"You’ve got a ton of options in Little Italy and most of those are Italian (shocker, I know, I know). Of the many Italian options, most are very, very good. To stand out in this area, you gotta nail both taste and service. We’ve eaten here before, and ALWAYS loved the food. We’ve go some vegetarian friends and family, so Civico is always a go to when meeting up in little Italy. So it’s the 22nd of December, getting later in the afternoon on a Friday, Holiday week. Tons of people shopping in the area, tons of people more than you’d think for a week day. Civico is pretty busy, we can see a line forming outside and almost didn’t stop by. Reservations are helpful, and there’s typically a line, but it never hurts to ask. We were seated immediately, on the patio, able to have a view of the crowds and settled in. You’d think service might be a tad slow or hurried because of holidays and crowds… but not even a little bit. We had Gio, who’s service was a little bit magic. There when we needed something, no hovering, great timing, and spot on recommendations for appetizers and wine. Spot on. I’m sure we’re one of a million guest over the holiday season, but you’d never know with how well he treated us. We get limited time with Family as we’re spread all over the US. Gio made the dining experience perfect. The food stands on it’s own as great, but, service is something you don’t train, you instill. We loved it. Hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had in some time and definitely the best in Little Italy. Highly recommended – ask for Gio."

"We were sat in the outer tent with a reservation on a Saturday at 6:15 pm. There was one server and a couple of runners assisting him for the whole space. There were several large parties sat, as well as 2 and 4 tops sat several seatings while we were there for over 2 hours for a long drawn out meal due to long delays for the server to return to take our order and check on us in between ordering courses. That wasn't necessarily the thing the made the experience unhappy it was just a bit much as it became noisier at the end of the evening and we were just sitting and waiting for the bill and then for it to be run. My main issue was cleanliness. The poor server and his crew outside were sooo slammed. Already sitting in the outside tent is a little on the dirtier side, but the exterior door of the tent was a pile of mess of chairs , silverware and cheese bowls etc. Our first order was spaghetti and meatballs for our child and one meatball had a hair in it. When the server finally returned to check on us, he was apologetic, and took it off our bill. But as I said I can kind of see overall the cleanliness plays into something like this occurring. Overall the food tasted good. I can RAVE about the pizza the crust is a perfect blend of soft and chewy. The pesto sauce they bring complimentary for the bread better on the pizza crust is delightful and the artichokes appetizer, if you are fan of this veggie, was quite delicious. I wish they had more specialty non alcoholic beverage options and that they didn't automatically bring water with ice. Overall we would definitely visit again for the pizza and/or order it for take out."

"Chose this from Google search for dinner near our hotel. In the Little Italy section of town. Really large quantity of Italian choices, as expected. Good reviews and photos of cases of baked goods and gelato cemented the choice. Lots of traditional menu choices including veal parmesan, cioppino, numerous pastas. Picked the bruschetta as appetizer as is always our first choice. The tomatoes weren't very flavorful and the bread was over crisped for our taste so not our favorite. They also brought a basket of bread which was close to a baguette but a bit softer crust. This was served with a small ramekin of what looked like marinara but was actually closer to a puttanesca with a little snap to it. Quite tasty. The bruschetta was served with a small pile of mixed greens plus thinly sliced sweet onion dressed with the house dressing. This tasted like an Italian dressing but lighter than most with what tasted like possibly a bit of citrus. Outstanding. So good we decided to order a house salad split between two plates. After perusing the many delectable sounding menu items, including a selection of specials, my wife chose her tried and true go to, fettuccine with Bolognese. I selected from the special sheet, the Spaghetti Carbonara, something I tend to try when we see it available. We had ordered the salad after placing our entree orders so it turned out that everything came out as once. OMG! The portions were gigantic! The salad looked like two large dinner salads but I was assured it was one split in half. The app and the salads alone would have made a very worthy dinner. But we also had bountiful bowls of pasta alongside. Wife enjoyed her entrée very much but couldn’t possibly finish it. My Carbonara was perfectly cooked, with a good portion bacon. And plenty of parmesan. It seemed a little low on olive oil but a good stir brought more from the bottom of the bowl. For me, it was lacking quantity of freshly cracked black pepper but our waiter offered it upon request. I loved it. Highly recommended. The flavors of gelato didn't inspire us and after perusing the pastry case we decided to pass. Some looked a bit dry and being kept in a refrigerated case-which we have had bad experiences with before-caused us to pass. If you want some well-made pasta dishes and a wonderful salad in significant quantity, look no further than Solunto."
