegetable. And Soju to drink. It came out fairly quickly and was all pretty good. Enjoyed each of the dishes. In and out quite fast.

My friend and I had an absolutely enchanting time here. Our server Kat was the best I have ever met and was warm and attentive throughout the duration of our time here! She knows the menu like the back of her hand and had sensational recommendations for us, was quick and agile with delivering our dishes, and anticipated and accommodated our needs without us even asking! And, best of all, her 'tableside manner ' was stellar, as she provided some emotional support too (with permission) to my friend who had just been through an ordeal and was telling me about it! The food itself was also top-shelf for a reasonable price and the decor and atmosphere in the outside patio area is also beautiful. I...

"Curry Hyuga had long been on my culinary radar, and today, I finally had the chance to experience it. The occasion arose as I needed to pick up my partner at SFO later, and given the mere 10-minute drive from the restaurant to the airport, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to satiate my appetite and make the most of my time, rather than aimlessly circling around the airport. Conveniently, there are numerous public parking lots scattered throughout the town. The restaurant opens its doors at 11:30 am, and I arrived promptly at 11:25 am, only to find a queue already forming outside, as depicted in the photo. The attentive server, Yuki promptly greeted each customer and kept my water glasses filled, setting a positive tone for the dining experience.Opting for their Signature Curry Rice Entree, which features their caramelized onion curry accompanied by shredded cabbage, creamy potato salad, and Fukujin pickles, I decided to elevate my meal by adding Chicken Cutlet Katsu Curry with Chicken Karaage as additional toppings. To my amazement, my order was delivered to my table in a mere 3 minutes, which left me thoroughly impressed. Curry Hyuga's standout feature is their incredibly tender meat, perfectly complemented by their mouthwatering curry—a true masterpiece with Kanazawa-style sweetness and richness that sets it apart. To further customize your dish, they offer a selection of five different spices: Ichimi Togarashi, Jalapeno Pepper, Pequin Pepper, Wiri Wiri Pepper, and Orange Habanero. I had the pleasure of sampling all of them, and personally, I found the Wiri Wiri Pepper and Orange Habanero powder to be standout choices. Their spiciness elevated the curry to a whole new level, complemented by the unique fragrance of the peppers."

"I made reservations here for Valentine's day and everything was perfect! Their service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and with each dish it was cool how they talked about the food and explained some of the tastes and flavors just before we began eating. And they get huge props for accommodating my dietary restrictions and modifying almost every item on their menu to something I could eat! (5/5) Osetra caviar I normally hate caviar, but this one was really good! It's cured so it's a bit salty (4/5) Sauteed baby abalone Pretty good, although it doesn't quite compare to ones I've had in the past. That said, one doesn't eat abalone often, so I think the bar for abalone is pretty high (5/5) Warm lobster salad Wow! The lobster was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Also I thought the charred avocado was interesting; they blowtorch the avocado to give it a slightly tougher texture on the outside, mirroring the lobster (4/5) Braised Lamb Ragu The lamb was exploding with spices and flavor, although it was a tad dry inside. The pappardelle was perfectly al dente (4/5) Black Cherry Sorbet Pretty good, the puffed black rice was a bit hard (one of the pieces was like a rock) but the sorbet was flavorful without being too strong (5/5) Hokkaido A5 Wagyu This was the star of the show. Have you ever had steak that melts in your mouth like butter?? The only problem with this dish is that there were only 2 slices of steak! I wish there were 3! (5/5) Spicy Kiss Passion Fruit Juice They made a modification and gave me a small shot of spicy, fizzy passion fruit juice. The chili had a lot of heat but actually went well with the sourness and fizz of the juice. I would never have though of making passion fruit spicy, but it was pretty tasty (4/5) Cubed fruit stack I don't know what to call this since they also did an entirely separate fruit dessert for me, but it was essentially a Rubik's cube made of watermelon, kiwi, and strawberry, topped with a dark chocolate covered strawberry. (5/5) House made meringue I also don't normally like meringue, but this was like candy and tasted amazing! Thanks Viognier for a wonderful evening and accommodating my dietary needs, everything was solid!"
